What's new
  • Most issues reported these days stem from users not enabling their emulators to use the required amount of RAM.
We also tend not to use the search feature but post our issues within the texture pack release page.
Failure to load a texture pack should not be posted in the release thread unless you have already patched the emulator.

If you don't have the resources to use Large/HD texture packs please do not attempt to do so.
Users should have a minimum amount of System RAM not less then 4GB's.
If you have less then 4GB's of RAM do not post about how your emulator crashes,
RAM is dirt cheap so invest some money into your PC.

I would like to say thanks to squall_leonhart
    for posting this Solution.

hm, well you're right you're the one who started this, so would you do it?

@mots: sounds good, you could definitely help. Since death--droid started this it's his turn first.

@cerebus: would do you mean by broken? Is there an error in the zip file? You need to have both in the same directory when extracting.

Not bad, just a few suggestions:
- There's a gap between the tiles
- The edges look a bit too round, if you're using layer effects with bevel and emboss, use chisel instead of smooth, this will make it look sharper

I reuploaded PartII, here the updated links
Part I
Part II

Update! Sweet! I've been really out of it for the last week or so... I actually have some of the textures done on Jabu Jabu, but I haven't had time to work on it recently. Hopefully I'll get some time to work on that this weekend.

I'm working on downloading the Zelda CRP Beta now... I'll post again when I get a chance to look at the new textures. I'm excited to see Kakariko and the graveyard.

On a different note, I don't think I can handle everything--between work and work and... work, and fixing a car and the retexturing and my inexperience in these matters, I just don't think I can handle running things around here. Hopefully someone else can step up to the plate.

@death--droid::Yeah, I wondered about that. Actually, all the lava from Dodongo cavern is missing... there are a ton of files involved in that, so it's a lot of extra size... I can resize most of the pngs to reduce file size and re-upload that stuff... let me know if that's what you want to do.

So this isn't simply a high res / graphical upgrade pack, it also changes the art style? I saw a few pictures and it seems completely different artistic direction than the original game.

I like Fed's work, but it's only @ 0.21 from what I can see, I dunno where you'd find the latest, and it doesn't look like it's updated. I only wanted higher res / slight graphical improvements, not changes to the game itself.

@Mkilbride::not sure why you think we are changing the game... our main goal is to hold true to the original game while improving the graphics.

All we are doing is replacing the in-game textures with high resolution, photo-realistic textures. Perhaps the pictures you saw were of Djipi's cel-shaded version of Ocarina of Time--it has a graphic style similar to that of the Wind Waker game. Please take a look here for a look at some of the textures we have done:

Better yet, try the pack out for yourself--links to the most recent beta (released a couple of days ago) can be found on the first post to this thread.

Yeah, I've seen that page before. It's not meant to offend, I just think it doesn't capture the original feel, personal opinion is all.

It lacks that charm, as I said. Photo-realistic has no place in Zelda. :p Looks weird and out of place.

Photo-realistic is perfect for Zelda OOT in my opinion :p
But i've had the luck of using Xenobonds amazing OOT retexture.
