  • Most issues reported these days stem from users not enabling their emulators to use the required amount of RAM.
    We also tend not to use the search feature but post our issues within the texture pack release page.
    Failure to load a texture pack should not be posted in the release thread unless you have already patched the emulator.

    If you don't have the resources to use Large/HD texture packs please do not attempt to do so.
    Users should have a minimum amount of System RAM not less then 4GB's.
    If you have less then 4GB's of RAM do not post about how your emulator crashes,
    RAM is dirt cheap so invest some money into your PC.

Picture and Frame *Complete*

Allright, well that didn't take as long as I thought. Though to be honest, I'm not 100% satisfied with the end results. Nearly impossible to find the perfect picture but Glamis Castle has come pretty damn close.

Picture and frame:



Noticed some JPEG artifacts in that closeup of the frame. That's easy to fix, so if the picture pases the test, I'll work on cleaning up those artifacts.

Just like everything else in this room (except the spikes around the edge) it's 32X. Freaking fat at 14mb. But the original pic is 3720X2480, so there wasn't too much upscaling involved; the details are still ultra sharp and clear (with the exception of that path towards the front that has some artifacts).

Chaoszerox, if you have any save states or game saves before beating the Forest Temple I'd love to have them, or if it's easier I could upload the painting files for you to test. Need to test them out eventually to make sure it looks okay with Phantom Gannon riding down the path and out of the picture. But, if Death--Droid doesn't like the pic that could be a moot point :)

One possible solution for all your troubles: Use a filter that makes it look like a painting? Will git rid of artifacts, and will make it look more like it fits in the game.

Wow... I hate it when forums go down... this is the first chance I've had to actually get on and look at stuff... so big post:

@Zeckron: The Forest Temple looks AMAZING!!!!!!!!!! Although, I'm with you on the "Glamis Castle not quite right" thing... but I'm sure it will come together. Same with the poe pictures. Actually, I think Lewa's Mickey D's picture would work just fine. And, if you get a chance, retexture Phantom Gannon's scepter to make it look like a big french fry. And make the energy balls into big macs. You can do it, I have faith in you.

@Lewa: Water Temple stuff looks great! I'm feeling the second versions more than the first, it looks more refined, but that's just me. Keep it up!

@IanSkelskey: Like your work on the menu! I was going to do it, but I just got so damn busy... to be honest, I seriously doubt I could have done a better job, so mad props! Keep up the good work!

@All: I'm SO sorry I've not been up to anything lately... I've been so busy recently, I've hardly had time to eat, much less work on textures. AND I've been trying to keep up with everything here (at least contribute my opinions, if not my textures), but I haven't had the patience to wait for the forum to load, and haven't had the time either. Hopefully, things will turn around soon--I feel really bad that I haven't had anything decent to contribute in a long time!

I would work on it myself, but I don't know what exact font was used...
Also the forums seem to be going faster :bouncy: Still can't make a custom avatar tho...

P.S. I've noticed with 1964Video.dll and 1964 v99 you can actually load the hires textures while your playing (ex. you start it without the hires textures, then check the load hires textures option.)

You could take the 'e' that's already in the pack and just add the accent mark.

HUD Action text

Where can I upload an archived file to share here? The only work I've submitted that way was directly to Mode7 for the community pack.

This submission includes HUD Action text redone. I know it was already good but I changed the font work on the shadowing. I have not tested all of them ingame to see if they are centered or properly sized. But that can be easily adjusted.

Here are a couple of examples of what is in the package:

I made this accented é by just using the accent off from the é from the Verdana font ( just about every windows system has this font) and adding it onto the e from the pack as you suggested lewa.

Here's the é I made on a solid black background:

dcs, they don't seem to overwrite the ones already in the pack, i noticed the #'s are missing from the file name.

aren't those required for it to load?

@dcs78 good job but the pack already has those so i have no need for them.
@chaoszerox thanks for that I've added it to the pack.
@squall_leonhart the hashes are required for textures to load in Rice Video and i think in GlideHQ (Not sure tho)

OK, so since I need something to do at night to get my mind off things (which is impossible while sitting at a computer), I'm gonna see what I can do about the poe sister pictures (and maybe the castle picture from the boss room)... I'm not great with humans, but I figure I'll be able to draw some good looking poes... we'll see how this goes...
