  • Most issues reported these days stem from users not enabling their emulators to use the required amount of RAM.
    We also tend not to use the search feature but post our issues within the texture pack release page.
    Failure to load a texture pack should not be posted in the release thread unless you have already patched the emulator.

    If you don't have the resources to use Large/HD texture packs please do not attempt to do so.
    Users should have a minimum amount of System RAM not less then 4GB's.
    If you have less then 4GB's of RAM do not post about how your emulator crashes,
    RAM is dirt cheap so invest some money into your PC.

If the English pack is COMPLETE, as in ALL English textures before he releases it, then I will. However, if there are still one or two missing, I will keep my pack separate and simply repackage Djipi's pack after his release.

I am somewhat of a perfectionist and do not like the idea of people mixing up our packs. :bouncy: I mean no offense, I'm just saying that I'd like to keep it separate until it's perfect and ready for inclusion.

On a side note, I updated the Dungeon names so that all names have a 48 point size. Before, I had to set it to about 30 to keep all names the same size because "Inside Jabu-Jabu's Belly" was too long to fit on the canvas with a 48 point. However, I decided to work around this by setting as many names as would fit to 48 point size normally and saving those, and then all names that wouldn't fit as 48, such as "Inside the Deku Tree," I set those to the highest point possible (without breaking line) at 8x size rather than 4x (the size of all of my other textures), and then stretched them to match the height of the 48 point textures. This caused slight pixelation, so I halved the size of the texture to perfect it again (hence why I started off with 8x - halving 8x makes 4x, so it would match my other textures as 4x). This caused perfect textures that looked just like 48 point, but fit on the canvas.

Here is an example of one of the stretched textures:

Let me know your thoughts, because I kept both versions and I can easily change back to the old versions if you do not like the new ones.

I personally don,t like the stretched names, makes the letters taller and thinner...

@Djipi:
I always found Kokiri forest's grass a bit bland and its trails too wide for a solid color. It ends up making the whole place look artificial... Is it something being reworked?

I agree with Alakazoo in both aspects. The grass in Kokiri forest just doesn't do justice to the work he has done for the other sections of the game. And the fact that many demos and screenshots are Kokiri forest-centric because people are too lazy to beat the game for a few screens makes it a bit of a downer.

Anyways back to the English graphics, I got past where I was stuck, and got you two new graphics. One is a new bullet bag size, and the other is "Piece of Heart", not sure why that isn't appearing on my rom, assuming you have already done it.

I didn't know that there was a name for "Piece of Heart." I had all pieces on my save when I went through and dumped, and as such, my heart container was empty.

I agree on the Kokiri Forest.

I'm also uploading the latest version of the pack (forgot to do so last night).

Will have it up in about 40 minutes.

I have a graphical failure with the plugin glide64 Napalm PR 1.22 in the forest kokiri The map does not show itself me well... With the version 1.00 of de glide64 plugin and the rice video plugin, don´t have this error.


Anyone can help me?

Disable any cheats if you have them on? I haven't been able to reproduce the issue using Project 64 and Napalm 1.22. Alternatively, you can always use Rice 6.1.8 as your video plugin.

Hey Emarian, just wondering, assuming that the French pack that Djipi has out is complete with all the names, wouldn't it be faster to search up the names and translate instead of finding the individual textures?

As in the correct English name? Or as in the file name?

In terms of English, there are most likely a few odd ones, but the two reasons that I think it would work is:
1. For things such as Quiver (Holds 20), we already know exactly what the other ones say, we just don't know what the file is? Am I correct?
2. Even if it doesn't work, if we can isolate a list of the French textures that we do need, I can be more specific in hunting them down, instead of blindly going at the game looking at items I find. Quite honestly things like Piece of Heart and Sold Out were complete surprises for me.

What version of the rom are you using?
I´m using the [!] (U) (v1.0)

the cheats are Deactivated

the problem is that the name isn't a name... it's a code. so names are way too confusing to search through and identify...

I am french so I could at least tell you what those images are assossiated with but that's not much thew issue here.

Errrr I can't think of very many things left to add, working my way through the game still, I'm thinking the receipt for the Big Goron Sword, and the stuff from early game. If no one is willing to play through the start of the game to get those textures, I suppose I can do it after I go through the game for the first time.

Yes, it´s normal. The plugin can´t emulate the image buffer correctly. With the rice plugin use this configuration:

Because of it, I use the napalm 1.22, believe that it is the plugin that Emarian uses, but I have some problems with some images, as which post previously...

Now, my problem with kokiri forest map is that the rice video use the images finished in _rgb and _a
but napalm 1.22 use the image that finished in _all
this image are loaded but the background of the png image is not trasparent... is a white rectangle, then the plugin interprete this how a map part, and paint it green...

Alright, I just looked into it and it seems that for some reason that map is not a transparent PNG and instead has a solid white background. I fixed it so it works with Napalm:

To apply the fix:

- Download this image:
ootmap.png

- Rename it to THE LEGEND OF ZELDA#EE679A9B#3#0_all.png
- Place it in the Cartes folder of the texture pack, overwriting the original file.

The texture pack should be updated with this. If you come across anything else with transparency issues, let me know and I'll fix them.

never had this problem, but when I used rice plugin I had the same player image issue, now that I use glide I don't.

Yes, I use Napalm 1.22, but I've never had that issue myself.

As for everyone complaining about textures not showing properly in the Equipment menu, use Glide64. Now that it supports texture dumping and hi-res texturing, it's better than Rice Video ever was.

I've never had this issue with Glide64, but it happened to me for Rice. Also, the issue with the box that contains the name in the Menu overlapping was also fixed by switching to Glide64.

It's a better plugin. GET IT.

The GlideHQ Hires Texture Checker should help. It checks the integrity of texture packs so you will know which textures are problematic right away.
