What's new
  • Most issues reported these days stem from users not enabling their emulators to use the required amount of RAM.
We also tend not to use the search feature but post our issues within the texture pack release page.
Failure to load a texture pack should not be posted in the release thread unless you have already patched the emulator.

If you don't have the resources to use Large/HD texture packs please do not attempt to do so.
Users should have a minimum amount of System RAM not less then 4GB's.
If you have less then 4GB's of RAM do not post about how your emulator crashes,
RAM is dirt cheap so invest some money into your PC.

I would like to say thanks to squall_leonhart
    for posting this Solution.

@chaoszerox nice job on the metal grate it seems to fit right in, also about the flame texture please correct me if I'm wrong but i swear we already have a hires flame texture.
I searched for the same filename as I was using in my flame texture(which loaded fine) in the v4 pack and found this

THE LEGEND OF ZELDA#A5D550C9#4#0_all.png

http://www.mediafire.com/?mzkzizktj0y

The one from the v4 pack(above) does not load on my emulator, but the metal grate does...and so does MY flame textuee with the same filename as above. (tested in Spirit Temple)
The texture above is broken >.> dimensions or something isn't right. Is there another texture in the v4 pack that replaces the same flame?

@Chaoszerox there is one that was distributed with the V4 pack.
I'll have to take a look later.

Also everyone there is only 6 days before I upload the pack, which may not happen if I don't get enough new content.

I want to finish my rugs in Spirit Temple boss room, hopefully before the end of the weekend
EDIT:
;_; :(

I think I lost my work on these rugs :( Still looking....
EDIT2:it's gone, I'll move on and remake them entirely starting with a fresh dump :)
Also I just found, for me, for the 1964 emulator, using same plugins/settings

version 0.9.9 runs about 140 VI/s
while version 1.1 barely runs over 60 VI/s

I am completely blown away by this project... I just recently decided I'd play through OOT again. Played it as a kid, and this texture pack looks so awesome i'm speechless. Looks next-gen! Great work, and thanks for doing this.

Looking forward to (March 31st?) release.

The links in the first post all appear to be broken. Is there anywhere else I could download this pack?

Thanks!

@Chaoszerox may be because of some new features in 1964, sucks you lost your work on the rugs :(
@Jamrock990 Yes it should be a March 31st release if I have enough new content, also the first download link should work fine.

chaos can you upload your emu folder as i cant get 1.1 to run. i have been working on the textures in the shadow temple but haven't been able to try them out or post screenies. if i get 1964 working then i'll upload my work for the pack if i feel i have done enough by then.

Hey,

Not sure if this is the right place to ask, I'm new to the whole emulation process and from what I can see I have set up everything correctly for this texture pack to work but not all the textures seem to be loaded. I am also getting some weird graphical glitches, like moving textures for example the ground will sort of shimmer or move when I move the camera in Zelda and the N64 logo at startup will flash on certain parts of it.

The texture pack is in Plugins/hires_texture/**

I have the load hi-res textures if available option set. I'm using Rice Video 6.1.3 DX9 and I have tried with 1964 1.1 and PJ64 1.6 and it only seems to load some ground textures, and the deku shield is noticeable higher quality.

Sorry if this is wrong area to post this, but I'd love to use this pack! Anyone know what's wrong?

Thanks

Try the above emu/plugin which is:
1964 emulator version 0.9.9
1964 video r35 (revision 35)

Thanks chaos. That plugin displayed all the textures and it looks spectacular!

Still getting flashing textures and odd graphical glitches however. I thought it might be AA/AF but turning that off yielded no difference. I don't know if this is common or not, maybe it has to do with my computer specs.

For example, I will sometimes see a white block flash on the ground infront of link while running, or just other strange issues such as the ground appearing to move and the N64 logo does it every time. White flashing boxes on certain areas of the logo. Hope that explains it well enough :)

I am using an HD5970 and [email protected]. All I could think if this is not a common issue is that it is a crossfire problem or quad-core issue?

Anyway, let me know if you need any more info or if this is the wrong place to post this but thank you for the help so far.

P.S. - Sorry, is there a way to transfer a save file from PJ64 to 1964 or vice versa? I started playing last night on PJ64 but the save doesn't show up using 1964. I tried copying the save files from PJ64 into the save folder in 1964 with no luck.

P.S. #2 - Again, sorry for all these questions but you all seem very knowledgeable here. The sound is very choppy with Jabo's DirectSound 1.6. Is there a better one to use that works correctly with Zelda:OOT?

EDIT: Turning crossfire off didn't fix it. Does it with PJ64 and 1964 0.99.

Thank you much!!

What you described is a common issue with 1964 video, your case might be more severe than others, I can't say for sure. I have no idea what exactly causes it as I don't do coding, nor have I coded anything before besides some html lol
Maybe microdev or death droid knows more...

@Jamrock999 sadly I have no idea what could be causing that.

Looking good seftheserb, the texture just needs to be a little bit darker and it should be perfect.

My progress about 1/2 way to a finished texture
Spirit Temple boss carpet/rug
Alpha 1
http://i756.photobucket.com/albums/xx209/cahosanimex/2010 OoT work/bossrugalpha.jpg

Th border for the carpet/rug on the original looks like a rope to me, so yea, that obviously is going to change a lot LOL!
EDIT: alpha 2

original

The only major problem I spot so far is that the overall brightness needs to be lowered/it needs to be overall darker

Here's the old one I lost, from my old photobucket account

Even though it's been a while since he made them, thanks again Chieftain459 for the symbols :)

That is looking very, very nice Chaoszerox.
Can't wait to see the finished result.

On another note 4 days till the release of the new pack.
Hopefully Chieftain459 or Zeckron pops back up since they both had done a lot of work on two dungeons because if i remember right Chaoszerox and seftheserb is the only one actively working on a dungeon.

That's look great Steftheserb, the only problem i find with it is some of the tiling issues but that's to be expected when you have gone back and redone all the textures.

Keep up the great work!!!
