ok, i know many people tweak their settings to suit (i do too), but on default settings for the plugin, F-Zero X starts fine, but it is unplayable during the game.
In the 5.4.2 release i found this:
Using Direct X default settings, 75Hz full-screen also.
The menus all work fine, all the settings etc, ntil the game starts, then it looks like i have got stuck in a big grey wall in quake 2 or something although i can still see my car skipping along some indefinable track.
With Software T&L enabled, there is a dramatic improvement, but the game flickers and flashes constantly. Missing pixels at points near the bottom right.
On Opengl default or with software t&l, the menu's are all screwed up, but the game itself actually looks pretty good.
In the 5.4.3b release:
Using direct X default settings resulted in the menu's being (only sometimes though) worse than in 5.4.2. No missing pixels tho. The game is now very playable and i thank you for your effort!!
OpelGl was very much the same kettle of fish as it had been before.
GFX card: Radeon 9700.
Proc: AMD Athlon XP "Barton" 2800+
OS: Windows XP sp1 + all updates.
DX9b installed.
I'm sure this post will probably get given some stick cause "why should anyone expect a game to work on default settings?"
well, a lot of people do, not just me.
Other graphics plugins work fine on default although these normally are opengl only (like gnl64 which works fine for THIS particular game) although some stuff doesnt work with those. Anyhow still a good graphics plug-in one day you'll get it 100%.
But this new release has made me a pretty happy chap
Thanks for enabling software t&l by default among other things!
