  • Most issues reported these days stem from users not enabling their emulators to use the required amount of RAM.
We also tend not to use the search feature but post our issues within the texture pack release page.
Failure to load a texture pack should not be posted in the release thread unless you have already patched the emulator.

If you don't have the resources to use Large/HD texture packs please do not attempt to do so.
Users should have a minimum amount of System RAM not less then 4GB's.
If you have less then 4GB's of RAM do not post about how your emulator crashes,
RAM is dirt cheap so invest some money into your PC.

I would like to say thanks to squall_leonhart

kman these new textures are freakin' awesome man! this was quite a large release, but i guess that's because it's your last one so your probably releasing everything you had done. with that said, i'm looking forward to seeing your textures for jabo's plugin. btw, is that you on the pj64 members forum with the name xenobond?

I just wanted to compare what the original game and the new pack looks like.
An animated gif is more convenient to compare in my opinion. The only problem is that it lowers the number of colors used.
Was the gif I posted really that bad looking? I don't think so. Just the sky and the item icons, oh big deal.
The rest of the picture looks fine to me. If you want OMG JPEGS, then here.

Why do people feel the need to go out of their way to insult other people's bands?
Does it make them feel better? Does it mean that they're RIGHT?
If you posted your favorite bands, and I thought they sucked, I wouldn't make an off-topic comment telling you how much they suck, because I'm not a JERK!

Unless you can contribute work at my level, I'd only end up redo-ing it later.

Fair enough. However, you didn't answer my question ;)

If you want it up to your standard, I'll get it up to your standard. That's not to say your standard is an easy feat to accomplish by any means, but I've been picking up a few tricks about texturing and stuff, and I'd love to test 'em out properly.

And, even if you re-do them later, at least I've tried to help and it'd better my own level of texturing.

So, come on, list please ;)

How about getting back on topic, huh?

While you're at it, edit your posts till you get rid off all that off-topic rubbish. And if there is nothing left... well, you should just delete your post.

Stuff like this makes me not want to post here any more.

where did you guys get the high res looking art for the sling shot, bow, boomerang etc?

what rom version is the one that displays link to the left of the equipment subscreen correctly?

i feel wierd

the textures for the sling shot etc. are just edited artwork pictures. you can find most of the original artwork on pretty much any zelda fan site. www.zeldalegends.net is a good site with lots of artwork if you wanna check it out. i'm not sure what you mean by that other question, sorry.

btw, i just noticed, under my username it says "member of the month" and there is a smiley guy with a crown. is that bad? i wouldn't think so but what in the hell did i do to be member of the month? i feel special now, but overcredited at the same time cause i didn't really do anything special. is this some kind of prank to make me feel akward? cause if it is, it's working.

The official artwork on that site is pretty small. I have seen a giant art render of the deku nuts and a giant art render of the slingshot but I cant remember where does anyone have these huge art renders?

My question is when you go to the subscreen that shows your equipment, songs, skultulas collected etc. On the equipment subscreen where you can change swords and shields there is supposed to be an image of link. My rom shows a pixelated and scrammbled square.

I am actually in Kakariko Village at night but for some reason it shows the backdrop as the Market front gate

Does anyone else notice this? I just think I am using a bad rom that was tweaked by someoned. The Rom is supposidly 1.2

Edit:

Also here is two of the super high res items that I was able to save but I cant find the super high res slingshot render or the fairy bow, or boomerang etc. Does anyone know where more of these exist?

Please help me.

I know more existed at one time did anyone save them?

The menu screen bug is a well known framebuffer issue that still is not resolved because nobody is working on Rice's video plugin anymore(even though he released the source to it). So that won't be getting fixed anytime soon. You can fiddle around with your own framebuffer options in the plugin settings, but there is no real perfect solution on it. You can get close, but that's about it.

you have to use Rice's video plugin to get a close picture of link in the equipment window?

cause right now I am using Jabo

I use Glide64 Wonder Plus with Hacktarux's UPDATED glide wrapper to support hardware frame buffer emulation, even on my ATi card!!! So now, when using Glide64, Link appears correctly--perfectly correct! That means, Link is not blurry or glitched up, and neither is the background--he appears exactly the way he's supposed to.

Unfortunately, I can't use it with Rice's plugin. For some reason, using OpenGL with his plugin causes the emulator to not show any video at all. :(

A new PJ64 is being developed with hires texture loading in it, and I intend to support it with my textures from now on as it offers better compatability with Zelda and Perfect Dark. When it finallly gets released, I'll have a pack or two ready to release.

Hi KMan. I hope you don't get upset over what I'm about to ask...but one of the moderators on the Project64 forums said 1.7 won't be complete until late 2007. Is this true? I hope not, because I love the work you've done to my favorite game of all time, and it's going to look so good when it's finished. Also, if you and others continued to make textures for the game and released packs before 1.7, couldn't you just use them when it's released anyway? Or is the plugin for Project 64 going to be completely different some how?

"when a public release is planned, I will make it well know publicly before hand.

your right there is not much need for me to do public releases, I do plan to make this public at some stage, most likely when I have finished working on it, so probaly a final release. My goal in making it public is more about how good it is then based on time. If I got enougth donation that I could work on this full time then a public version would come out soon. Since I am working on this in my spare time, things take a lot longer. When a release is likely I will probaly run a period of testing that we can make sure all things are stabalized and there is not other work that needs to be done. If I am not actively developing then it is not right for me to ask people to support in the development and there is none."

"Every donation is motivation. i say that again. every donation is motivation. this is really important because some of this stuff is very hard and very tedious. and at this stage there are not many "who can be the 1st to run game x" moments left. its like the long crawl up the plateau. or something.
i think originally zilmar said he had in mind late 2007 and that hasnt changed, but its done when its done and this setup gives us a chance to do things well."

Does anyone else think this guy wants to get as many donations as possible before releasing it? I mean full time? Is he going to quit his job and live off donations?

Don't get me wrong though, I don't mind that they accept donations, but do you think they've gone a little far? They don't even let you download the latest beta version without donating.

If you don't agree with it, just don't pay.
It's not going to change your life or Zilmar's.
Even if what you said is true, if you're not paying, then you shouldn't worry about.
I won't donate.
But i wont tell why.
if you don't want to donate to get the beta version, just don't pay and wait for the release.
If Project64 1.7 never comes out, then nothing changed in your life and you didnt waste money. :p

Ok, I guess I see your point. Of course my life's not going to change.

I've been really into Zelda lately and I hope Ocarina's high res textures are finished before Twilight Princess.

Hey KMan. I just got to 'Fairy Fountain', and your textures were beautiful! Especially the cherub. I can't wait for this to be finished! In comparison to the original, ugly, murky textures I think that to myself. That's why I asked you when it was finished. I hope that doesn't get on your nerves.

I'm planning on working on the Jabu Jabu area soon. And by soon, maybe in another month. But I probably won't release for Rice's plugin as it's a bit of a pain to go through and match up and resave each texture out into the correct names. That, and I'd have to rescale some textures down if I go above the 4x limit in rice's plugin.

You can rest easy though. I will NOT be done with the textures before Twilight Princess gets released. There is just no way.

I have your texture packs, and can get them to work with the Rice plugin, but for the Jabo plugin (1.7, I donated) I can only use the first two that are in the member download section. I tried putting your third pack into the zip file with the other two packs, but when I do that PJ64 says that there are no textures in it. Please tell me how to get this to work, or show me a link, cause I haven't seen any help info on how to do it with Jabos plugin.
