I'll be a critic now, and tell you what's wrong with your textures. Take it just as advice.
They are flat, and it's pretty easy to tell that the texture is being repeated constantly. You should try to make it so that you can't tell that the same texture is being repeated all the time.
They also like continuity. It seems like you used photosourced textures in your work. Don't, since realism is not the way to go with things that are seen all the time, specialy with rock walls.
If you'd like to make every single item, i'll be glad to include it in my pack (gray versions as well). Just make sure to make the drop shadow exactly the same for very item. Check my Ocarina to get it as equal as possible
Alas, it is true. I can tell as well that they are being repeated constantly, but I think I have recently found something to fix that.
I recently got in touch with the man who taught me how to use photoshop, and he took a look at this thread to see my work. He told me almost exactly what you said (only pointed out a few other things I need to improve on). He hooked me up with several plugins (one by the name of "seamless tiles") and told me a few techniques. Because of these, I am going back to the front of ganons castle and redoing the repetative tiles, mainly. When I post progress again, expect it to look seamless and a little more 3d looking.
As for the door, expect it to look really kicka$$ by the time I'm done as well. As for the items, no thanks, I'm not that good at those, plus I enjoy making world textures too much.
BTW, Fed, thank you for your critique, strange as it may sound, I like to know if people have ideas on how to improve anything I do.
