What's new
  • Most issues reported these days stem from users not enabling their emulators to use the required amount of RAM.
We also tend not to use the search feature but post our issues within the texture pack release page.
Failure to load a texture pack should not be posted in the release thread unless you have already patched the emulator.

If you don't have the resources to use Large/HD texture packs please do not attempt to do so.
Users should have a minimum amount of System RAM not less then 4GB's.
If you have less then 4GB's of RAM do not post about how your emulator crashes,
RAM is dirt cheap so invest some money into your PC.

I would like to say thanks to squall_leonhart
    for posting this Solution.

@hyperion86 that's brilliant, now as Xenobond you need to move the lamps up a bit so they don't get clipped by the shelves.

@Everyone Just thought I would let everyone know I've implemented Calvino's animated texture method, it does still need some work but I'm going to upload it anyway.

http://code.google.com/p/emu-1964/downloads/detail?name=1964 Rice Video R73.7z

Heres the explanation written by Calvino on how to use it :p
Code:
MARIOKART64#334564F1#0#2_all.png
MARIOKART64#334564F1#0#2_alt0_all.png
MARIOKART64#334564F1#0#2_alt1_all.png
MARIOKART64#334564F1#0#2_alt2_all.png
MARIOKART64#334564F1#0#2_infos.txt

the "alt" is for "alternative", and the txt consists of the following content:

Code:
# COUNT
3

# SHUFFLE
no

# PERIOD
60000

# SYNCHRONIZED
yes

COUNT is the number of alternative textures

SHUFFLE gives the ability to choose randomly a texture amongst the set (by default, the plugin will loop sequentially on the textures: alt0, alt1, alt2, base, alt0, alt1, and so on)

PERIOD is the number of milliseconds a texture should be displayed before switching to the following one.

SYNCHRONIZED provides a way to synchronize the change of several textures simultaneously. For toad's turnpike, I had to implement this feature in order to switch the walls and road at the same time for example. If the "synchronized" flag is set to "no", the texture will work as a "standalone" texture, on its own. This fashion can be seen in the video if you look carefully at the ghosts ;) There can be only ONE set of synchronized textures. You can't tell the plugin: "synchronize this texture with this one, this one, and this one" for example. But it still was quite useful for me to have this option.

So everyone give a good round of applause to Calvino for his work, I will try to optimize it as much as I can, and try to fix any issues as they come up.

Great work!! It will add new possibilities for texturing backgrounds. I'm hoping to see Datadayne back alley house soon :)

@Calvino
great work on the animated texture method!!

@Xenobond
Thanks. Moved the lamps up fix the clipping.

I have changed the counter texture and added a better texture to the shelves.

When buying something, we can see better the shelf texture.
Also, the background image is different, made of many small images. I'll do it when the main one is finished :)

@DD Can you PLEASE add the correct revision number to the about section of the plugin, or in the plugin name, so people can verify what they are downloading.
It still says r46...

@hyperion the render is perfect now :) but the shelves that aren't part of the render, I think the texture resolution is too high, it has aliasing problems at that resolution unless my eyes deceive me >.<

I have smoothed the shelf texture, I believe it looks better now.

Here is my first release of the background and shelf texture.

I am working now on the bazaar background when shopping. It's going to take more time, as it is made of many small images, and for some reason images do not fit correctly even when they have been cut with precision.
The joins are more noticeable with higher resolutions. Any suggestions on how to deal with this 'panoramic' backgrounds are very welcome :)

@death--droid
Did you get a chance to test the bottles? There's no rush at all, just want to know if they are ok for the pack or if they need more changes ;)

I'll do that panoramic background dump for you. I've gotten quite good at dumping them. I should have it done within 24-48 hours

@Hyperion86 great job on the bazaar, hopefully chaoszerox can get the dump done quickly!
Also about the bottles, there absolutely fine with me, so they have being added to the pack!
@Chaozerox, I'll try and remember to change the revision number next time.

Imo, the bazaar could use a better texture for the stone ground and walls, but other than that it looks great. : ) Nice job

show some faith, these dumps aren't easy to do, they take a while to do. :p I only just finished
HyrulemarketBazaarpanoramicCOMPLETED.jpg

As you can see there are 4 textures missing. 60 textures were dumpable, but the last 4 I could not dump :(
However those aren't even viewable ingame, so it doesn't really matter.
Infact you can only see about 1/3 of the whole thing ingame
The originals seem to be rendered from 2 different camera angles and put together.

Am I the only one who can't get anti-aliasing to work with the 1964 plug-in? I get a "Can not initialize DX9, check your direct settings" error if it's on any setting other than 0xAA. Rice's plug-in does not have the same problem.

Edit: Also can't get full-screen to work with the 1964 plug-in with DX9.

For me the directx and opengl modes run about the same, both just as buggy (I believe)
without a frame-rate limit
opengl runs about 500 V/I s (something similar to FPS)
directx runs about 250 V/I s
I have an XFX nVidia 9800 GTX gfx card

If you have nVidia, use the Nvidia control panel to force anti-aliasing in 1964 emu (well I use 1964 emu anyway, I think it's better than pj64). I've very briefly read there is a similar tool for ATI

use ATI Catalyst Control Center... go to 3D/ Anti Aliasing and uncheck Use application settings and put the desired level...

De dump is great!!! Thanks :)
I'm going to continue with the background now.

I've been working on the 'panoramic' background of the bazaar, and as chaoszerox pointed out, only 28 out of the 60 images are shown, so I have only made those 28 for the moment.

For some reason the images in this background overlap each other, in the new ones, with resolution 256x128, they overlap 4 points over the bottom and 4 over the right side. I have fixed it, and tested it with the default configuration of the plugin, so if someone has problems with the background please tell me :)

Bazaar main background, panoramic background, shelf texture and arrow/joystick icons:

Also d-d, I'm not sure if the pointer arrows and joystick have been done already. I've made simple ones just in case, if they are already done please discard them :p

With the R73 plugin I get random crashes I did not get with r67.
It seems to always give the same crash error
Code:
800CF97C:Exception in emulation thread
@hyperion awesome work :)
The prerendered background has the wrong filename though
you have it as
THE LEGEND OF ZELDA#1D43D431#0#2_all.png
it should be
THE LEGEND OF ZELDA#48781E72#0#2_all.png
at least in my version of the ROM

I think duplicates of it with both filenames should be used, unless you put the wrong filename for your ROM hyperion

You can read about the different ROM (Cartridge) versions here:
http://www.zeldawiki.org/The_Legend_of_Zelda:_Ocarina_of_Time

Thanks for the observation.
I am using the Zelda Master Quest ROM, as I have the savegames there.
I thought that those textures where not affected.
Do the pointer arrows and joystick icons when shopping work?
Which ROM version are you using?

I am going to add the duplicate for future releases.
For the moment I'm uploading the missing texture.

Here is the link of the texture:

Hyperion, your work on the renders is great!
I'd love to see you doing more of them. Still I know it's a lot of work. So if you need any help perhaps with the donkey work of putting the panoramas together, I'd be more than happy to help out.
Of course the same accounts for Datadayne!
