What's new
  • Most issues reported these days stem from users not enabling their emulators to use the required amount of RAM.
We also tend not to use the search feature but post our issues within the texture pack release page.
Failure to load a texture pack should not be posted in the release thread unless you have already patched the emulator.

If you don't have the resources to use Large/HD texture packs please do not attempt to do so.
Users should have a minimum amount of System RAM not less then 4GB's.
If you have less then 4GB's of RAM do not post about how your emulator crashes,
RAM is dirt cheap so invest some money into your PC.

I would like to say thanks to squall_leonhart
    for posting this Solution.

Just want to start by saying how good a job you're doing. Everything looks really good.

One thing, though, is that certain letters and numbers don't appear to be replaced properly when using the "older textures" pack from the n64redux site. The textures themselves are there, but they don't show up in game. I'm specifically referencing the the capital letters P and Z. Also, the numbers 0 and 8 appear fine in the rupee count, but every other number is the original texture. On the other hand, in dialogue, 0 and 8 are blurred while all of the other numbers are fine.

I know it's a bit nitpicky, and I've attempted fixing it myself and realize how difficult it really is, but it would be nice if somebody more experienced could fix these little things, just to perfect the text.

@mode7 I wouldn't know pal, I just have ideas about what would look good but I haven't got the faintest idea or skill with making textures or their limitations.....I am pleased you will look into that about the steps though for Kakariko that would be cool if you were able to add little details like grass spurts on the steps to add to the realism and immersion, after all 9 times out of 10 it's the little things and little details that count the most isn't it ? :)

@thommo: I'll see what i can do. I'm currently going over kakariko and redoing some stuff.

@Buck: The letters in the screens are not part of the pack. Someone lese did them. I don'T know who - perhaps xenobound, federelli or mdtauk.

If i find out, I'll ask for permission. If I don't get it, perhaps there is someone who is willing to do them, I have the right font.

The most complete High res oot retexture pack

I have Finished combining some of the better texture packs including work from federelli, djipi, Mode7, and Zeth. I altered many of the textures so that all of the packs would work together. I also added a lot of my own textures to make the pack more complete (includes around 5,500 textures) To download my pack you can go to: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=ENR61416 To see what you can expect you check out some pictures from http://s734.photobucket.com/albums/ww346/tony112989/?newest=1/ Also, note that my included read me file includes attribution to the featured authors. For any questions or comments you can email me at [email protected]

90% complete? really
I hope you give credit to the original authors who did these.
Are those Xenobounds or Federellis textures?

Okay, so I'm working now on organizing everything into folders (to make editing easier), plus I have made many modifications to make a quite impressive pack (and I'm only using graphics that look similar to OoT, none of that cel-shaded stuff). I should be done sometime this week.

I'm using a mix of Mode7's and Tonloc's textures.
Right now I'm working on consistency (correct flowing of one texture to another) and redoing the painted backgrounds of the inside of houses.

What kind of filter do you use? 'cause i tried it with Blowup and it looks pretty mcuh the same - only a few edges are sharp.

Hey talkingzeg, I noticed that your adding on to my pack. I just updated my link but since you're also organizing the files ill just send you a link to only the textures that I updated, which is http://www.megaupload.com/?d=DK62B6TC

mode 7, a lot of the original oot textures that I updated were filtered (with adobe photo shop) using paint dabs, then accented edges, then rough pastels, then the texturizer, then plastic wrap, and then I would change brightness/contrast and the color balance when necessary. It takes a lot of trial and error but it's worth it ive look at this pick to see what im talking about: http://s734.photobucket.com/albums/ww346/tony112989/Texture filter/?action=view&current=gfg.jpg

Mode7, I love the direction you're taking. I don't see why Federelli, Kman, and the others used high but low resolution textures.

I'm using Tonloc's compilation and it looks great...but at best it looks like an early PS2 game.

Basically what I'm trying to say is I would love for you to finish your pack, 100%. Make the textures as crazy as possible, like photo realistic. That would be bad.

Also, can everyone work on Majora's Mask as well? I've never played that one. I really want to, but it's kind of hard to go back, you know? I haven't played Twilight Princess yet, but it seems darker and that's more my style.

Thanks everyone, you guys are talented artists, don't forget that.

PS:

Is it possible to increase draw distance in an N64 emulator? Like for example when you're traveling through Hyrule field a tree will pop out of nowhere.

Request: Can you make the zombies look...more like zombies? Scary? They look like blockheads, and easy. It seems the developers were lazy on them, or maybe they didn't want them to be scary, they wanted the game to be kiddy. That's the thing, I love Zelda, but I wish it was a bit more adult and dark, you know?

Ideas: Is it possible to replace the music in this game with some orchestrated versions?

Could we edit the script at all? I would add more depth to the game.

These are just ideas and suggestions, that's going to crazy lengths for a video game. But if it's possible all of that would be cool.

To answer your questions - yes some of the stuff you asked is possible - in theory - well in theory actually everything you asked is possible.

The only question is: Who will do it?
