What's new
  • Most issues reported these days stem from users not enabling their emulators to use the required amount of RAM.
We also tend not to use the search feature but post our issues within the texture pack release page.
Failure to load a texture pack should not be posted in the release thread unless you have already patched the emulator.

If you don't have the resources to use Large/HD texture packs please do not attempt to do so.
Users should have a minimum amount of System RAM not less then 4GB's.
If you have less then 4GB's of RAM do not post about how your emulator crashes,
RAM is dirt cheap so invest some money into your PC.

I would like to say thanks to squall_leonhart
    for posting this Solution.

I really like it, like virtually all the work that is done in this thread. I'm over and over amazed how much dedication and patience you all bring in to retexture a whole game.

The only thing I can contribute is the release of 1964Video 6.3.0. Please find further details and the link for downloading it here

microdev

Thanks so much for the link!! I upgraded from Mudlord's latest Rice Video plugin, and I must say, this latest version is absolutely amazing. It actually works for me (unlike the Aristotle versions), and it loaded some new textures that would never show up! =D

Thanks again!!!!

Unfortunately it doesn't work for me; crashes out everytime i try to load a save sate, but hey i'm sure it's great for other folks.

Strange. Could you maybe provide some details & also the save-state in the release thread? (I don't want to hijack this one)

@Zeckron much better, I love it.
@Microdev brilliant work on the plugin.
@Lewa the style of the original textures(The dumped ones) is the best, if you could replicate that, then that would be awesome.
@Chieftain459 nice textures, but i personally think the need more detail in them since they seem to be lacking in some sort of detail in some areas.

Hmm..

@mode7 glad to see you here again :)
@steftheserb go ahead and use the textures if dcs78 gets unhappy I'll handle him but i doubt I'll need to.

@Death--Droid Not sure how I should take that. I am not trying to insist that my textures are used but to simply make sure that it is made available as an option. When I first sumbitted them you said they would be added to the pack and when I did not see them included I thought they were overlooked or that I was supposed to re-submit. It makes sense to go with a set that match other textures in the game rather than mine which were made as a standalone. Appologies if I came across as pushy. Generally when I come to the forums I scan the new posts for my name and any new links/pics so I feel I missed something to warrant a comment about a possible need to be handled. Oh, well. No need, as you suspected. I'm just a fan who wants to contribute rather than simply take from the community.

@steftheserb I like your Spirit Stones so don't think I'm trying to push mine on you. I was just trying to say that I've done them if you want to run with that or make your own. Sorry if I seemed otherwise. I explained more above.

@Zeckron I agree that a rough look is appropriate. As if things were carved and chistled and not polished. The Fire Temple is a Volcano and might even have a sense of scorched earth. But then again I don't know how that would playout ingame.

@Chieftain459 Good direction but I too believe more detail can be added. My mind says that stone weathered by water would be uneven (pits and holes) and/or as it has been submerged for so long that there would be plantlife (algae or shells) like a reef.

@dcs78 the textures are good but if someone thinks they can redo them well then I let them.
Also i have a huge habit of forgetting about stuff.

@dcs78--my only problem with what you're saying is the fact that part of the temple is never in water, yet it uses the same textures as the stuff that is in water. Therefore, there would be algae or whatever growing where it never would in real life... besides, there is no evidence of that in the original textures.

@death--droid--as far as "more detail," I'm not sure what other detail I can add. If you can be more specific, that would be nice.

Kneel Down Before The Freaky Stone Faces

Screenie:

Holy crap, these faces were so much fun! They wouldn't have been possible for me without Chieftain tipping me off to the Pen Tool. An hour worth of video tutorials later - and viola!

Screenie:
http://i977.photobucket.com/albums/ae258/zeckron00001/FireTemple10.jpg

The wife made me refrain from busting them up a little and adding cracks and details and stuff. Now that I'm seeing them in-game, I think she's totally right.

Original: http://i977.photobucket.com/albums/ae258/zeckron00001/FireTemple11.jpg

Redux: http://i977.photobucket.com/albums/ae258/zeckron00001/FireTemple12.jpg

32X original size. My PC was begging for mercy.

Sidenote: the stone inside the mouths - it's a tiled and stretched version of the floor tile (that's done in-game, I can't rearrange it); but it really doesn't look that bad.

