What's new
  • Most issues reported these days stem from users not enabling their emulators to use the required amount of RAM.
We also tend not to use the search feature but post our issues within the texture pack release page.
Failure to load a texture pack should not be posted in the release thread unless you have already patched the emulator.

If you don't have the resources to use Large/HD texture packs please do not attempt to do so.
Users should have a minimum amount of System RAM not less then 4GB's.
If you have less then 4GB's of RAM do not post about how your emulator crashes,
RAM is dirt cheap so invest some money into your PC.

I would like to say thanks to squall_leonhart

OK, here's the link for the Poe's in one zip as well as the compiled original PNG's. If anyone wishes to convert them and add them into the game, then I've only one stipulation: take a screenshot of them once they are in there and post it up. :)

Oh, and if someone has a p64 save game state for the game, could they upload it? Been looking everywhere for one and I can't be arsed playing the game from the very start again.

Here's my work on the damage effect so far

This is what it looks like in-game
damageeffect.jpg

damage effect is shown when Link is hit by an enemy attack.
The textures are displayed in very quick succession like frames in a movie.
There are 8 frames.
The order of these frames according from first to last in the texture names are as follows:
Code:
1 "THE LEGEND OF ZELDA#5CEAC419#4#0_all.png"
2 "THE LEGEND OF ZELDA#E3092A16#4#0_all.png"
3 "THE LEGEND OF ZELDA#DB3C0345#4#0_all.png"
4 "THE LEGEND OF ZELDA#F4A0B048#4#0_all.png"
5 "THE LEGEND OF ZELDA#4A77D168#4#0_all.png"
6 "THE LEGEND OF ZELDA#241C3976#4#0_all.png"
7 "THE LEGEND OF ZELDA#48687E94#4#0_all.png"
8 "THE LEGEND OF ZELDA#94BA97E0#4#0_all.png"

Here are the actual frames numbered from 1-8

frame1.png
frame2.png
frame3.png
frame4.png
frame5.png
frame6.png
frame7.png
frame8.png

You'll notice that it seems to break off in kind of an explosion and disappear more each frame. I have version 1 of the first frame redone
frame1redone.png

But I'm not sure how to approach the other 7 frames...

If you are using emboss or other filter, you should just have to choose the same settings for each frame.

You may even be able to make a small linear change to the setting with each sucsessive frame for a different effect.

@Blooped Out: I just had a chance to download your paintings. I'll slice & dice them up, and post lots of screenshots soon!

@Chaoszerox: Great start to the animation; can't wait to see the other frames!

@Djipi: Glad you're showing interest in the community project! Thanks for the feedback, but honestly I don't understand what you're trying to say. Can you reword it? Or if english isn't your first language, post it in your preferred language and I'll try to do a translation on it. I *think* you meant you preferred a keyhole. But I just want to make sure.

@Zeckron english is not djipi's first language but as far as i read i think he means you need a spot for the key to go XD. Also can't wait for you to slice up Blooped Out's work, I'd love to see it in game.
@chaoszerox can't wait to see the completed effect

BloopedOut's Poe Sister Paintings!

Allright folks, here are some screenies of BloopedOut's AWESOME Poe Sister paintings :)

I got as close as I could, b/c as you know they disappear when you get within a certain distance. But they all turned out good, and look totally great in-game!

Truly wonderful work Blooped-Out! How about a round of applause for BloopedOut!!! :)

EDIT: BloopedOut - Here's the game save you had requested.

I got you far enough along that you don't have to solve any other puzzles or get keys to view your paintings. Actually though, you should thank Chaoszerox for uploading all of his game saves. Without his help, I too would have needed to start the game all over again :) Thanks Chaoszerox!

Ok (whew), it's going to be hard to follow that act but we have to try :)

What's behind door number 1?

http://i977.photobucket.com/albums/ae258/zeckron00001/Door1.jpg
http://i977.photobucket.com/albums/ae258/zeckron00001/Door2.jpg
http://i977.photobucket.com/albums/ae258/zeckron00001/Door3.jpg
http://i977.photobucket.com/albums/ae258/zeckron00001/Door4.jpg

32X the original, 5 shades of stained glass (used the glass filter to make it look like actual real stained glass for ultra-close viewing), decorative metal overlay, fine-grained stained wood frame. Overall it's a tad lighter than the original, so if it needs more darkening that's an easy fix.

@Death--Droid: you never mentioned that you *agree* with Djipi's opinion concerning the bossroom door lock, so until you do I'll consider you like it as it is XD.

Gotcha Double D.

Honestly the idea of changing the nose into a keyhole almost made me sick. But now that I'm looking at it, reallly it's not half bad. Try this version out and let me know:

http://i977.photobucket.com/albums/ae258/zeckron00001/LockBig4.jpg

BTW: I've been jamming out to some Zelda Reorchestrated (http://www.zreomusic.com/) lately and have been wondering when or who is going to crack the code so we can rock out to some incredible new zelda music. They've done it in Mario64 right? :)

O.O I don't really like the nosehole. Maybe replace the skull with a bigger keyhole and some designs coming around it.
The doors are very nice! Can the doornob be retextured?
That site is awesome!!!!!!!!!!
Also grats again to BloopedOut on the poe paintings!!
I think I'm moving on from that damage effect, for now...

@Zeckron that is a lot better. The only thing that i think needs fixing is the horns then it gets my tick of approval.

dunno. i tried again manualy copying files to make sure its not because of duplicates and i got the same problem. i even re-installed project 64 and glide and the problem still persists. i had this problem before when i had manualy put the textures into the hires folder from the links everyone posted before you pieced it together.

Thanks for the screens there, Zeck. They look really well in the game. It's hard to believe it's an N64 game over 10 years old. The textures everyone has put in there are amazing.
