  • Most issues reported these days stem from users not enabling their emulators to use the required amount of RAM.
We also tend not to use the search feature but post our issues within the texture pack release page.
Failure to load a texture pack should not be posted in the release thread unless you have already patched the emulator.

If you don't have the resources to use Large/HD texture packs please do not attempt to do so.
Users should have a minimum amount of System RAM not less then 4GB's.
If you have less then 4GB's of RAM do not post about how your emulator crashes,
RAM is dirt cheap so invest some money into your PC.

@Lewa, thanks for the good laugh with that Mcdonald's pic :) That was awesome! Hey those new textures you're making look awesome! Double reverse bevel&emboss, I would have never thought of that. Really, it's stunning!

@Death--Droid, I'll take out some of the drop shadow on the wood beams of the gate and send a new screenie later tonight.

@chaoszerox, thanks for the game saves! I'll definitely put them to use tonight after work and see how phantom gannon looks when he busts out of Glamis Castle :) Also good catch on the accented E.

Looking at that screenie, Ruto looks like a freaking skank. I hate to say it, but somehow she has that 40yr old-hooker look. Hope somebody can clean her up a bit :)

Chieftain! Good to see you again sir. Sounds like you're quite busy. I'm thrilled that you're interested in doing the castle and Poe Sisters. Honestly, there's just no way on heaven or earth that I could make them. I just don't have that type of talent. Glad to know you'd like to take a shot at them, and I'm very VERY curious to see how they'll turn out.

BTW, did you finish Lord Jabu Jabu and the rest of Zora's Fountain?

@Zeckron--no... I've not been sleeping well, so I've spent my evenings laying in bed trying to pass out (and failing, mostly). At some point, when I've gotten rested, I'll return to working at the computer. I'm actually going to do the Poe Sisters by hand (pencil and paper)... I'll probably color them in photoshop, but I'll wait and see how the drawing turns out.

Edit @Zeckron again-- any chance you could send me the texture dumps for the Poe Sisters in-game? I could use some original source material to base the drawings off of. Thanks.

Sorry to hear about the insomnia Chieftain.

Right now no, I can't send you the textures. Stupid me, I beat the dungeon and didn't keep any prior save states or save files. Once you destroy the Poe Sisters, their pictures are gone forever.

Chaoszerox uploaded all his save games, so I'm going to give them a shot tonight after work to see if he has one before the Forest Temple is beaten.

If so, I'll identify the textures and send them to you asap!

That's OK, I can do that--I just thought you might still have the texture dumps, and I thought it would be quicker to ask you for those files than for me to go through the temple. I can do that, though.

If it's not too late, here ya go sir:

EDIT: Had a chance to fight phantom gannon with the Glamis Castle pic. Unfortunately, while the picture itself looked amazing, gannon ended up flying through the air up and over the damn castle :)

I was afraid of that..... The original pic itself had a very long and winding pathway up to the castle. The search is on again for another pic that may work, but I had already looked for about 2 solid hours before using Glamis.

Chieftain, it may be up to you :)

As far as sleeping, I find I sleep much better if I do some physical activity around 4-8 PM. I usually play Basketball or Football with some close-by friends I've played with for years.
Also usually before I go to bed, around midnight I watch anime for like an hour instead of working on my comp. or playing games on my comp. (PC gaming FTW!!!).

I'm posting some new saves I've gotten to. Note that I save at least before I start and after I finish each dungeon/temple/level then archive each save properly named. I have a few other saves as well.
Currently half through Spirit Temple, by tommorow, I'll have posted at least up to Ganon's tower.

Everything is in my OoT re-texture public folder on mediafire.com

=( remember shes not human, she's a humanoid fish creature with lungs and gills. Also I can personally guarantee there will never be a hooker in any official Zelda games

@Chieftan459: I read that looking at computer screens (or anything bright) at night upsets your biological clock, making your brain think it's daytime, and making it very hard to sleep. I'd say I've experienced this. Just thought I'd throw that out there.

Try this, I know it isn't perfect, but maybe it will look alright in the game:

Menu Work

I got a little bit further. So at this point, I have completed the following:

Quest Status
Equipment
Item Selection
Z+R Buttons

Check it Out:

BTW: Is there anyway to fix that problem with the equipment screen?

@IanSkelskey thats looking really good, to fix that equipment screen problem you have to turn on frame buffer effects in Rice Video.

@Chaoszerox: haha! No worries about Ruto man. Zelda OOT is one of my top 10 all time favorites. My favorite games are like old family members: you may be brutally honest with them more than anyone else and say mean things, but that doesn't mean you love them any less.

Again, thanks for the game saves. That's really going to help quite a lot (and not just me).

@Timewarp: good idea with the Glamis Castle pic. I hadn't even thought about warping it around to make the pathway longer. Thanks for the tip, I'll give that a shot tonight. The only thing about making changes to it, is having split it back up into it's 6 individual seperate files. So plug-and-play experimenting with it takes a looooong time. But I think you're on to something there, so I'll try it!

@Ianskelskey: The menu screens are looking good. I like the subtle lighting effect in there too. Adds some needed contrast. Excellent work!

Framebuffer Effects & Menu

Okay, guys thanks for all of the suggestions. I will add a little contrast as suggested, but more importantly, I still need frame buffer information. I set them as suggested, but the equipment still does not appear as it should. Is this normal? Either way, please get back to me and let me know. =]

@Zeckron--you 'da man.

@Everyone else--you guys are cool, too :p

Back to drawing... I wish I could say I've got a promising start... it's been a while since I've done anything by hand, so it's tough for me to get back into it. I may switch to pen-tablet and computer if things don't start going better... we'll see.

@Kupfel, thanks for the fix that IanSkelskey had mentioned. I actually had the same problem too. On my end, it makes link look incredibly pixelated in that little window. But at least he's there, instead of a jumbled mess of funky texutres. Thanks!

Allright, so here's my road map for the next several days:
1) Forest Temple - 96% complete (still missing bossroom paintings and Poe Sister paintings)
2) Sacred Forest Meadow - 60% complete (started on it early yesterday, not many textures in there, but finishing up the ones that are missing)
3) Release Forest Temple / Sacred Meadow BETA upon completion of #1 and #2.
4) Dungeon Common Objects - 0% complete. This is stuff like all 3 versions of the torches, treasure chests (regular, and also boss key), switches, doors, etc. I've started gathering some base pics to get ideas from and hope to have these done within a week or so.
5) Don't know.

Actually, I think the switches were included in some of the first textures Mode7 did a long time back. Same with the treasure chests and some doors (at least, the ones that are carried over from the Deku Tree dungeon.

I see what you're saying there Chieftain, unfortunately the only file I could find was 1 of 2 of the required files for the regular treasure chests. And it's actually the exact stock in-game texture that's used. So looks like it was to be a WIP that never got finished.

Couldn't find any door pics.

If Death--Droid was wanting to go back and finish those, that would be cool. Otherwise, I'll plan to get to them in the next several days.

EDIT: couldn't find any switch pics either.

OK, I found the treasure chest and door textures I was thinking of... and I'm under the impression that the textures used on the concrete blocks were also used on the switches... so I have those too. I'll upload the stuff I found in a sec.

Edit: Link to OldStuff.zip (contents: Sliding door, treasure chest, stone block textures):
