What's new
  • Most issues reported these days stem from users not enabling their emulators to use the required amount of RAM.
We also tend not to use the search feature but post our issues within the texture pack release page.
Failure to load a texture pack should not be posted in the release thread unless you have already patched the emulator.

If you don't have the resources to use Large/HD texture packs please do not attempt to do so.
Users should have a minimum amount of System RAM not less then 4GB's.
If you have less then 4GB's of RAM do not post about how your emulator crashes,
RAM is dirt cheap so invest some money into your PC.

I would like to say thanks to squall_leonhart
    for posting this Solution.

I thought I did that already, but I'll check again. Either way, it doesn't matter. r67 of the plugin doesn't work even without loading hi-res textures.

OK, I should have looked at the "duplicate textures" thing on the first post before telling y'all to reference it. It's actually missing a couple of the duplicate texture filenames--the list should be as follows:

THE LEGEND OF ZELDA#DB033A18#4#0_all.png
THE LEGEND OF ZELDA#0C2E0585#0#2_all.png
THE LEGEND OF ZELDA#3FB7A218#0#2_all.png <--this one is in there 4 times--twice as the original texture.

The first two are missing from that part in the first post. D-D, you think you could fix that, please?

Heh, I get g_pRender NULL without loading high textures with r67, as well

Anyway, I moved my r67 issues to the plugin thread. I'm able to use texture caching with r35 with zero problems now, after applying the little patch in my earlier post. Makes everything run super smooth!

@Chieftain459 I've just fixed that up :p
@Microdev glad to see you are still around, wish you could come and help out with the programming of the plugin because I'm terrible at it.

Hey! I'm new here, and I would like to offer my help on this project. I downloaded the pack and have been playing Zelda with it for the past few days and I'm very impressed! I'd like to be a part of this.

I have read the tutorials already, but I'm not sure where to start because I don't know what has been done and what hasn't. Let me know how I can get started and what I can begin working on.

Welcome Shakari!
Check out the first page. There's a list!
Although it's not up to date anymore

Water and Fire temples are already worked on currently

Thanks for the welcome! Yeah...I saw the list and after reading through several dozen of the old posts, I knew it was outdated. I did, however, notice that the Ice Cavern has not been worked on. (Correct me if I'm wrong) Maybe I'll try doing some of the textures in there.

I'm also really interested in re-texturing bosses...but I'm not sure how to get those to dump, and I'm sure they're more difficult to do than environmental textures. I have another pack that I was playing with, and when I fought Volvagia, I noticed it was re-textured. It was AWESOME. My jaw literally dropped. xD Made me wanna give it a try.

I think the ice cavern is already done, but make sure death--droid confirms that.

as for the bosses: The only way to dump them is to play through the whole dungeon until you fight the boss. Maybe peaople here can help you with save states?!

Theres is also the code to hold L to fly, this can allow you to clip above doors if used correctly due to the act that you move foreward a bit. Do a jump attack, and in midair hold L. If you cant get it, i can try tomorrow.

So it looks like Nintendo is remaking OoT for the 3ds:
http://ds.ign.com/articles/109/1098192p1.html

Very interesting, when I first read it, I thought: Shit we put all this work in here and now someone is doing a much better job.

But from this early screens it looks like our version looks a lot better.
Of course there is better lighting and a few more polygons.

But the textures seem pretty uninspired IMO. Just look at the skies

But: I think I'll try to redo the trees

PS: What is 3Ds anyway?

Zelda Hi-Res Texturer
I seem to be the only one here who loves the fact an official Ocarina of Time remake is coming. Has no-one considered the possibility of moving re-texturing over to the new game, or transplanting the new models and areas to the N64 game?

One thing that grabbed me, is looking at this image
oot3ds-1.png

Death Mountain is now fully 3D, and the entrance to the Market over the drawbridge is too.

Work needs to start on DS (and presumably similar 3DS) emulation and retexturing...

I don't think thats possible, yet is it? I've thought about the replacing models thing before. I even think that might be possible with the utillity of time. But if the polygon count is too high the game won't run smooth anymore, after all we're emulating an n64 here.

But don't get me wrong. I'd definitely buy this one if I'd one a 3Ds. I own OoT on N64 and Gamecube. Having a portable Version seems cool.
