Ever crack open a gamecube case? (well, not to reccomend for you to if you havn't), but nintendo has an incredible talent in fitting big things in little spaces. That thing is engineered to be as compact as possible, not an inch of space is wasted. Now look in your standard PC (and believe me, mine is pretty powerful) It's about the size of your medium gaming case (so a good chunk bigger than the average consumer machine), but about 80% of it is air. Same goes for the xbox (havn't tried to take apart my ps2 yet, only have 1 of themTrotterwatch said:We'll agree to differ on that one. I feel that a small factor case leaves little room for large bulking graphics chips or fancy heat dispersal methods.

what are the sizes of the Revolution again?.. i'm sure they are smaller.. but it's fun to see what can be donne with standard PC parts.. then you know you could make it much smaller if it was specialiced parts..
i could make a pc with:
slot in dvd-burner
1GB mem
P4 passivly cooled (not sure wich one would have to test it but possibly underclocked)
4xUSB2
Video: hmm... Passive cooled Radeon x700-850 of some sort.. such as a Gigabyte or Powercolor one of the brands that still do passive cooling.. would have to be AGP thou..
of course just like the GC and Revolution it would rely on an external PSU.. there are several for PC use.. not sure thou about the power.. would have to be pretty powerfull for that video card and a P4..
either way.. we're talking reaaaally expensive.. wich the Revolution will not be.. cool huh?..![]()

There was this notable quote on the gamefaqs board on the weaponry of the various factions in the next-gen console wars. Nintendo used nunchakus, PS3 used boomerangs, and XBox360 threw rocks.
We don't know what kind of agreements were made way back then when Nintendo gave rights to rare to make Donkey Kong games..Hexidecimal said:You're all missing something here, Iawata said 20 years of NINTENDO'S games, a lot of those classics, were made by thrid parties, and we all know how hard it is to get 3rd partys to sign off on old games, (which is why theres never been a port of CT, when its one of the most beloved SNES games of all time) It's also why in the conference they only show Nintendo made cases flying into the revolution. So I wouldn't hold your breath on games like Goldeneye or CT coming to the Revoultion right off the bat, because RARE is a MS owned product now, and good luck getting them to play nice with Ninty again.
