What's new
  • Most issues reported these days stem from users not enabling their emulators to use the required amount of RAM.
We also tend not to use the search feature but post our issues within the texture pack release page.
Failure to load a texture pack should not be posted in the release thread unless you have already patched the emulator.

If you don't have the resources to use Large/HD texture packs please do not attempt to do so.
Users should have a minimum amount of System RAM not less then 4GB's.
If you have less then 4GB's of RAM do not post about how your emulator crashes,
RAM is dirt cheap so invest some money into your PC.

I would like to say thanks to squall_leonhart
    for posting this Solution.

Reason is the texture caching. By default, windows restricts the memory that can be occupied by one process to 1GB. As the decompressed textures in memory will need more than that, the plugin crashes.
2GB's to kernel, and 2GB's to User address space.

User address space is EVERYTHING running, not just isolating to a single app. which is why large address aware is important with games on new os's that run alot of stuff at the same time.

Windows Server 2003 includes support for a startup switch that lets you tune the allocation of use of memory and memory address space. Regardless of the amount of physical memory in your system, Windows uses a virtual address space of 4 GB, with 2 GB allocated to user-mode processes (for example, applications) and 2 GB allocated to kernel-mode processes (for example, the operating system and kernel-mode drivers). On systems that have 1 GB or more of physical memory, these two startup switches can be used to allocate more memory to applications (3 GB) and less memory to the operating system (1 GB). This additional virtual address space helps reduce the amount of memory fragmentation in the virtual address space of the Exchange information store process.
Things change more if the app and plugins are compiled to be Large Address Aware

Patch Project64 with this
http://forums.techpowerup.com/showthread.php?t=112556

it fixes both 1.6 and 1.7

just enable the texture pack after starting the game, having it enabled at start will crash.

Ohey, another congrats to everyone working on this. :3

Amazing upload D-D. Thanks so much, and thanks for everyone who put their best effort into this pack.

BTW: Is there a way to cut down some terrible loading times? Some parts take quite some time to load, and I was wondering if this is common. I'm using Mudlord's Rice Video Plugin Build 6.1.4, I would try 1964 Community Plugin, but it doesn't seem to work.

EDIT: Ok Glide64 works great.

Hey! Listen!, if your not going to help out then you don't need to be here, simple as that. Anyway If I fail to handle V6 properly I will be looking to hand it onto someone else, who I trust will keep loyal to the project and not just add absolutely anything to the pack and is active enough to keep up to date with everything.

@MasterGunz2345, I shouldn't be thanked at all, I didn't upload it when I said I was going to and screwed up the initial release way to much :( All thanks go to the people that put their best effort into this pack!!!! And yeah the is common at the moment, texture caching in 1964 Community Plugin does need some more work, my programming skills aren't at that sort of level to do much tho :(.

EDIT: Now to get back onto texturing again, I'm redoing some of my older work I did first as it kind of looked really bad xD
EDIT2: For all of the people having problems with R73, here is R72, R72 is the same as R73 its just missing the animated textures patch. Hopefully someone who can actually program finds out how to fix up the problem with R73.

Now that v5 is out you guys should just drop droid and go with someone who's actually competent.

*drops Droid*

*goes with Droid*

Well that was pointless... he was already competent.

Anyway, if I can voice my opinion on something, it's the occasional Wind Waker text (for example, the Navi c-button text). I don't think it fits with the intention of the pack. It's a very different font than the original.

@Donbero, thank you :). And if I remember right Emarian was going to redo all the text, but he has being quite busy lately. I'm sure he won't mind if someone else takes up the job.

Any reason why this pack wasn't optimised?

Weird, I actually had already cleaned up all that stuff before the first release of this pack. None of those duplicates should be there at all.....
I'm really starting to hate this computer.

Thats weird as well, finding these duplicates. Since they're duplicates, which will the emulator read? Or, since theres duplicates, will it even read any of them?

V5 crashes on the start screen for me. Any Idea why? Ive been playing V4 perfectly and i just beat the Shadow Temple so its something specific to V5.

Any ideas?

What plugin are you using? If your using 1964 plugin, they just addressed it a few pages back.

Aristotle's Mudlord & Rice

Thats strange, especially on Rice. V5 worked fine for me. I use Project 64, and Glide 64 Napalm Public Release 1.22. If your using 1964 emulator, I'm not sure how I can help you, since Project64 to me was always better.

Anybody mind uploading V5 to a faster download site like mediafire or megaupload?

Its just that im getting 12kbps on that link as opposed to my usual 1.2mbps
its gonna take like 2 days at this rate :/
