  • Most issues reported these days stem from users not enabling their emulators to use the required amount of RAM.
    We also tend not to use the search feature but post our issues within the texture pack release page.
    Failure to load a texture pack should not be posted in the release thread unless you have already patched the emulator.

    If you don't have the resources to use Large/HD texture packs please do not attempt to do so.
    Users should have a minimum amount of System RAM not less then 4GB's.
    If you have less then 4GB's of RAM do not post about how your emulator crashes,
    RAM is dirt cheap so invest some money into your PC.

Here is my final or second to last posting of my save states.
This includes all the saves I made playing the game up to very last door before Ganon! The entire storyline is complete, but hardly touched the extras, bottles, pieces of hearts, upgrades, etc. If I complete everything 100% I'll post again, or if link dies, etc.


*NOTE* that I saved at least before I start and after I finish each dungeon/temple/level then archive each save properly named. I have a few snapshot saves (project64 format .PJ, useable by 1964 as well), such as before gaining special items like fire/light arrows and before bosses.

I feel like I should share this bit of knowledge in-case it is unknown to everyone working on the project. The textures for OoT can be used in the master quest version! The only problem is you have to rename all of the files! You need an app for that. There are applications, I forget which 1 I used before, that will allow you to rename X number of files EASILY. I'll get back to you all on this later.

P.S. Does anyone have the absolute final versions of the cell shaded and the other hires pack (realistic one, forgot the name sorry!). And any other complete packs or mostly complete

The old pack was so disorganized that I'm surprised more things didn't get missed. Definitely not something to worry about... 'cause it's back, baby! :p

Anyway, I just wanted to make sure Zeckron didn't reinvent the wheel if he didn't want/need to.

@Chieftain: thank you sir! Yup, I don't like reinventing the wheel either. So thanks for that post! The pics are only 4X, would be cool to have some at 16X or higher but at this point I just can't justify going back and re-doing them since there are still so many areas and objects that are virtually untouched.

I think I'll still work on the torches, door lock&chain, boss key treasure chest, and the other door that kinda looks like it has stained glass in the middle b/c they're not in that pack. That door itself is used everywhere in the game, but I've got a feeling that each area uses it's own separate file name.

I just ran into that problem with the fairy fountain in the sacred forest meadow. Remember I had retextured all the elements in the fairy fountains, but I was using the one in the graveyard as my base. Well, this fairy fountain is nothing but stock. So it looks like I'll be taking a trip around the world to identify and fix every single one individually (damn!)

@chaoszerox: again, thanks for all those saves. That's going to come in VERY handy for me personally b/c I still haven't finished the game. I stopped playing once I found this project :)

EDIT: Maybe I SHOULDN'T go around the world and fix all the fairy fountains. Maybe they should be left open for other folks to fix them that are working on that particular area of the world? I dont' know, just a thought. One of those opportunities for more people to get their creative hands in the mix and make each one look different? Death--Droid what are your thoughts there?

I'm not death--droid... but in my opinion, since the fountains are all pretty much identical, and you're already familiar with the textures and where they need to go, maybe you should take care of them all. Not that I'm trying to volunteer you for more work, or anything...

Allright, for some reason the damn trees have been bugging me. I really hate to go back over a texture once I've deemed it "complete" but I just had to on this one. After looking back through the Lost Woods, I saw one of the older tree textures that looked really cool. It didn't seem to fit well on it's own for the sacred forest meadow trees and those in the forest temple, but with a little blending, airbrushing, etc I ended up mixing it with the original tropical wood I had used.

Actually I like it much better. I realize of course that it voids my claim on it being an original work, but I don't care about that. I Just want it to look good.

Forest Temple / Sacred Forest Meadow BETA Release

Thanks for the positive comments folks, I appreciate it.

With that out of the way, I see no point not to release the Forest Temple and the Sacred Forest Meadow as BETAs.

Included in the Sacred Forest Meadow is a subfolder for the fairy fountain. One day soon, I'll upload all the fairy fountains throughout the world (they'll just be copies of my master folder I uploaded sometime ago).

If we get the Poe Sister and castle pictures done sometime down the road, that's awesome. If not, it's really no biggie.

I would appreciate it if someone could do a quick walk-through in the temple with the textures b/c there are quite a few that I didn't post screenies of. Would be great for a second, third, etc opinion.

If you see anything wrong, please post a screenie for me.

On a note about that: there are a few areas in the dungeon where the textures are 'kind of' used incorrectly. Example: the basement persian rugs. They're tiled and overlapped in a very bad spot so it looks a tiny bit dodgy. This is the only spot in the whole place in which the rugs are jacked, but if you look closely you can notice it.

A few other places in the dungeon are like this, some of them are good b/c it adds more depth and personality to a column, wall, etc. But some of them look a little dodgy. No way to fix or correct that, since it's a game hard-coding.

Anyway, if you get time please take a look. The pack is pretty big b/c everything is 16X or higher :)

In the mean time I thought I'd distract myself with a couple enemy retextures. Check out Deku Baba's meaty and slimy tongue (baba's only consist of 4 textures, all very easy to change, and with awesome results!):

Ooh, like the deku baba. Lotsa veins--actually boosts the evil level.

I'm working on the Poe Sisters... I've got a good start on Amy (green)... once I get Amy done, it should be fairly easy to proceed with Beth and Joelle (blue and red) by tweaking the body, changing arm positions, and changing the eyes and hat. All in all, I'm not sure when it will be done, probably quite some time (I think these pictures deserve a lot of attention, unlike the usual textures)... so I suppose those will get released as a patch down the road (possible along with the boss room picture).

I'll see if I can't make a quick walk/run-through of Forest Temple Beta tomorrow morning. Looking forward to seeing Zeckron's first full temple!!

@Lewa--I realize now that I forgot to post the textures I asked you to work on for me... I'll rectify that shortly. Actually, if you're up for it, I could send you the textures for the 3 spiritual stones, even though I only need the Zora Sapphire to finish the Zora Fountain... I think I'm going to work on Jabu's mask myself (I've got a plan for it), but I may change my mind on that one. I can't wait to get Jabu done, so I can get back to texturing stationary objects that don't bobble in the water.

Expect another post from me shortly.

@Lewa--I've got a pack together and uploaded. Included in it are all the files for Jabu's mask. Here's my thought: I'll work to refine my mask, and maybe you can do an alternate version... compare the results, find which one is better, refine that one further, and call it done.

The Zora Sapphire is in there as well... I'm not going to attempt that one--you've got an obvious talent for those sorts of things, so if you don't mind doing it, its all yours. I won't ask you to do the other two, though, unless you want to.

@Chieftain, thanks for the compliment on the Deku Baba. That one was actually waaaaaaaaay too easy. The others I'm playing with aren't acting near as nice. Also glad to see you and Lewa tag-teaming up on some stuff. Only good things can come from teamwork like that. Freaking awesome!

hey guys. i was thinking of helping out with this pack as i'm giving up on the pokemon stadium project. Not because i dont want to do it but rather that nobody is going to use it so i was thinking about helping out with a different pack and I've decided to help and get involved with this one if its ok with the people working on it atm
