What's new
  • Most issues reported these days stem from users not enabling their emulators to use the required amount of RAM.
We also tend not to use the search feature but post our issues within the texture pack release page.
Failure to load a texture pack should not be posted in the release thread unless you have already patched the emulator.

If you don't have the resources to use Large/HD texture packs please do not attempt to do so.
Users should have a minimum amount of System RAM not less then 4GB's.
If you have less then 4GB's of RAM do not post about how your emulator crashes,
RAM is dirt cheap so invest some money into your PC.

I would like to say thanks to squall_leonhart
    for posting this Solution.

Zelda Ocarina of time Community Retexture Project

turpinator

Piledriver Program Advance!
It's not so noticeable from a distance, and the angle is only because of the shield's angle, not because of the shape. If you saw it straight on, it would not look like that.

EDIT: BTW, I was looking around and I was wondering if somebody had a spare zip with all the original textures on it. Don't worry about the size, I have crazy-good computer and internet, it should be fine. I like to use the originals as an example for my lines/work when I do things.

@Datadayne excellent work, glad to see you've returned :bouncy: we need more dynamite people like you :D
I see you use PS CS5 like me :p
for a good emu look at my sig
also next time you post a PSD can you compress it with 7 zip? It'd save a lot of bandwidth as PSDs can easily be compressed to about half the original size or less very often

Didnt know psd's can be compressed so much, definitely gonna compress them next time. And thanks for the emu package, saved me plenty of time.

Thanks lewa.
@squall,
I used the pen tool to go over turpinators lines. I dont think I can make those lines cleaner than they are,, maybe increase the antialiasing in the emu itself, if it isnt already at it highest.

The Great Gunblade Wielder
antialiasing won't effect the area's inside a texture, samples are only taken from the edges.

if anything this is a scaling issue in the plugin. it looks like its doing bicubic or less downsampling (bad).

Aye, i just verified the issue by resizing the texture elsewhere. anything less then supersampling (this includes bicubic) will introduce aliasing when downsampling textures.

This can be worked around by reducing the image size in the pack itself., it doesn't help the original already has aliasing in the first place.

What resolution did you use to fix the problem?

Im currently having a hard time setting up the pack. V4 loads fine, but I cant replace the current shield. Plus the shield texture turpinator uploaded has a different name than the rest of the textures in the pack. So what resolution do you guys go by?

EDIT**
Well for some reason the community plugin isnt loading textures more than 4x the resolution. What plugin are you guys using, or do I need to adjust the settings of the plugin.

With the latest build, you have to make a folder named WIP in the hires folder, and put any textures you're working on in it. When reloading, the plugin only looks at that folder, so it doesn't have to reload the whole pack every time you reset to check on your work. Neat huh?

Yes, that's really neat! Where do I get it?

Still not working for me, anything I try above 4x (I tried 8x, 16x and 32x) will not show up. I even tried aristotles plugin... same with pj64.

I apologize ahead of time if this sounds extremely n00bish, but this is the first time I've messed with textures and I'm having a little trouble installing v4 of this pack. I'm running pj64 1.6 with glide64. It starts to load the textures then pj64 crashes. Could someone push me in the right direction?
