  • Most issues reported these days stem from users not enabling their emulators to use the required amount of RAM.
We also tend not to use the search feature but post our issues within the texture pack release page.
Failure to load a texture pack should not be posted in the release thread unless you have already patched the emulator.

If you don't have the resources to use Large/HD texture packs please do not attempt to do so.
Users should have a minimum amount of System RAM not less then 4GB's.
If you have less then 4GB's of RAM do not post about how your emulator crashes,
RAM is dirt cheap so invest some money into your PC.

I agree with chaos in that I think the mirror shield needs to look like the original. Especially since the entire premise behind a mirror is that it is flat--the more embellishment that's put on it, the more (in real life) it would negate the effect of having a mirror that reflects light. Therefore, an overly embellished mirror shield defeats the purpose of having a mirror shield in the first place in my opinion.

@dcs78 Ok I'll add the spiritual stones in then.
But still the wall with the stained glass still doesn't work out.
1. Stick to the original stained glass idea in the original texture.
2. Where you have used a bevel it should be a indent.
3. The frame should be arched and the texture more stoney like then marble.

EDIT:
Tried some more work on those texture again

seems good, but can you post hires pictures? those are kind of small, and fine detail isn't viewable.

EDIT:
I made this for lulz

If you don't get the reference, highlight the text below
Toy Story (animated American movie)

On a related note, I love your work on Link's clothes Zeckron! Only thing I don't like is the Master Sword's grip on the hilt, otherwise PERFECT! Especially the grips on the gauntlets and the boots

the intersection joints showing through the texture is an issue with Rice Video's LOD, rather then an issue with the texture. same thing happens in Majora's mask.

ROFL! Dude, it reminds me of when I was a kid and I watched that movie CONSTANTLY! I had chicken pox right after that came out on VHS, and was too lazy to get up and change tapes, so I would watch that over and over. Ah, memories...

Thanks for the shout-out Chaoszerox! Unfortunately, I didn't make the handle grip for the master sword, that was already in the pack so I skipped it as I was afraid of being ridiculed for re-doing a re-do :bouncy:

Nice toy story reference, very funny :)

I kind of like the replacement logo... its not original but it fits the high quality ideal, as well as allowing more background gfx to be seen while its displayed :D

@Everyone - I agree about the mirror shield. Don't get me wrong, I love the retextured design, but it's a pretty big difference from the original. And considering what Cheiftain said about the reflection (reflection is based upon the original) then we have problems and really need to fix it.

I also agree with Squal about the intro-logo. The current redux version is incredible. I don't know who made it, but it's a fabulous piece of art. Can it be done better? Yes I'm 100% sure it can (as could every texture that's been done), but the current one is fan-freaking-tabulous. There are many other textures in the game that need attention.

@IanSkelskey - that bomb looks, well.... Da Bomb! I really like it. Nicely detailed, rough, and tactile. I totally love it!

But I'm retarded..... I forgot one of the "dungeon common objects": the metal bars blocking doors. It's the ones that block doors in which you need to trigger a switch.

For a refresher, here's the original:
http://i977.photobucket.com/albums/ae258/zeckron00001/MetalGrate1.jpg

Looks ok, and honestly there's not a lot you can do with it. But I gave it a shot (which is a small creative licence). It's a little rough, but I wanted to get an opinion before smoothing it and highlighting some details:
http://i977.photobucket.com/albums/ae258/zeckron00001/MetalGrate2.jpg
http://i977.photobucket.com/albums/ae258/zeckron00001/MetalGrate3.jpg
http://i977.photobucket.com/albums/ae258/zeckron00001/MetalGrate4.jpg

If it passes, I'll work on cleaning it up a bit. If not, then I suppose I could try to re-create the original (one single metal bar in the texture, tiled several times) but it will be difficult.

@IanSkelskey I like the bomb.

@Zeckron I think the gate looks great as well!

@Death--Droid Here is the current WIP. Changed frame to fit theme and changed overall texture as well as gave it a darker feel to fit the stonework I've done for the rest of the room. Though the stonework needs to be redone. In saying that I should stick with the original stained glass does that mean Ganondorf in stained glass is ok or should I look for something different. I've a couple of ideas but nothing really hits home so far.

