  • Most issues reported these days stem from users not enabling their emulators to use the required amount of RAM.
We also tend not to use the search feature but post our issues within the texture pack release page.
Failure to load a texture pack should not be posted in the release thread unless you have already patched the emulator.

If you don't have the resources to use Large/HD texture packs please do not attempt to do so.
Users should have a minimum amount of System RAM not less then 4GB's.
If you have less then 4GB's of RAM do not post about how your emulator crashes,
RAM is dirt cheap so invest some money into your PC.

I would like to say thanks to squall_leonhart

@Riddler: Shield ooks decently good. Now the middle part needs to be shaded to match the form of the outer part.

@Squall_L, thanks for the fix of the logo. I noticed it too after upgrading to V3, but thought it was an error on my part somehow :)

Sweet!! The boomerang looks great, I'm loving it!

The ruppee looks good but just doesn't fit or something. I'm not really sure why though. Just somehow looks a little out of place to me. Hard to explain.

Thanks :)
Is it that the ruppee is too Windwaker-ish?

Oh, and here's the texture for the in-game bottle. Makes it look more like the ones in the HUD:

I'm working on getting the proper file names for my bottles. When I do, I'll post it as a pack.

For some weird reason I can't see the rupee your posted, or the in-game bottle. All I see is the boomerang=[

Anyway, It's going to be tough to match the balance of the shield we have now. My shields overall texture is pretty good in the middle, but It's going to be hard to match that on the outside. Especially as this is basically my first real experience with photoshop, I don't know much about it=]

If anyone feels like doing something to it to make it better, than go ahead, if it looks good you will be credited for helping with the shield!

Here is the texture I'm using right now:

THELEGENDOFZELDA03F326D002_rgb-2.png

If your good with photoshop or paint.net, then if you feel like making the black fade in with the grey a lot better then that would be great!

Also, I'm not sure how I can make the rim more realistic. I was thinking some sort of blur or shading on the outside rim, but I still have little experience with it. So feel free to mess with it!

I'm going to go attack the red carpet at the temple of time!

@Lewa--you've really got some talent for this stuff! Can't wait to see some area textures! Oh, and I think you and Zeckron are right about the rupee--too WWish. Maybe make it shiny?

Thanks a lot for compliments. I'm slowly picking up more techniques. Not yet sure how I will make it look shinier. Does it need to look more opaque, like the original? I don't mind remaking it.

@Riddler119: Does the rim need to look better? Try making the inside more 3d-looking (match the lighting with the rim), and you might find that the rim is just fine.

Actually I like the transparency. I have something in mind, but I can't put it in words. Let me do a quick search and see if I can find an image that has what I'm talking about...

EDIT: Wow, it's tough to find an image of something when I don't know what to call it... anyway, this is sort of what I'm trying to talk about:

sechoc4.jpg

Basically, I'm thinking that on the front surface, you should add the reflection of a ray of light... to help imply that the surface is smooth, flat and shiny. I wish I could find a better example, but I hope you get the idea.

EDIT 2: This is a little closer to what I had in mind--the top of this laptop demonstrates the light effect I'm talking about:

Does anybody have raw textures for the evil gray sky? It's a real nasty surprise when you're enjoying the great graphics then a flood of gray pixels fly in and muck it all up.

Lol, I've been thinking the same thing--not sure why they never got done (especially since Mode7 spent so long working on skies toward the beginning of the project)... I'm sure I can get the raw textures--are you offering to create some hires gray sky textures?

I've only been interested in this for a short while but I think someone working on it would be better than no one working on it.

@Chieftan459: I know exactly what you are looking for. All that is is a white->transparent gradient. Make the shape using a selection, and fill it with this gradient: White to transparent.

Edit: Do you use Photoshop or Paint.net or what? I can send you can example file.
For now, though, I would select the area you want to "shine" and fill that with a gradient from the top of the selection to the bottom (draw the gradient on a new layer). Top color: white. Bottom color: transparent.
Then adjust the layer opacity till it looks right.

If you shoot it in a PSD format, that would be great. I'm a Photoshop guy. But yes, that's how I would approach it--with a white-trans gradient on a layer at probably 50% opacity and maybe set the blending mode to screen.

Shut up and get off your fricking high horse. I'll state fact wherever i bloody want, and fact remains that Rice video is the poorer of the 2 when it comes to GFX emulation.

I'm with death--droid here (and even if I wasn't, it's his thread, so he can be on his high horse whenever he wants). This is not the place. State that fact somewhere else. It's not welcome here.
