The Journey of a Nintendo DS

[sneakily off-topic still...]
The only sticking point was when Xboxhdm suddenly took a dislike to booting on my PC (worked with the "practice" old drives, just would not boot with the Maxtor 120GB - stupid "kernel panic" error). I ended up having to borrow use of a PC that'd accept the drive and load the disc but it turned out pretty nice. I think it helped that I had full access to the C: and E: partitions via FTP to copy from the original Xbox drive.
James Bond: Agent Under Fire - a good game only when used improperly apparently ;). I love the new drive and I'd highly recommend it as long as you have the means to softmod it or a modchip first. Cracking the case open and unscrewing the drive are basic jobs and then it's just standard swapping the power and IDE cable into the new drive.
All my 15 or so games are now just sitting there ready to go with better load times, and KOTOR II finally seems to have stopped crashing just as I'm reaching the end. Random side note, apparently Xboxes fitted with the "good" Thomson DVD drive (the only one that reads cdr's 100%) have a known fault with KOTOR II. They often can't cope with all the calculations being done in large battle scenes and the game freezes up. And believe me it fucking sucks. I even have room left to backup PC data onto it. Mm.
Ah Microsoft and the pointless revisions they've made... *sigh*
Now to see about getting WarioWare and FTM for that DS...

Anyone played anything worth while on the DS recently? Time for a new game methinks.

The movie player has excellent quality. I didn't think it'd be that good actually. You can play NES roms, music, movies, and more. And they add features with each firmware update (some small things, like bookmarking your e-books, or updating the emulation function, to allow 256k NES roms)

9.5/10 for this neat device ;)

When you say NES ROMs, you mean you upload the ROMs from a PC to the device or something? Or do you mean plug NES cartridges into it or what? If you can play NES games on the DS, that's pretty darned cool.

He's on about Nes ROMS, but there is a device that lets you play actual Nes games on the SP (and consequently, the DS also), which you can buy from most import sites.

Seeing as a few more people (UK'ers and Europeans at least) will now have a DS, feel free to bring this thread back to life and post some pics. :D

Well I just ordered this beauty...

(Although my missus went and ruined my day when she came home with a DS copy of The Urbz  )

Well so far for my DS I have Mario, Wario and Tiger Woods. I will probably get Yoshi when it comes out, too. I'm loving it so far, but then I've only had it since Thursday.

I've had mine since the 4th Jan, so take it from me, it just gets better and better. :D

Yes, the DS is a neat little piece of technology... I only have mario 64 ds, but I keep playing my gba games on it.
It has some small flaws, but I like it!

Roll on Animal Crossing and Electroplankton! :)

The only damn reason I stopped playing Animal Crossing was that I couldn't be there at all times... I fear for what a portable version will do.

Marty joins the gang! Guess who got a Nintendo DS as a gift? Not received yet but it should show up any day. :)

I wish mine was free. :(
I bought Yoshi's Touch&Go the other day. I'm still getting used to it, it seems alright but bloody hard if you're a thick cunt like me.
I bet if I get good at it, I'll love it.

I've been thinking of Yoshi's Touch And Go.

Might be tempted to pick it up. Or I could always convice the missus to buy it. ;)

It is a shame it is about high scores and not about an actual story or any progression. I hope it'll justify the £20 I spent on it.

Free Martin? Damn. I paid about $220 for mine, although that was because it was like a week after they were released and there was a huge shortage - and I'm a freak
