  • Most issues reported these days stem from users not enabling their emulators to use the required amount of RAM.
    We also tend not to use the search feature but post our issues within the texture pack release page.
    Failure to load a texture pack should not be posted in the release thread unless you have already patched the emulator.

    If you don't have the resources to use Large/HD texture packs please do not attempt to do so.
    Users should have a minimum amount of System RAM not less then 4GB's.
    If you have less then 4GB's of RAM do not post about how your emulator crashes,
    RAM is dirt cheap so invest some money into your PC.

Right now I'm really bad at vector work, I don't really know what I'm doing that well...IDK what to do for the sun-like thing you see in the center of the original

That is looking good Chaoszerox, only problem is it seems the color of the carpet changed a little bit between the two textures but that might just be me, also maybe try and recreate the sun-like thing since it really is the centerpiece.

After a few Illustrator videos I felt much more confident in illustrator and this is my result. I'll try to deal with the tiling issue tomorrow, but I'm not sure what exactly I can do about it...

Looking good Chaoszerox, now you just need to make the yellow continue out more to the tips like the original one.

I haven't abandoned you guys

Just wanted to let you know that I haven't up and abandoned the re-texturing project. My workload for school has been murderous, but I will come back to this as soon as my time frees up a bit (this may not be until Summer vacation, unfortunately). At any rate, I haven't abandoned you guys; not by a long shot.

It's looking a lot better Chaoszerox, but still of course needs the other details added in.
Concerning the middle of the carpet looking at the original it goes red center the yellow that goes right out to the very tips then a very thin red outline. If you could provide a version that looks like that we could see wether your new style looks better. Of course its your choice.

From what I know of no one has made a game play video.
EDIT:
Woops forgot to release the pack.....
Might wait a bit longer since there really hasn't being much new textures.

I wouldn't mind creating a gameplay video using Fraps. im replaying Ocarina of time with this release V4. so wouldn't be a problem i think.

Edit: i would probably do one with Zoras Domain as so much work has gone into that place it looks absolutely stunning.


im not doing it unless i get permission from the team members its there work so yeah.

Btw i found that the best combination i can deliver is through the Directx 8 Rice plugin. i make a 720p video. but it will be in 4:3 Ratio i can't get the widescreen hack to work.

EDIT: I may try and starting working on some textures, really depends on how i feel.

The current font is almost exactly the same as the orignal font. As we stick to the original in other things, I honestly wouln't want to change it.

Watching the video I noticed that the water effect wasn't re-done in the v4 pack.
After I dumped the textures, I simply recorded a few simple actions (image size, guaaian blur, chrome filter, ect.) to each of the 7 textures that make up the water effect, and applied each one the same to each texture.
I made sure to expand the canvas and resize so the edges didn't look like this

It's not exactly a proper re-done texture, but it doesn't look pixelated like the originals, but at the same time it's almost exactly like the originals.

Also I made them lower resolution than my usual 32x because it lags at higher resolutions. They are at 8x
