You can hide it by setting "N64 frame buffer emu" = "Hide".

More bugs - Mas problemas :-(

English: SiS Graphics sucks! :D

I got more bugs in Yoshi's Island:
Attachments:
yoshi_compressedtext.png: Compressed Nintendo logo, same bug occurs also with game info messages.
yoshi_missingzones.png: Missing picture zones, between screens?

My settings for Yoshi:
{e8d83723ec7c8e6b-45}
Name=YOSHI STORY
EnableObjBG=2
ForceScreenClear=2
AccurateTextureMapping=2
FastTextureCRC=2
EmulateClear=2
SelfRenderTexture=1
NormalAlphaBlender=2
DisableAlphaBlender=1
NormalColorCombiner=2
ForceDepthBuffer=1
FrameBufferEmulation=10
ScreenUpdateSetting=2

If i change settings (i don't remember if is "normal combiner", i get blank squares instead of text. And this game simply crashes when i enter Options screen (a 1964 bug??).

rice stated before that this game was broken a while ago. He knows. If you just want to play it then get daedelus d3d8 rel2 it runs the game pretty good. you can get it in the graphic plugins section under graphic plugins(archived)

ok, then try to set it to "Render-to-texture" or "Render-to-texture plus".

Rice, even with the pixel shader, which should be faster with the Radeon 9000 Pro
video cards, when higher levels of anti-aliasing are enabled, your GFX plugin with 1964 0.9.9 is slower than Jabo's GFX plugin 1.5.1 with Project64 1.5 when fullscreen. I think part of the problem is your GFX plugin currently don't have a triple buffer or double buffer option for fullscreen :(.

I tested the anti-aliasing speeds with Snowboard Kids 2 and Jabo's GFX plugin 1.5.1 under Project64 1.5 is faster, because with your GFX plugin under 1964 0.9.9, the audio starts stuttering like crazy with 4X anti-aliasing and higher anti-aliasing. Also, with Jabo's GFX plugin 1.5.1 under Project64 1.5, the audio didn't start stuttering.

Only double buffer is supported.

There are two double buffer modes: FLIP and COPY.

COPY is always used for windowed mode, no matter what.

The setting FLIP or COPY is only used for full screen mode. And for full screen, you should be using FLIP instead of COPY otherwise it will be very slow. If you have flickering in full screen mode with FLIP, you need to use the correct "Frame update at" option for the game.

Btw, pixel shader is not necessary faster than high-end combiners. In fact, pixel shader is usually slower, especially for higher resolution, at least on FX 5200.

Triple buffer option was removed because it didn't make sense for N64 emulation, and usually causes flickering.

Rice, can't you allow for the framebuffer settings to be changed in real-time?

Hm, it is not a smart idea to allow it changable in realtime, especially in the current situation that frame buffer features are just barely working.

Sh**, I guess the Radeon 9000 Pro has the same limitation as the GeForce FX5200, but *only* with higher levels of anti-aliasing.

I can set the anti-aliasing to the max with the high end combiner with Snowboard Kids 2 and Snowboard Kids 2 still is running at full speed!

Thank you, Rice.

ok, i know many people tweak their settings to suit (i do too), but on default settings for the plugin, F-Zero X starts fine, but it is unplayable during the game.

In the 5.4.2 release i found this:
Using Direct X default settings, 75Hz full-screen also.
The menus all work fine, all the settings etc, ntil the game starts, then it looks like i have got stuck in a big grey wall in quake 2 or something although i can still see my car skipping along some indefinable track.
With Software T&L enabled, there is a dramatic improvement, but the game flickers and flashes constantly. Missing pixels at points near the bottom right.

On Opengl default or with software t&l, the menu's are all screwed up, but the game itself actually looks pretty good.

In the 5.4.3b release:
Using direct X default settings resulted in the menu's being (only sometimes though) worse than in 5.4.2. No missing pixels tho. The game is now very playable and i thank you for your effort!!

OpelGl was very much the same kettle of fish as it had been before.

GFX card: Radeon 9700.
Proc: AMD Athlon XP "Barton" 2800+
OS: Windows XP sp1 + all updates.
DX9b installed.

I'm sure this post will probably get given some stick cause "why should anyone expect a game to work on default settings?"

well, a lot of people do, not just me.
Other graphics plugins work fine on default although these normally are opengl only (like gnl64 which works fine for THIS particular game) although some stuff doesnt work with those. Anyhow still a good graphics plug-in one day you'll get it 100%.

But this new release has made me a pretty happy chap :)

Thanks for enabling software t&l by default among other things!