@Zeckron: That grate looks pretty good to me, but maybe further opinions from the community will help to give further insight
I think it changes the original feel too much. It went from thick, rough, solid steel rods into thin fancy ones. Also the lighting on the fancy parts vs the straight parts is too much contrast. Maybe if it was thicker, stronger looking and less fancy curls

EDIT:
http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o34/DCS78_PB/normal_05-al-linkandganon.jpg
I would try to do something along the lines of what they did in this picture, but try to ignore the waterpainting element of it. Don't put something into the game that wasn't there is what I want to say. Other than that the outer parts are better, but is that ur highest res ur making?

EDIT: I've done a 100% complete (please correct me if I am wrong) dump of all of the textures that are in the bow, arrows and everything from when you shoot any of the 4 arrows (normal, fire, ice, light). I don't think I'll start re-texturizing it anytime really soon, but I wanted to get the dump finished as I had already started it. This pack includes 15 textures along with labeling (folder names) and some folders have txt's with explanations. Feel free to start on it if you like.

P.S. I'm slacking otherwise, time to get back to work!!!!!!

I worked on this texture a while back, but I didn't like it enough to release it at the time. Since then I have decided to get a community opinion before I go back and do it again. These are the spikes from Spirit Temple. If you mess up climbing the wall you're hit by...

Version 5
http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff70/num1narutofan/V5-1.jpg

I'm not sure if this is a dungeon common object or not. This is from spirit temple by the way. It spins around as as obstacle.

As I can remember its in the Gerudo training ground, Ganons Tower and the Dodongos Cavern, it might be elsewhere, but thats all I can remember off the top of my head.

Hey guys. I guess I'm pretty much gone now.
IF you want me to do something, though, like finish the interface icons, then just send me the textures and request in an email: [email protected]

Peace :D

@ DCS78 - Personally, I love the idea of a mosaic stained glass window of Gannon. But I think what Death--Droid is getting at, is that it shouldn't actually be of Gannon. Rather, just a regular stained glass window.

I say give it one more shot and see if it sways him. Perhaps you should use one of the stained glass window pictures from CGTextures.com as the base for the actual little panes of glass. That's what I did several pages back with the stained glass window door I made. The colors and glassy texture I made in photoshop (with gradients, painting, and the "glass filter" of course) but the outlines for the panes of glass came from a real stained glass window. Just a thought.

@Chaoszerox - I'm glad you posted that spikey thing. I totally forgot about it! I'll work on that next when I finish the metal grates. I see now what you were talking about concerning the difference between the orginal and my version. My version indeed looks a little too thin and weak. Little too ornate. I'll start over from scratch and see if I can come up with something a little beefier.

@Lewa - sorry to hear you're leaving us man. You've done some awesome work, and I hate to see you go. Best of luck to you in whatever you do!

@Everyone - Progress has been slow lately, waaaay busy with work. Once things calm down a little next week, I'll be able to pick it back up. My new graphics tablet pen just came in today, so I'm trying to get used to it :) Gonna be cool.

Gratz on your tablet. I really wish I had one! Not only for photoshop, but for a game I play (sig). I'm still working on the Master Sword. Waiting for thoughts on the rock floor. All I want to do to it as of now is make the space inbetween the rocks smaller and make it overall lighter.

@chaos--Actually, it looks to me like the rock floor doesn't tile correctly. There's a fairly obvious seam running from the bottom-center of the image up toward the intersection of two walls in the background. I think the concept is fine, though.

@everyone--So I guess I'm going to get off my lazy butt and get back to work. It's the weekend, so I see no reason why I can't crank some textures out in my time off. Since lewa's left us (sadly), I guess my first goal is to get Jabu Jabu's "mask" taken care of. Then the rest of the fountain (which should be relatively easy). Then, we'll see what comes up next...

Did lewa ever finish the water temple? I may try to wrap that up.

Edit--should I be making Jabu's mask metal... or what? There's no supporting detail in the original to tell--Zeckron, you have any thoughts (you always seem to pick up on this sort of stuff).

It was so obvious I forgot to list it. LOL!

Good luck on those textures :teehee:

I'm just getting back working now...
