Zelda Master Quest - all discussion here please

I've been able to make a 'level select' type code for the Master Quest, but I'm yet to find the beta type code. I'll keep trying though.

Does anyone know how to activate the debug and level select codes by switching the controllers around?:plain:

As far as I know the debug mode can only be accessed by having a cart and running on the the Nintendo 64 itself.

Ahn, and other toughts...

First - If someone used those Nintendo 64 Flash Link stuff, played the game on the Nintendo 64 and did the debug thing, teorically would be possible to know the exact time of the end of the compilation right? Usefull info, but...

Sencod - Why is the text all screwed up? Like, the name of the rom is EZLD AMTSREQ EUTS, and all the lines are mixed up...

That was not kinda supposed to be...
And if is, why is so different from the original rom?

If this ROM was dumped from the bonus disc that comes with the PAL (UK) release of Zelda Wind Waker GameCube, it wouldn't have been sped up from 50Hz. The disc solely runs at 60Hz (even the box itself says that the bonus disc is 60Hz). There is an IPS patch with the release that changes the region identification to NTSC, so it works on copiers. The real N64 never had a PAL60 mode, so the unpatched ROM fails.

And yes, on the bonus disc they have cut the Nintendo logo - probably didn't want to show the spinning N that indicates it's an N64 game ;)

Personally, I'd guess this is a dump of a prototype cart Nintendo used to confirm the Master Quest N64 code worked fine before porting to GameCube.

Wrongly byteswapped...but emulators should byteswap it correctly...
You could always try a byteswap tool to byteswap it "right."
Then the text will appear right!

I don't have any popping or crackling sound at all with The Master Quest. :) When I started the game I did hear some cracks, but after a while it disappeared. I ran it with Jabo's D3D6 1.5 with default settings (emulate clear on). I also have the sound synced to video. Maybe it's got to do with the fact that I ran the game without FPS limiting during the intro. While doing that I didn't have my sound synced so the no FPS limit effect (speed) would be better.

My specs are in my sig.

I guess you mean things like the beta quest? You can find it...

i think there something wrong with my URA zelda....:getlost:
am in dodongo's cavern and i cant figure out how to get some bombs in the dragons eye from above on the bridge bit, coz in normal OOT u find bombs in a chest in the temple. But i cant fine em anywhere. :geek:

I haven´t got to this part yet, but judging by how difficult Deku Tree was, there should be a way.

Just think..

And I guess that the forum rules doesn´t allow to ask how to get past of parts of games.

more than one sun artifact GFX error was gone since
Jabo's GFX 1.3. Are you using Jabo's GFX 1.2 or earlier?

Argh! URA Zelda crashes at end! (SPOILERS!)

I got all the way to the end. Whew.

But when Zelda says Goodbye... after taking the OoT, it goes to a black screen and freezes.

With Glide64, the whole machine locks up.

With Jabo's 1.5, the colors are screwy (because of my Voodoo), but I get the blank screen and this error:

Executing from non-mapped space

Verify ROM and ROM Settings

Whatzupwitdat?

I'm using a modified RDB by Duncan v0.9, if it helps.

Should I attach a save? Which save should I attach?

lol, found an annoying glitch in lord jabu's jabu's belly, theres 1 room at back with skulltulia, but u ant get it, and there r also to bats at back with it, but i cant c the bats, there invisable , not sure if its a glitch or just a new monster.. i could target it up close, thats how i know its there.:getlost:
