A few adjustments:
@turpinator
Sorry,, didnt mean to cause any troubles. I really should have read your previous posts. I dissapeared from the retexturing scene for a while and came in to check how it was going , I looked through this thread and saw you guys were working on the shield,,. I saw your base texture and it looked pretty close to the original, so I decided to test out my retexturing skills and see how rusty I was. Again, sorry for the troubles.
@Mode7,
Well for that texture I used a lot of layer styles, especially for the metal. You can see in the psd that for the beveled metal, I used a bevel->contour->default texture set to a negative depth, a drop shadow, an inner shadow. I also use lots of textures of materials, for the frame of the shield I think I used 3 different base metal textures,,, but I duplicated them like 10 times and set the to different layer styles, moved them around, adjusted opacity. I hope im not getting too confusing,, im staring to confuse myself actually. You can learn more from my psd, but I warn you, its not very organized,lol,, im a pretty messy photoshopper!
@MasterGunz and DD
Thanks, glad you like it. The retexturing scene is indeed still alive.
EDIT**
Those screens look nice turpinator. I think it will still need a few adjustments from the one I just posted. The frame looks a little like concrete ingame. How about the bottom triangle (bottom of the shield). Is it supposed to be shaped like that?, should we edit the texture so that it is a perfect triangle ingame?
