  • Most issues reported these days stem from users not enabling their emulators to use the required amount of RAM.
    We also tend not to use the search feature but post our issues within the texture pack release page.
    Failure to load a texture pack should not be posted in the release thread unless you have already patched the emulator.

    If you don't have the resources to use Large/HD texture packs please do not attempt to do so.
    Users should have a minimum amount of System RAM not less then 4GB's.
    If you have less then 4GB's of RAM do not post about how your emulator crashes,
    RAM is dirt cheap so invest some money into your PC.

I think he's just being more upfront and frank. Best to do it before someone works on textures, sends it to him and THEN he rejects it.

thanx for explain the pb... jabo and rice dont use the same hardware address for use it.
but for the search textures tool i think it wont work because too many textures in n64 use the same resolution ... and generaly the new textures are too diferent from original dump to find similitude in it... the solution is maybe a dump plugin and with it you can set rice hardware adress or jabo adress ... or if someone find a similitude in jabo textures adress and rice textures adress he can do a translater program.
i know its not the good thread to speak of this...

tailslol, i dont think you understood what i said. and i really dont want to try to explain it better, because i type really slow. as for that translator program you said something about, i think that's how jabo's conversion tool works, but it doesnt fully work yet. it will only convert like 60% of the textures right. to make a good conversion tool that works 100%, you'd probly need the source code for both plugins(maybe not, but it would probly be easier). and only jabo has the source for both plugins, so i'm kinda relying on him to make one. but since he's so busy, i doubt it will happen any time soon. that idea i had yesterday though, that was just a rough outline of how a conversion tool might work. i doubt it would even work.

here's the problem, do you know how effing slow that would be? It could take up to 24 hours to do a pack, and i dont know about you guys, but im sure you wouldn't want to leave your computer on for that long. Also, the odds of a program being able to determine which image was from which texture dumper and rename them to the one you choose are nill, you expect too much from software. However, i do believe a sorting program is very possible, and a good idea, it also would probably not require the source codes of either programs. You just have to leave the renaming for human hands, unless you intend to program an A.I. or something.

What's wrong with leaving a PC on for 24 hours? As long as both plugins extract accurate textures, his idea could work, as long as you had two complete original texture packs with the names from each plugin. I doubt it would really take 24 hours to do it on a decent machine though. The process could be greatly sped up if a the program went through each texture in the beginning and created a table of checksums of the image data, and then compared checksums rather than the entire images. But anyway this is getting off-topic. Once Jabo's new plugin becomes public we can worry about it.

Yes. Pack 03 should be up by now. You can find the link on the first page. It includes everything that has been made that is at least worth releasing.

Since Rice's plugin is not 100% at emulating Zelda as well as Perfect Dark, I am going to stop work on them for 1964 with Rice's video plugin. I'm releasing what I have done, though for it. A new PJ64 is being developed with hires texture loading in it, and I intend to support it with my textures from now on as it offers better compatability with Zelda and Perfect Dark. When it finallly gets released, I'll have a pack or two ready to release.

Nice news then, I wish you luck then :D (and looking forward to see your new works). But won't Rice make a new updated plugin sorting those out? (although we stopped seeing releases a while ago)

Also that new Project 64 plugin will "only" support Hi-res textures? is there anything else?

(I'm hoping for some custom shader's, cell shading and stuff like that, although I know it's hard)

He officially stopped working on it and released the source code to the public a while back.

You will have to donate to find out...

if it emulate 100% you ll need to make more textures :p its a good escuse for new 2d background ant other things you dont want to make ;)

True, and nobody has done anything with the source, so I don't see why I should bother with it anymore.

sweet, pack 3 is finally up. i'm gonna test it and stuff when it's done downloading. oh wait! it just finished right now. damn my internet is fast. it finished in less than a minute. anywho, i think it's great your moving this over to jabo's plugin. that kinda sucks for non pj64 members though, cause they'll have to wait until a public release is out to use it.

amazing package i had been out of this site for a while, for more than 2 years and now i come right when you guys make this amazing upgrade!!

gotta say that the emulatiion is not perfect still, but i highly improves alot!!, just some minor bugs like the screen delay, and others.... but those mainly differ from pc to pc, for example, i have a p4 2ghz, 512mb ram and a x1600pro agp, i run the game with Opengl, (radeion suppouse to sux with opengl) and it gives me excelent performance but some minor bugs, when using directx those minor bugs are out but the performance is so bad.

i would also like to say is that there are still some textures that can be improved, hope there are more versions of this kind of things.

yea realy good! some textures are mising but its amazing but i got a question
it will be the FIRST pack for jabo... it will be good to create a FULL pack for masterquest and ocarina of time (with 2d back grounds ,master quest logo,non emulated or non dumped textures who will work on pj64) and no escuses for dont release background or master quest stuff because it is the first pack for pj64...(cant go in federelli thread for take the textures like you have say before because these textures are now incompatible with jabo plugin ;) )

i dont know if this question should be here but here it goes, i was playing Zelda with the texture package , i have two stones and i was in kakariko village at the graveyard to get the sun song, so when i have it, i wanna play it and i cant! in fact i can play any song unless in some special locations where the game ask you for it, and when i got out of the tomb, a ghost appeared!! it is very weird, this hadnt happend to me before, i had play it and i have been way more advance than that and i havent had those problems :S, could someone help me???
