  • Most issues reported these days stem from users not enabling their emulators to use the required amount of RAM.
We also tend not to use the search feature but post our issues within the texture pack release page.
Failure to load a texture pack should not be posted in the release thread unless you have already patched the emulator.

If you don't have the resources to use Large/HD texture packs please do not attempt to do so.
Users should have a minimum amount of System RAM not less then 4GB's.

@Chaos--I'm totally good with the sunrays you have... these things look almost cartoonish in-game, so I see no problem with keeping the texture fairly simple.

@Blooped--another work of art. Very nice. I agree with Zeckron on the "leaving it clean" thing--these things possess a very ethereal quality in-game, so I think they should be pristine/immune from overgrowth and the wear-and-tear of the ages. Looking forward to seeing Joelle.

Wonderful again! I don't think anyone on the project could have hoped for better =)

Here's my first version of the sun's face. Comments? Objections?

I may change everything, but I will likely keep it clean like I did with V1, no cheeks, or shadows besides a radial gradient in V1. I really don't know what to do for the nose...

...my only problem is the teeth/smile. I personally would prefer if there was some tapering at the ends of the smile (more like the original). The nose does kinda look funny, but I don't think there's any way around that, really. Otherwise, great!

Lol--that helped, but it wasn't quite what I had in mind... What I meant (and I wish I had thought of these words in the first place), was to pinch the smile in at the corners, like this:

At least, that's the rough idea... hope you get my meaning.

Edit: @chaos, check your PMs.

The Great Gunblade Wielder
I guess the Equipment icons are getting reworked, as the recent ones aren't in the 3.1 pack? (except a newer version of the goron bracelet.)

@Chaoszerox - Sorry man, I hate to say it but those railings look a little flat. If you're using photoshop's bevel&emboss (which I hope you are), you're better off changing the direction of the light to either the left or right side instead of straight up 90 degrees. Try 135 (left) or 15-45 (right) set out far away. The base texture itself looks good (sandy stone). But lacks the look of 3 dimensions.

The sun face and rays look great. Excellent work. The eyes have that anime look, which normally turns me off (despite the fact i love anime; i just think it doesn't have a place elsewhere) but in this case it looks great! Teeth and mouth look good, along with cleaning up the nose (you should always keep your nose clean :) )

Ok, several hours later after some adobe illustrator and photoshop madness I finally churned out 3 new textures from scratch. The chains on locked dungeon doors, the regular silver metal locks, and the gold master boss door lock. I took creative licenses on the chains (added narly spikes, all done from scratch in illustrator cuz I couldn't find anything good online) and also the skull on the master boss door lock (definitely wanted to amp it up!). All of them are 64X the original size (except the chains are 32X)

I worked sooooooo long on the damn master boss door lock, so if something doesn't look right please let me know and I'll try my hardest to fix. Otherwise, I can revert to a normal looking lock if necessary.

Sorry, but the "horns" on the boss door lock are stretches. I haven't figured out a good way to control them b/c the pixels are taken from some spot on the outside frame of the lock itself. But really, they don't look that bad.

The chains and master boss door lock took so much time. Possibly the longest I've spent on any two textures. But that's b/c I had to make them from scratch, and used several techniques I haven't used before. But even if they don't make the grade, it was well worth it b/c I learned a great deal in the process.

EDIT: @Blooped-Out, in case I didn't mention it before, your last Poe Sister painting is just like the others (totally bad-ass!) except I think it's even better. If you'll provide a link to the original PNGs (or whichever format you choose) I can convert them and dice them up into the 4 slices in which the game uses. It's your call.

About the railings. I made it 90 degrees straight up because I didn't want to have it effect the left and the right sides, so it would tile horizontally like the original. Remember I really go for not changing it too much from the original. This is the only reason I post the originals with every texture I do.

Your locks and chains are awesome! The only problem I have is the regular locked doors. The chains/locks look too realistic with the background of that door, and maybe a little bit less contrast on the lighting highlights on the chains. Otherwise I wouldn't change anything. The spikes on the chain was a great idea! Superb work! :) We'll need keys of equal quality for a matching set!

I've also found out something today. Every visual element in the game has a texture, walls, sprites, shields, SPECIAL EFFECTS, AND EVEN LIGHTING (not all lighting). Knowing this I'm starting to working on some of the lighting and special effects, such as the effect of Link being hit and damaged. More to come tommorow

@chaoszerox awesome work I love it how you stay so true to the original texture most of the time.
Ok with the sun face you need to add more detail to the face as it seems more like a cell shaded art work then a hi-res texture even tho it looks very nice.
@Zeckron very nice work on the locks!

@Chaoszerox - glad you like them. I hear ya on the door not looking as realistic as the dang lock! :) Maybe Death--Droid will let me retexture that door one day. My next project will be to retexture those doors with an actual door knob. It should be fun. I also hear you on the highlights on the chains, thanks!

Hey you're going to re-do the special effects? That would be great! I had kicked the idea around awhile back but I have no talent for animation so i thought best if someone else did them.

Can't wait to see you get started.

Chaoszerox , your sun face is wonderfull , just the noze isn't good but the rest is simply amazing.

Zeckron , the LockBig isn't really good . If You would like to make a monster face on it , you MUST introduced a all to put the key on it.
