What's new
  • Most issues reported these days stem from users not enabling their emulators to use the required amount of RAM.
We also tend not to use the search feature but post our issues within the texture pack release page.
Failure to load a texture pack should not be posted in the release thread unless you have already patched the emulator.

If you don't have the resources to use Large/HD texture packs please do not attempt to do so.
Users should have a minimum amount of System RAM not less then 4GB's.
If you have less then 4GB's of RAM do not post about how your emulator crashes,
RAM is dirt cheap so invest some money into your PC.

I would like to say thanks to squall_leonhart
    for posting this Solution.

Zelda Ocarina of time Community Retexture Project

My personal life has caught up with my short attempt to get into the project; however, I've still been reading the thread. I don't know if I can contribute my own work anymore, but if not, I'll provide the PSDs I used for my language contributions so that other languages can be produced along the same style. Nonetheless, I seriously doubt that it will come to this. I'll probably take two or three days off of work soon and finish up the remaining languages.

The reason I decided to make a post is that I'm willing to offer a folder on GameLair for hosting purposes.

I could provide a folder with unlimited space (how does www.gamelair.com/ootproject/ sound?) and bandwidth. death--droid, if you're interested, send me a PM and I can provide FTP details.

The only requirements that I have are listed:

1. You must keep the login details to yourself (d--d). The reason I have to set this limitation is because if I'm going to provide you with a folder that has unlimited space and bandwidth, I would not want you sharing the details with someone else who could do something stupid like uploading empty 500mb files to the server or attempting to spread malware. I know that you wouldn't do something like this intentionally, but I wouldn't want to risk any accidents or compromise GL.

2. You would have to include the site's URL in the credits file. Nothing elaborate, just something basic like "Package hosted by www.gamelair.com". The only reason that I would even ask for this is because GL does not restrict direct linking.

I think that's fairly reasonable. However, if you're not fine with those two requirements, then I can understand.

EDIT:
I see that file size is a worry for some of you guys concerning the upload. I have several 1-3GB files on the server that I've shared with no problem...so that would also be avoided. You could upload a single archive containing the entire pack and be done with it.

EDIT2:
Emarian could just give you access to her FTP so you could upload it there directly. She offered to mirror the pack anywayz.

I'm a proud male. :)

Thanks a lot Emarion.
I'll begin uploading soon, just need to recompress it into one file instead of split ones,

Hey, Do you want textures to be redone if they are already compleated, (have the Y in the cart) but have somthing needed to be fixed?

for example
Dungeon Dodongo's Cavern Y -- (fix lava)

and if I do only a few, do you want them? I mean, every little bit counts. but I dont want to do a whole lot. I may end up doing a lot.

Forest temple is in the pack, a lot more other things are also completed even tho the list says they aren't :p

@Swimy you'll have to ask Chieftain459 about that but as far as I'm concerned if it has (Fix lava) then you are able to try and fix/improve the lava texture. :p

Logged in to say congrats on releasing v4! =D I have been keeping an eye on this project, and I can't wait to get a full, first-person perspective on how it's come along. Keep up the great work, everyone, and thanks for making this a reality. I'd have never thought I'd see Ocarina of Time look so amazing.

Emarion, thanks a lot for giving FTP access to death-droid! I'm currently downloading the file (and quite quickly, may I add =P), and this wouldn't have been a possibility this early on without ya.

Once again, thanks for the work, all! You've made OoT even more enjoyable!!

I got less lazy and did up the eyes for link. So there they are for the pack if you guys want to use them. I made it a little larger then the original a slight, I could adjust it back if theres a problem though... Imo it looks better. =x

I also have 512 res ones still instead of 256, and detail eyebrows more. looks plain in game.

Also I was working on the hair, but I cant find the back part... Anyone can upload it? Anyone can upload links clothes or tell me how I could dump it possibly too, I havent had any luck and I wanna try out editing the clothes...

Heres pics of the hair. It's mapped so damn weird, took a long time kind of... lol =p

I'm trying to do the Magic bar but I am having troubles finding the textures for it. Is there any easier way than looking through all of your dump files?

Oh no!! It seems I've developed a social life and ditched this project. How much could I have missed? Help? Haha

Actually it's really because I pretty have to work every day to the point where when I'm not working, I have to finish my school work. As for the little amount of time left after that, (usually one free day a week, including weekends) I think that I have the right to give that to my girlfriend.

EDIT:
Also, I recently abandoned Windows entirely (using only a single GNU/Linux distribution), so I'm still getting used to GIMP. That's also part of the problem.

Emarion, thanks a lot for giving FTP access to death-droid! I'm currently downloading the file (and quite quickly, may I add =P), and this wouldn't have been a possibility this early on without ya.

Hopefully your connection was maxed during the download? Actually, if anyone could report their experience (in terms of speed) within the first 12 hours of the upload, then that would be great (I'm wondering how the server fared).

EDIT:
Also, if you give me a rough average of your speed, it would also be great if you could provide your maximum (for example, your download could be ~700 kB/s and your maximum be ~750 kB/s).

To anyone who said thank you, you're welcome. :)

EDIT:
I'm not complaining, but d--d, you forgot to remove the thumbs files from the folder before you archived it. Just a little thing to maybe fix next time. Other than that, great pack. I don't have the time to try it right now or look through the folders though, will post more later.

@whoever asked about the "fix lava" thing, its been fixed as of V4... that was the file I asked d--d to add at the last minute. The lava had been done, but omitted from several previous versions (thus, FIX lava, not DO lava)...

Haven't had a chance to get the new pack... but I will do it soon.

Yeah, my connection speed was maxed! =D I'm on a 5 Mbps line (but I get 30 Mbps for the first few seconds of a download; it evens out at ~6 Mbps. Yes, my ISP gives me more than we pay for =P) and got the full speed the entire time.

So yeah, thanks again for the hosting. :] It's a bummer it's not working for me, but eh...I'm sure something will turn up and fix the issue. I think it's Windows 7 itself, as I never had such errors in Vista. I think I'll try reinstalling Visual C++.

@AaronLite those are amazing eyes you made, they look absolutely brilliant. The hair looks very nice as well.
@Emarian I'll try to remember to remove them next time.
@Kodiack I'm not sure why the problem happens.... I haven't actually tried out the pack since i switched to windows 7.
Oh yeah what Video plugin are you using and what version.

I didn't mean any offense by it...looking back, it sounded kind of assy. The only reason I even bothered to mention it is because I'm a GNU/Linux user (there's no need for thumbs in GNU/Linux) and it just kind of stood out. I thought it might make it a little bit more multi-platform friendly.

Sorry.
