What's new
  • Most issues reported these days stem from users not enabling their emulators to use the required amount of RAM.
We also tend not to use the search feature but post our issues within the texture pack release page.
Failure to load a texture pack should not be posted in the release thread unless you have already patched the emulator.

If you don't have the resources to use Large/HD texture packs please do not attempt to do so.
Users should have a minimum amount of System RAM not less then 4GB's.
If you have less then 4GB's of RAM do not post about how your emulator crashes,
RAM is dirt cheap so invest some money into your PC.

I would like to say thanks to squall_leonhart
    for posting this Solution.

If it's possible for SM64 it's only a matter of time till this is possible for Zelda too.
Until then we should try to convince the people at zreomusic.org to alow their work to be used ;).

Wow this is interesting, still they are only swapping the music. Loading it externally is another cup of tea, though there has to be a possibility.

Hello!
I really admire your work mode7 and I hate not being able to help on such a great project. Though, I would like to help you with web host if you would need that so you can upload to something else than Rapidshare or megaupload. Also, you could upload your backups of the project there so you don't loose anything again!

If you are interested then write an email to [email protected]

If not, then I hope you keep up the good work on this project. =)

This is turning out to be a really classic piece of work. I think it'll sit up there with Djipi's cel-shaded pack when it's done. How is progress coming along mode7?

Jupiter

Just a Jupi.
The rock wall in the first shot looks a little strange from that angle, but that's more due to the model than fault in your texture. I can't imagine you could make it look any more natural without sacrificing the believability of the adjacent wall in turn.

At first, I didn't like the contrast in tone between brick textures on the castle, but after a few minutes of looking at them together, I think I actually rather like it. The contrast breaks up the monotony a bit. I can't remember if that contrast was there originally or not, just that this was the first time it actually struck me.

Excellent work, as always.

Would any of you be interested in helping port re-texture specific projects over to www.n64redux.com? We've created a central location for these kinds of projects. This will allow for discussion, projects, files, tutorials, plug-ins, etc., to all reside in a central location for the end users.

I don't really have the bandwidth to do big uploads, but I'll be supporting the new forum. South Africa is like the world's most expensive country for bandwidth costs lol.

You look like you've got your hands full there replayty - not to mention the Zelda community project plus the ones in your sig.

Do you have a link for those projects btw?

I did all the skies as I promised long ago.
This was far more work than I expected since they consist of over 450 textures. But it was worth it!
Special thanks go out to microdev for his HiRes-Easer tool.

They are rendered and therefore aligned, so the transitions are really nice to watch.
The resolution is 4096x512 without the top (which is additionally 1024x1024).
So you will need A LOT of Vram (Maybe I'll do a smaller version).

Is there a way to use DXT texture compression with rice? I think this would improve performance a lot.

I consider this as a standalone release for the community project - though I'm working on Zelda atm just for fun.

Concerning Mario: It's not death but I can't be bothered working on it right now.

Well, where do you have to extract the textures to make it work, what's the path?

the "Currently Editing" section is all about hex editing, like using Toad's Tool and Text Wrangler to overhaul Mario 64, or Lazy Shell to edit nearly everything in Supe Mario RPG, and Lunar Magic (nne)

I just want to say those clouds are AMAZING Mode7!!!!!

450 textures for the sky's??!!! WOW! Great job!

ReplayTy, do you think any of those programs you mentioned may help me redo the text in Castlevania LOD?
