  • Most issues reported these days stem from users not enabling their emulators to use the required amount of RAM.
    We also tend not to use the search feature but post our issues within the texture pack release page.
    Failure to load a texture pack should not be posted in the release thread unless you have already patched the emulator.

    If you don't have the resources to use Large/HD texture packs please do not attempt to do so.
    Users should have a minimum amount of System RAM not less then 4GB's.
    If you have less then 4GB's of RAM do not post about how your emulator crashes,
    RAM is dirt cheap so invest some money into your PC.

does he give his ok to use his stuff?
i would like to do the following:
  1. create a properly organized folder structure
  2. include federelli’s stuff (if possible)
  3. maybe create some html files showing assembled bigger pictures (did it for the main menu map)

were there some changes since the beta release? i wold like to send the files back (in the new structure) so that the page maintainer (you?) can upload them again in this form.

We will not be changing the folder structure unless any currently contributing artist thinks it needs a change also we will not be adding more of federelli's work unless i think it would help an artist with there work(give them a base for the texture(s))

EDIT:
Zoras River is in the pack but for some odd reason I have named it Grave Yard.
Also has anyone heard from Zeckron or Chieftan?

since i offer advice how to make texturing mure productive/beginner friendly, i am contributing:

there is the simple reason that the structure is not well thought out.
what about: DCS78/Iron Boots/Iron ?
dcs78: meaningless.
iron boots: is it an item icon? or a texture for links clothing? does not matter, the folder only contains a sub-folder
iron: again: meaningless. actually contains 2 iron sphere textures.

enough flaming, ths was only one example. there are good parts, too: the font-folder, for example, is great!
what about sth. like this:

enviroment
enviroment/gerudo valley

objects
objects/architecture
objects/characters
objects/characters/link
objects/characters/zelda


interface
interface/font
interface/icons
interface/ingame
interface/title menu
interface/game menu


you get the idea?
in our example, the iron texture would get into interface/icons or objects/characters/link or some other place, depending on what it is

btw: i made a handy script reporting duplicate files (only comparing filenames) in python (run it within the folder you want to check or give it a list of folders as arguments)
the output for each dupe is self-explanatory:

No. Federrelli has not given anyone the ok to repackage his textures with others.

The same goes with this kit. you can keep your modifications to yourself (unless you're contributing updates/fixed textures/new textures) but cannot redistribute a modified pack.

i don’t want to redistribute, i want to change the folder structure of the existing one and add textures myself. maybe someone knowing federelli can ask him if he wants to „fuse power“ with this project. he can’t be such a kiddy to say no ;)

PS: having that said, i realize it reminds me too much of the “gamefaqs”-paragraph in the encyclopedia dramatica article “You”. and i did’t mean to say something like that ;)

Wow I've missed alot out on these textures. I was searching around and I've seen a lot of new textures such as Saria's new design, and Malon's new design. They are turning out really good.

I'm glad people like those! (I need to redo Malon some time in the future, though, her eyes are the first texture I ever made for anything ever, so uh, they could probably use some work. As well as her face in general.)

Anyway...

Fado is definitely creepy >.>
everything looks fantastic, nothing I can see that could be better besides maybe mindo, I always imagined he had 3 little dimples or freckles on his cheek

I think they have a bit too much depth to them. Adding the border between them isn't a bad idea, but don't add too much depth, also make sure they go well with all of the other textures in the temple of time.

Other than that they look great :)

What about this? I tried to make that wide circle look less like a line and more like coloration of the skin with better blending. I used all of the colors you used, and made it twice the dimensions.

After 10s pushing into 100s of hours of work on this project I can't believe I've never thought of it before.
The most useful thing we (working on the project) could use that we don't already have is ALL OF THE ORIGINAL concept art from the ORIGINAL MAKERS OF THE GAME.

'concept art' in terms of game making is art drawn by a game designer, he paints (sometimes literally) his vision of the game on a 2D canvas, then the game modelers and texture workers recreate it in 3D, unfortunately this game was made when the 3D conversion was far too poor, which is what we (working on this project) are trying to fix....





The following has 2 do with 2 textures I dumped viewed from the bride to Hyrule market. The first foreground picture is stretch, making 3 wall-like things

I actually used a screenshot for the picture of the castle, one that was very hard to take because i had 2 do it in mid-air with the press 'l to levitate' cheat

You can see there's a lot of stuff you cannot see ingame in the texture, but there's no point to fix something you can only see ingame by cheating...

@DD i think it looks too much like they're in bunches of 4 tiles making up 1 big tile, I don't think the original had that, but I can't check now, going 2 bed, I'll check tommorow
