What's new
  • Most issues reported these days stem from users not enabling their emulators to use the required amount of RAM.
We also tend not to use the search feature but post our issues within the texture pack release page.
Failure to load a texture pack should not be posted in the release thread unless you have already patched the emulator.

If you don't have the resources to use Large/HD texture packs please do not attempt to do so.
Users should have a minimum amount of System RAM not less then 4GB's.
If you have less then 4GB's of RAM do not post about how your emulator crashes,
RAM is dirt cheap so invest some money into your PC.

I would like to say thanks to squall_leonhart
    for posting this Solution.

If you are a developer you have to dump the original textures, if you just want to play it, you don't have to extract anything

Yea, I just want to play it. There's a folder named SKY_HIGH, no matter where I put it. The skies don't appear in the game.

I'm having the same problem. The sky look AMAZING in those screenshots.
I'm using Project64 1.6 with Rice's Video Plugin 6.1.1 beta 10.

I've even pulled out EVERY OTHER redone texture, in case the sky textures were conflicting with other ones... but that's not the case. They were the only ones in the THE LEGEND OF ZELDA folder.

It even went through the loading process, showing that it recognized that there were textures there... but they DON'T show up. Any ideas?

I've tried the Glide64 plugin. I've tried running under openGL instead of directx. Nothing works.

Hey thanks, Mode7. Haha, you'd be the one to know. You created the skies. Fantastic, by the way!!

Keep up the good work guys!! This game is loads more fun with all the new eye candy. =)

great work, mode7!
just a short question, where shall I post finished textures I'd want to contribute to this project, here or on 64redux (or the other site that seems a bit dated)?

Nice to hear you are going to contribute!
You can either post it here or on the 64redux forum.
You could also send it to me and I will add it to the project page at n64redux.
You'll find my email adress there to.

so here's the link to the files, but there are just eight or so, don't expect too much.

the diamond and the wall (temple of time) textures are based on existing textures whilst the rest is (if I remember correctly) original work.
also if you want I can send you a complete structure for managing your texture files (I recently messed with oot textures and it really helps to get them all orginazed in order to find a specific texture)

Thanks for the textures!
Could you point out for which areas in the game they are meant for?
What kind of structure do you mean? Sounds interesting.

Bist du auch aus Nürnberg?

The black-and-white panels are text backgrounds when some talking is going on (the wooden one is made from a photo, the "normal" one is just an improved version of the one in other texturepacks, I always deemed it too small there), the diamond and the numbers are for the hud and the wall is for the temple of time. the strange silver triangular thingie is my shot at the mirror shield texture while the white arrow goes into the "in-text-stuff" department. btw I'm working with the us version of the game, so not all textures may work in the european one.
However, the structure I'm talking about is the folder structure I'm using in order to organize the images into meaningful sections, for example "Textures-Wold Art-Kokiri Forest". Is that clear enough?

Sagen wir's mal so: Nürnberger Umland.

ah ok I will add them to the downloads. Some of this is nice work but it seems somehow incomplete like the tekmple of time.
Structuring is a good idea, I do that to have you already dumped all the textures that belong in there? That would be really helpful.

Wo genau im Nürnberger Umland?

Yeah, it in fact is incomplete, most of the other stuff I did is just editing existing textures to look better or fit the mood of the location. And that's because I have no idea how to create good-looking textures from scratch and my image-editing experience is close to nil. Regarding the structure: It's filled with highres textures from virtually all existing projects for OOT (mixed to give the best overall look), not the original dumps, but it could nevertheless be helpful (it's near completion as far as I can tell). Just tell me if you can make good use of it.

Im Norden, so ca 20 Minuten Autofahrt.
