  • Most issues reported these days stem from users not enabling their emulators to use the required amount of RAM.
We also tend not to use the search feature but post our issues within the texture pack release page.
Failure to load a texture pack should not be posted in the release thread unless you have already patched the emulator.

If you don't have the resources to use Large/HD texture packs please do not attempt to do so.
Users should have a minimum amount of System RAM not less then 4GB's.
If you have less then 4GB's of RAM do not post about how your emulator crashes,
RAM is dirt cheap so invest some money into your PC.

I kinda did... T.T

*Tentative*
- The rest of the status icons.

*Confirmed and doing*
- Hylian Shield

I realize already someone is doing the shield, but like I said to my friend, competition makes things better sometimes. ;P Who knows? I may just end up doing the lines, which would be helpful for the other person.
I was doing the shield :p but I kind of gave up, you can have what I started if you like, here is the PSD, do with it what you like.

EDIT:
@turpinator comparing it to the textures I posted about earlier(the ones that were made by Xenobond), my textures need a hell of a lot of work...It wasn't even a release, it was a WIP. I might continue it sometime...but I'd rather see your version first if you're going to give it a shot
PS the lines I can redo easy if I want to :p

But I really like your textures! Would you be able to do yours if you had the right lines for it?

EDIT: Alright then, a version of ours. (My friend is helping me with the colours and textures.) I'll show you guys once we're done the colours, but here are the lines with basic colours:

My only problem is, is there a way to make the picture bigger? Last time I did that I glitched the game into giving me 100 Skulltulla tokens. T.T

Alright, doing better:

Guess I should post the image itself now. It's still WIP, but I'm done for the night at least.

Looks very nice turpinator :) but that texture you posted, that's not the resolution you're working with is it? >.< I was hoping for something a lot bigger like mine
great work on the bird thing, that was my biggest fear, never got to trying to make it tho :p
I take it you're good with illustrator?
Also I can take nice hires screenshots (1600x1200) for you anytime you like :)

Ha, Illustrator. XD I use GIMP, it's just as useful. XP And I can make a more higher resolution texture, I just don't know how. :( Do I just replace it with something bigger? Last time I did that I messed up the game abit.

the texture resolution must go up in multiples of the original texture size.
Huh, so it's like retexturing PSO:BB...

'Aight, can-do! The lucky thing is, I shrunk down the shield to a smaller resolution for the details, so making another one somewhat bigger should take less time. I'm going out today, but I'll see if I can't get it done by tonight.

I gotta say, it's really pixelated. And cheaply shaded. I *hate* to be harsh, but I don't think it looks very good. I thought someone already made one that was really awesome...

You did the shapes really well though. That's something I have trouble with. Wanna put the shapes on separate layers and send me the .psd? (GIMP can save as .psd)
The bigger the better.

I really don't mean to be rude; I think it's best to combine our skills.

If you do send it to me, please: [email protected]

I told you I wasn't done, that was just the first step and layer for me. :\ I'm noticing a big lack of reading everything I say around here.

EDIT: FIRST STEP of the bigger res shield, this is slightly smaller than what I originally was working with to submit the first, I just couldn't implement the size until now:

I'll be working on the rest of the details tomorrow if I get the chance. By the by, should I get my own thread for this? That way I'm not cluttering this one up?

Hm some things you should consider.
The lines are not antialiased and the colors are very flat. the should have some kind of texture.
Maybe you are already working on this, I just wanted to point it out.

Also (sorry to say this) I think the version Xenobond did is pretty much perfect (If he let's us use it)
http://www.emutalk.net/showthread.php?t=45875&page=283
Problem is that is lower resolution than desired, has a lot of things that the original didn't, colors need work, and more...It's a good base, but Xenobond himself said he didn't have the original files anymore

Here is a wip of the shield I made. I used turpinators base,, adjusted a few of the shapes and sizes.

I couldnt check it ingame, but im sure there are still lots to be done,, especially tiling issues.
I'll upload the psd if anyone wants to finish it.

...

What? Not only did you all say you guys didn't like the shield, but one of you has the gall to actually use my lines after I had said: "I'm not done yet, let me finish."

The stupid thing is, I was just about to let you guys have free reign with the lines, since I tried and I didn't get what I desired. Take it, I'm pretty much done.

Sorry if this sounds harsh or what you'd call "emo" but you just went hypocrite and impatient on a guy that was honestly just trying to help.

Oh and Datadyne? You have the texture down near-perfect, but the shading needs work.

I'm sorry turpinator, I think things went a little wrong here.
Many people post work here which is done or nearly done. It's easy to loose track of if something really is a new addition or just something someone needs some suggestions for.

Actually this thread has too many topics discussed simultaneously sometimes.

Maybe datadyne could give us a little insight in how he did it.
In the end we could all learn something? What do you think?
Because I think it's pretty good work nonetheless.

I'm not miffed about it since it happens, and I do wish for this project to be completed, I just would like people to read my entire post so that things like this doesn't get repeated. TAT

Anyways, I'll start working on the status icons. I'm better with smaller stuff anyways.

A few adjustments:

@turpinator
Sorry,, didnt mean to cause any troubles. I really should have read your previous posts. I dissapeared from the retexturing scene for a while and came in to check how it was going , I looked through this thread and saw you guys were working on the shield,,. I saw your base texture and it looked pretty close to the original, so I decided to test out my retexturing skills and see how rusty I was. Again, sorry for the troubles.

@Mode7,
Well for that texture I used a lot of layer styles, especially for the metal. You can see in the psd that for the beveled metal, I used a bevel->contour->default texture set to a negative depth, a drop shadow, an inner shadow. I also use lots of textures of materials, for the frame of the shield I think I used 3 different base metal textures,,, but I duplicated them like 10 times and set the to different layer styles, moved them around, adjusted opacity. I hope im not getting too confusing,, im staring to confuse myself actually. You can learn more from my psd, but I warn you, its not very organized, lol,, im a pretty messy photoshopper!

@MasterGunz and DD
Thanks, glad you like it. The retexturing scene is indeed still alive.

EDIT**
Those screens look nice turpinator. I think it will still need a few adjustments from the one I just posted. The frame looks a little like concrete ingame. How about the bottom triangle (bottom of the shield). Is it supposed to be shaped like that?, should we edit the texture so that it is a perfect triangle ingame?
