  • Most issues reported these days stem from users not enabling their emulators to use the required amount of RAM.
    We also tend not to use the search feature but post our issues within the texture pack release page.
    Failure to load a texture pack should not be posted in the release thread unless you have already patched the emulator.

    If you don't have the resources to use Large/HD texture packs please do not attempt to do so.
    Users should have a minimum amount of System RAM not less then 4GB's.
    If you have less then 4GB's of RAM do not post about how your emulator crashes,
    RAM is dirt cheap so invest some money into your PC.

Hey guys this is kind of a noob question but where do the textures dump to? I selected it on the Rice Video plugin, and I don't know where all the textures are dumping to.

look in these 2 folders, ignore the others for now, they don't have what you need

png_all

The following is a tool that can help you find the texture(s) your looking for once you've dumped them, you will need photoshop to use it, just follow the instructions on the page.

Well I tried 1964 and it wasnt working, kept getting some "cant read ini file" or something error, and then when I tried to change the plugin to rice, nothing was there.

Project 64 works, I just cant find the dump folder.

If you using Rice Video(1964Video) under windows vista or windows 7 you must run the emulator under administrator.

I downloaded the file in the OP, but it's a .7z file, not a bunch of pictures like I expected. Is this normal? I put in in a folder titled THE LEGEND OF ZELDA in Plugin > hires_texture and it doesn't load.

Edit: Never mind. I pulled my head out of my rear end and did my own research like a big boy. Thanks for all your hard work, everybody!

Spirit Temple, pillar - New work :)

I've done a new texture for Spirit Temple today! This pillar has one of the laser shooters (weak vs bombs) on it. I changed it up a bit on the border thing, tell me what you think of it!

Note for the png (psd has full res, 32x) I saved at 1/2 resolution(16x) to reduce aliasing

@DD In the following pic there is a wall torch that *might* be used elsewhere (than Spirit Temple), thus making these a dungeon common object?
Look at the single chain link(THE LEGEND OF ZELDA#089E2748#0#2_all.png) attaching it to the wall, it is also used elsewhere in the Spirit Temple

I haven't even dumped the grate that is the wall torch, might dump it and give it a try......

@chaoszerox it looks as if that texture might be in multiple places so yeah throw it in the common dungeon textures folder for now.
Also i reckon we can use those textures by federelli as long as we give credit to him and make sure there not Xenobonds textures.

@chaoszerox: I like what you did with the border! It looks like something that would actually belong in a temple (I'm not sure how to explain that better). I was going to say that the one diamond overlapping all of the others seems like it should be in the middle of the pillar, but looking over it again, I don't remember why.

After spending 5-10 mins looking at your work I've concluded that everything o her head is perfect except the ears, they simply need a re-angle and re-arrangement to fit the model in-game (take a close zoom up of her ears in the screenshot).

The only other thing I didn't agree on is her hairband, I think that really needs some work, it doesn't look like a headband at all to me, maybe u can redesign it entirely, without the bumps or whatever they are spaced out 15 times on the model.

P.S. She looks a lot better ingame than those screenshots

I'm REALLY looking forward to seeing you work on more characters, if it's texture dumps you need, I'm your man! Maybe I could help out working on the textures too :)

I was going to retexture the Bombchu game room in the hyrule market... Since moving to windows 7 and 1964 1.1 the community plugin my texture loading is well, acting up.

I'm not sure anything is loading for Zelda (but nothing that I can see is wrong, because Wave Race loads the high res textures just fine). Then I switched to Rice's and it's only loading select textures and not any of the Bombchu game I made so far...

This is true, and when this happens it's usually very simple to just modify the bricks you've already done. Just try to dirt up and expand the grout between the bricks themselves, and maybe just throw a grunge brush on top of all the bricks. Just make sure the grunge layer tiles seamlessly as well (check with the offset filter using 1/2 the image's dimensions).

The Dave, Rice Video has some small issues in Vista/7 but none that would prevent the texture pack from glitching overall, have you tried other emulators with that plugin in particular?

It's not your computer but the Rice plugin. The original Rice versions just support hires-textures up to 4x the size of the original ones. That's why it just displays some of the textures.

Oh no that's the crazy thing, the textures Rice ISN'T loaded are only 4x and have been loaded with Rice in the past on my Vista / .99 version.

Oh well, I'll try to trouble shoot it more when I get home I'll probably start a thread about it to try and corner the problem. Silly machines!

I thought it looked alright, so I didn't really try to change it... I'll experiment with it later today and see if I come up with anything, though.

I have a lot of textures that I need to sort out, but I know that I am missing some things, especially stuff that only shows up in cutscenes, and things I have to beat up Ganon/dorf to see again. Like adult Zelda and Rauru and a lot of Ruto's expressions. I'm trying to find savestates directly in front of the cutscenes I want but it isn't working. Bleh.
