What's new
  • Most issues reported these days stem from users not enabling their emulators to use the required amount of RAM.
We also tend not to use the search feature but post our issues within the texture pack release page.
Failure to load a texture pack should not be posted in the release thread unless you have already patched the emulator.

If you don't have the resources to use Large/HD texture packs please do not attempt to do so.
Users should have a minimum amount of System RAM not less then 4GB's.
If you have less then 4GB's of RAM do not post about how your emulator crashes,
RAM is dirt cheap so invest some money into your PC.

I would like to say thanks to squall_leonhart
    for posting this Solution.

Oh, sorry about the filename problems. I wasn't aware of that. With that, and the suggestion I saw on the last page, I will start releasing stuff in .zip files :)

From the sound of some of the comments I don't think anyone other than death--droid wants my help.

If you want my help though, I'll be more than happy to, just tell me what you need.

My expertise seems to be with the HUD more than anything else.

@Enterthehatrix, your work is truly good. Very good artistic style.

The background for the text boxes is very impressive. I love it!

The HUD arrangement, looks wonderful but I have to agree with others in the sense that it's just not OOT. The general consensus is to keep the original artist's concept in mind and stay as close to that as possible. In my opinion, it just doesn't make sense to have the HUD arranged as a GameCube controller for a game played with the N64 controller.

But again, don't get me wrong your style is very impressive and you've obviously got skill.

@Enterthehatrix--I wouldn't mind seeing the arrangement remain the same, but treated similar to what you have--while it doesn't make sense to rearrange it like a gamecube game, I certainly do think the Oot HUD layout is boring and plain.

Indeed :p i was just meaning the Gamecube layout doesn't suit it.

....anyway, cheats are kind of nuked with my version of pj64.... and zilmar's nowhere to be found...

Actually, it may not be a bad idea to have a couple of different arrangements (N64 style, Gamecube style, maybe even a generic one that fits most usb controllers) then let the players choose which one they want to have. I know one of my biggest pet peeves is using an XBOX controller and trying to remember which button does what...

Could that be done?

That's an even better idea considering the variety of game pads people use.

The Great Gunblade Wielder
it says Part 1 and 2.
one would assume that being part 1 and 2, that and the 001 and 002 file extensions would give away to the fact that they are 2 parts of the same file.

further still. 7zips documentation would have mentioned it...

Ah, haha. I've extracted stuff like that before...man, I fail. >.> I thought the extracted size was a little high already. =P

Thanks for that. I...really can be quite a noob at times. D:

The problem is that it very much depends on the layout of each persons controller. I wouldn't want to code up about 8 different layouts.

Not at all, but the code is there if anyone wants to use it in the gamecube configuration, its a bolt-on for the pack, it doesn't and probably won't need to be included, but its definitely worth giving those who want it the option of having it.

In terms of graphics and GUI, etc, I'm a lot better than I was back in the old community project, so if anyone wants my help and has a job that needs doing, just shout. I'm not going to start doing something that someone else has already started again.

Well, if you (or anyone) has photoshop, you'd be able to use this. I'd like to see the in-game menu backgrounds redone.
Even if you just stitch them together, I can redo them, and send to you to de-stitch. Whatever though.

I certainly wasn't suggesting 8 different layouts--just two (in addition to the original). Gamecube (which, it sounds like, is already done) and generic (I think most other controllers follow a fairly standard button arrangement similar to Xbox). And I think someone said they already had the arrangement set up for that, so it just needs to be tweaked and textured.

But if no one else think's it necessary, I'll shut up.

It's an interesting idea....perhaps i'm just thinking of myself, I wouldn't have a use for it. but someone else might.

Well, the problem I see is that not everyone will use the same controller configuration so it doesn't matter anyway. The Gamecube style layout was just because of the TP retexture project to make it more like the Gamecube version.
