What's new
  • Most issues reported these days stem from users not enabling their emulators to use the required amount of RAM.
We also tend not to use the search feature but post our issues within the texture pack release page.
Failure to load a texture pack should not be posted in the release thread unless you have already patched the emulator.

If you don't have the resources to use Large/HD texture packs please do not attempt to do so.
Users should have a minimum amount of System RAM not less then 4GB's.
If you have less then 4GB's of RAM do not post about how your emulator crashes,
RAM is dirt cheap so invest some money into your PC.

I would like to say thanks to squall_leonhart
    for posting this Solution.

Hmmm. To me those ice cave shots just don't look Wind Waker-ish. Maybe it's just me, but they still seem a little too 'natural' looking. I try to picture WW's Link walking around in those shots and he just doesn't quite fit. Remember, on Wind Waker the ice was lightly colored without much difference in color all around (to me, it still looks a lot like OOT's more realistic ice). Anyway, wait to see what others have to say; maybe it's just that I'm tired. Great job on everything else so far though!

To achieve the Wind Waker`s atmosphere, you might want to try some plain coloured textures instead of detailed ones. I bet it would look alot like WW.

^^ No, it wouldn't. Wind Waker had quite a lot more than just single-colour textures - if we implemented nothing but plain textures in the game, it'd look weird, not like WW at all. You have to have the "graphic novel" sort of detail that WW has to capture the same atmosphere.
And, good job on the new WIP, Djipi, although I have to agree with Toasty. They just don't look WW-ish enough yet.

Cant believe I forgot that, once I know if it is ok and is tileable, and see it in use in the game, I will correct it...

Freaking Awesome work!

PS: Doesn't really matter that the carpet isn't in the very center of the room. In fact it looks better off center.

can you send me your ice texture please?

I havnt got a way to extract the textures from the model viewer yet, the author of the program is working on it. So All I can do is take screenshots, and try make them tileable and adjust colours etc.

mdtauk: This is not completely true, I wrote a program to extract textures from bmd files ages ago, it's linked in one of the first posts in the first half of the szs thread. You can find it at www.amnoid.de/gc/ (it's called bmdview, somewhat misnamed). It extracts the textures as dds files (because these files can store alpha channels and mipmaps).

Keep in mind that you violate Nintendo's copyright if you distribute this textures, though.

oh i am so sorry, I thought it was an early version of the bmd viewer.

I have only been on these forums for a few weeks, so I am not hot on everything.

Again I'm sorry thakis

how do you do to make scene with Glwin? someone have a tutorial to create simply RARC or bti or gbdl files like you and extract texture?
I see Thakis thread but it's too complicate i don't understand all his said.

Please give me the way to make like you mdtauk and see scene of wind waker and extract texture.

No, I haven't been doing absolutely nothing for the past, what, two-three weeks. :p
None of them are perfect yet, and almost all of them do not have the clarity of my previous textures, but it's going OK. I have a lot less work on my hands, which means that I do a lot less work on the project. That doesn't really make sense, since I should do more on the project, but that's how it seems to end up with me. :whistling
Anyway, here's some pictures. Yes, I know the symbol wall thing looks like it's tiled now, but I kind of like it that way. And yes, the floor is badly lined up, but that's hard to fix. And, yes, I did use some edited versions of Djipi's earlier textures, that's why some of the walls look a bit stretched (from resizing).
