What's new
  • Most issues reported these days stem from users not enabling their emulators to use the required amount of RAM.
We also tend not to use the search feature but post our issues within the texture pack release page.
Failure to load a texture pack should not be posted in the release thread unless you have already patched the emulator.

If you don't have the resources to use Large/HD texture packs please do not attempt to do so.
Users should have a minimum amount of System RAM not less then 4GB's.
If you have less then 4GB's of RAM do not post about how your emulator crashes,
RAM is dirt cheap so invest some money into your PC.

I would like to say thanks to squall_leonhart
    for posting this Solution.

@Mode--very impressive! Looking forward to the finished product. Have you figured out how to precisely match the camera angle of the original texture?[/QUOTE]

I used image match to align it in sketchup and then exportet the camera from sketchup to vue but everything in there and rendered it.

As you can see the windows are missing and a few textures also, the trees have a strange color and the mountain could use more detail.

Great modelling. I would suggest you use textures which will feature in the game, and perhaps add some detail to the Temple of Time, so it doesn't look so tiled with its texture. Vines or patches of dirt.

This is one I worked on for Djipi's cel-shaded pack

That's very nice Mdtauk, you never ended up releasing those did you?
I agree with trying to add some more detail to the temple.

Here's the two signs. I tried to make my own wood textures but no matter what they all just looked a bit fake and not as detailed as a photo real, in my opinion. I played around with them a bit so the middle section wasn't as noticable and so it looked more natural as a whole.

Also, the soil (up not down this time)

http://img84.imageshack.us/img84/640/soil.jpg

I'm thinking maybe making the middle more rounded and not as square..

@Phillip There a lot better but the soil still needs some work, the edges of the dirt mount should be blurred. Also the overall texture should look more like a dirt mound rather than a square thing.

Anyway keep up the great work!

@Phillip the more mound with noticeable square pattern is the best.
Now all you need to do is blur the ends of the texture so it looks as if it blends in with the grass, which by the way you better use and corresponding hires grass texture to that area if it has already being made.

Keep up the great work.

As I said I'm still working on it, don't worry I wont forget the triforce.

@mdtauk: Needless to say that your modell is great professional work.
I remember you did a lot of the backgrounds for Dijpis Pack.
These models could be extremely valuable for this pack and you have contributed before.
Even if you don't want us to use/modify them. Maybe you can give us a tip on how you adjusted the camera angles (especially for the 360 BGs)

Hello everyone!

I just want to say that I've been following this thread for quite a while now and I really appreciate what you guys do and I hope that you will continue like that.Your work is dream of every Zelda freak ^^
Also I can offer you some help(if you need any) but I am really nooby at this stuff and I have to go through those tuts few more times ^^

Now to ask for help
I've been using Rice's video plugin(6.1.1 beta 10) and it's working great, very stable but it hardly loads any texture from high res folder...so I read somewhere that solution lies in changing video plugin to 1964 video plugin so I did so but even though it loads all textures as it should game crashes a lot now...I am stuck at Forest Temple and game crashes when I am about to climb up the ladders at that big labirinth room...Any help would be appreciated.

Here are my specs:

2,05 gigahertz AMD Athlon 64
120,02 Gigabytes Usable Hard Drive Capacity
1,5 GB RAM
ATI Radeon 9600 / X1050 Series

Also I am aware I shouldn't have asked this question here but I hope this is the fastest way to get some help...if it's necessary I will remove the part with question and open new topic at corresponding section.

In reality I only ever worked on 6 backgrounds, 2 of which I did release. One thing I never managed to do was to match the shot of the Temple of Time. I even tried to get the properties of the in-game camera but it never worked out, so I would be interested in seeing how you did your shot, and to know what software you are using.

If it is 3D studio max, then perhaps we can talk over MSN, and share info. When I was doing the backgrounds before, it was at a time when there was no way to load them in so it never went much further.

I may be able to help you convert the backgrounds I have done into something less cell-shaded. And you may be able to offer me advice on camera matching

But there where quite a lot of bgs for dijpis pack e.g. the market. Who did them?

For matching I used sketch ups photo match function. It might need some trial and error at this low resolution but then it works quite well. I used sketchup for modelling to. I'm not that good in 3d

I did the market. I just pieced the whole thing together (before hires easer), and drew over it. I also did a couple of the interiors in Kokiri village.

Glad to see some more collaboration.
I probably won't be making any textures any time soon, I'm working on another game to try and help boost my texturing skills.

read the 3D stuff on Photoshop CS5 (which I have now :p)
might make doing these rooms easier, since we're not using 3D models directly with the game, this might be easier?
I'll have to do a lot of trying it out before I try to actually make anything with it...

infact everything on that page and article is useful! especially the puppet warp!

@Chaoszerox everything is way to curvy in the original design most of it is just straight lines.