Nice work! Only suggestion if a little less on the white highlights, otherwise perfect! Also I don't like the design textures vertically on the stairs. Try making it simpler, and smaller and see if that works

EDIT: I've remade the chain that is used on the longshot, highly possible it's also used on the regular hookshot.
Original and version 1.

v1-22.png

WARNING Twilight Princess SPOILER BELOW (highlight to view)
This reminds me of the double hookshots in TP. I they were awesome! ^_^

EDIT: I've made screenshots. The only differences between these are the highlights. They all use v1 above in the same resolution as above

Original texture (no redux)

Same as version 1 above
http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff70/num1narutofan/v1-23.jpg

More highlights than version 1
http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff70/num1narutofan/more.jpg

Less highlights than version 1
http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff70/num1narutofan/less.jpg

Personally I prefer the one with less highlights, even though the original had a lot of highlights

P.S. it might look smoother (less aliasing) if I make a lower res, but I'd like an opinion on the highlights first if possible

@Zeckron--loving the heads! Is that a new fire texture inside? Or did that end up in a pack that I haven't installed yet? Or am I just crazy?

The lava may be just a lllliiiiiittttttttllleee too bright. Or, at least, a little too orange. Also, there was a point where I used this texture for some lava (ended up in Dodongo's Cavern boss room. Maybe give it a shot?

OMG Chieftain! You're the man! Thanks for that link to the lava tutorial! When I came to the lava room, I was really kicking myself for not having bought Filter Forge. If you've never seen Filter Forge before, well, it seems freaking sweet... But that tut you sent seems perfect! Now I can do the lava at 32X or higher instead of just 16X (my base pic that I tweaked). Thanks a bunch!

About the fire, yes it's new. Was in the latest pack. It's actually one of Fiderelli (sp?) textures he did. It's much better than the original stock texture, but honestly, it still seems a little dull and pixelated. I was hoping someone would tackle the fire at 32X or 64X one of these days.... Possibly a future project, but for now I don't have time.

I'm working on the next room now, but will fully digest that tutorial in a bit. Thanks again sir!

@Chieftain459 I hadn't concidered that factor in this case. Shared textures really make it rough.

@steftheserb Ahh... it was about my Lon Lon stuff. Have at it I don't care what of mine gets used and what doesn't. Also, my textures are only 4x.

@Zeckron I can't wait to play your Fire Temple!!!

@Zeckron the stone face texture is very nice, but there is one thing that needs adding, you see how the original texture seems to have stress marks(The darker lines) in the texture, try that out and see how it looks.

I also made a base texture pack for any lava elements anyone needs to re-texture. Might not have done it if I saw the nice tutorial, but oh well here it is...
~15 MB

my textures are only 4x.
Sorry if it's already been said, but all your future work should be much bigger, preferably 32 or 16

@death--droid--please see my post on the previous page, I would kinda like an answer before I go any further... so I know what sort of detail you're looking for in these (and future) textures.

I've done a VERY close to complete dump of shadow temple. I actually HATED Shadow Temple when I had to play it D:, but since I've forgiven it. I'm going to start to do work on this dungeon as well as my work on Spirit Temple. I've also uploaded my Spirit temple dump.

Shadow Temple dump - 0.8
http://www.mediafire.com/?ywggemyz4wd

Spirit Temple dump - 0.6
http://www.mediafire.com/?m3d2j5mhom0

Note on my Shadow Temple dump.
The chain texture that is in it is NOT under the marked textures folder. I saw this unmarked and found out it's just a de-saturated version of the chain texture used in the longshot/hookshot.
It simply is saturated in-game to make it kind of rusty looking. Still, I think this new one might use a different picture, using a rusty chain's base picture, still thinking about it.
Anyway this rusty chain is found hanging from the ceiling in spots in one of the rooms with wide-area spinning blades.
Here's a screenshot of it:
http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff70/num1narutofan/chain.jpg

P.S. Once I finish making my oldest textures better, and all the textures that use the moon crescent icon I'll be approching an alpha or beta release of Spirit Temple.

I got the font done... download here:
http://www.mediafire.com/file/y1wfm0iofwz/SpiritSymbols.ttf

Here's how it works:
For the text in that big block, type the following:
QWERTYU
ASDFGHJK
ZXCVBNM,. (the last bit is comma, period)

For the jewelry items, the single letter is 6.
The texture with five letters is 12345. Note that the letters are already angled the way they were in the original texture (no rotation necessary).

Let me know if something doesn't work out.
I'm having a lot of trouble making it look carved =/
This is my awful current progress
