The grass in Zelda: Majora's Mask looks strange and then everyonce in a while, for about half a second, it looks correct. Also, the gold sword is black.

Mario Kart64

Hello

I'm still getting black boxes around mario kart characters while using the pixel shader combiner on the latest release of rice plugin, as seen in the first shot.

if I fully check the "normal blender" checkbox while in game, the black box get's replaced by somewhat transparent one, (it still blocks the image) as seen in the second box.

my pc is an XP 2600+ with 512ddr on dual channel and GF4 TI4200.

thanks a lot for your excellent work rice!

Make sure you have 5.4.3b, and use the INI file from the package. You somehow have messed the depth buffer setting.

Hi everybody. This is my first post there, and i have to report some issues with Rice Video (and older versions of Rice Daedalus).

I don't used 1964 as my main emu until i get 0.9.9. It's very good BUT the graphic part is a real pain for me.

I only have three N64 ROMs: DOOM 64 (PAL version, because US version is damaged), Kirby 64 and Mario 64.

I still not found an optimal setting for play Doom. I've tested with a lot of plugins: Jabo Direct3D 6 and 7, Rice Daedalus 5.2, 5.3, and 5.4.x series, and Glide 64 (with eVoodoo 3), with DirectX 9.0 (not a, not b). Image gets too dark in some parts (like Doom menus and status bar), and with an good ilumination in the rest of the game. But while playing, i get good speed but a molest red layer covers all game screen!. And the intro sequence does not have textures. Fortunately, software clipper wiped out all clipping issues that i had experienced in previous Rice Daedalus versions. I attach several screenshots describing better the problems.

-defaultconfig.png: Shows my default settings for plugin
-doomnotextures.png: Missing textures on intro movie
-doomredlayer.png: Free blood from plugin?
-doomsettings.png: Plugin settings for Doom
-doomtitle.png: Too dark letters, but logo appears very bright.

If i use Jabo D3D, image appears moved to down part of screen, hiding status bar, and instead of the gun, it appears a black shape (like a placeholder). I get optimal picture using Glide64 and eVoodoo, but with a very dark picture (i must play with my monitor bright settings :D), but no glitches, no gfx bugs, and with a not-so-bad speed, unless if monsters appear, making the game to run too slow...

So, i know that my graphic system are pure crap (see my system specs above), and my Celeron is pure s**t, but i can't get a better pc (no money :(...).
I need to found an optimal settings set for my computer... but i am not near of this.

Can somebody help me (and explain me that "free blood" from Rice Video?)

Try playing it on Glide64 + Evoodoo but make sure you go into the options menu (in the actual game) and move the brightness slider as high as it will go.

As I recall this game was natuarally far too dark even on the real N64, whether emulation adds an extra layer of darkness I do not know. What I do know is many reviewers of the game when it was released remarked about the dark nature of the graphics :/

I have lots of Doom ports (PC, Mac, 32X, GBA and SNES), but the N64 one should be too dark??? I've played with the brightness control, and not worked... And the "Center screen" feature appears to be not working. I use Glide64 v0.5 with eVoodoo 3. Game works OK, with no glitches, but sometimes it becomes slow... And it does not work for Kirby and Mario!. I can play Kirby only with Rice Video, and with LOTS of gfx issues: For example, instead of sparks and such things, i got solid color squares. With Glide64, the game simply does not work, and with Jabo i got tons of 3D rendering issues, bugs and glitches.

There are more shots of the bugs, this time for Kirby 64. I know that this game causes too many HAL bugs (according with PJ64 ROM database). While running the game with Rice Video, i got some textures missing. But if i enable Normal Blender and Normal Combiner, missing textures reappear, with BIG black bars, or semitransparent white bars, and some elements become blank (status bar dissapears, Kirby feets and arms become white, and sometimes it appears a white crown in Kirby's head). And text for stars selectors appears black, instead of white with a black shadow. Rice Video 5.4.3 adds more bugs to "Select file" screen: some text appears compressed.

Attached shots descriptions:
-kirbyblacktitles.png: The star selector with the black text, instead of white
-kirbysettings.png: My Rice Video settings for Kirby
-kirbynblender.png: Using "Normal blender" shows some textures and enables some "bugs"
-kirbyselector.png: The "Select file" screen, with some compressed text, and transparency bugs
-kirbygfxbad.png: Instead of sparks, powder and such things, i get squares. In previous versions, i got "negatives" or "silouettes" of that stuff inside squares

Please everyone, post your videocard and the used combiner when posting problems. I think that that would help Rice a lot.
