I unchecked the setting and glitches are still there. But it's only very noticable in zelda oot among all the other games I've tried so far. But I can finally see the sky in golden eye, yay! :bouncy:

Rice ,
For the previous problem I mentionned concerning the game Mario paper and your newest plugin , I found the solution , it was only a frame buffer related stuff,. I set basic framebuffeer under the option then get a normal speed in this part of the game ( as the puzzle in banjo tooie)

Anyway I got 2 question for you :

1) I notify that with the same game , with the same plugin ( latest rice , pj15sound , pj1.5 controler ) Paper mario is more SMOOTH by far in pj64 than in 1964 , can you explain me why?

2) Is there a way to fix the "flashing screen " in mario paper which switch between background and the main screen very fast in the main place of the game ( toadtown) This "bug" has been reported but I dunno if there is a way to fix that..

Thx for all and see ya in a next version ! :)

Lasly, I can answer the first question, that should be obvious, it isn't the video plugin but the core emulator in question that makes it smoother or jerkier.. obviously PJ64 runs the game better than 1964 does for you therefore it will appear smoother...

Remember.. the CPU core is the most important thing.. then the video/sound and input, theoretically... you don't need any video, sound or input for the game to run.. but it wouldn't be much fun would it?

An example of the otherway round: Banjo-Kazooie in 1964 is much smoother than in PJ64.

Thx for the answer dude :) it may be come from the core of 1964, anyway , I tought that this one was faster than the pj64 one..

Then rice , it still one answer ! :)

Thank your for this amazing release Rice.
It would be nice to release the source code, too, so people don't have to fix things in the old source that are already fixed.
But it's your decision.

I found a problem. When you have fog enabled and play Goldeneye, there is always fog, for example, in Facility, there is always a green haze. This is only susposed to appear after you have blown up the gas tanks.

To Rice:

Well.. I have both nVidia Geforce 2 MX and Geforce FX...and I noticed there are differences between these two cards (using same driver and settings). While Geforce 2 MX Seems to do perfect job ,on Geforce FX ,All the 2D Objects look bit squashed ..specially texts...... Could this be something to do with hardware (chipset)? as you also have these two video cards, you may answer this...

just compare these two screenshots the first shot is captured using GeforceFX and the second one is Geforce 2 MX....

The Game is Star Soldier 64

1964 is faster.. but that doesn't nessicarily mean smoother, it is just a fact of emulator life that one will work better in some roms than others... another example... Conkers bad fur day is clearly better in pj64, and banjo-tooie is clearly better in 1964 0.8.5.

These are the settings I use in paper mario. No flickering and the characters are visible in dark areas.

Ummm... could anyone pleeeze tell me his plugin settings, because the camera still spins totally weird in Conker's BFD (only when controlling him, not in cut-scenes).

The camera is repeatedly moving around, probably because of the frame buffer settings. You should try it with the frame buffer options disabled.

I have been noticing that Conker's Bad Fur Day locks up randomly.

Also some other symptoms:

When windowed, the game randomly got closed on me, but not the entire emulator! It randomly closes on me like if I clicked on "Close ROM"!

Randomly dumps me to the 1964 GUI when playing!

Then if I'm in full screen mode, 1964 randomly closed on me with no message at all!

When windowed, the emulator itself usually don't randomly terminate on me, but the plugin randomly halts the emulation.

Also, 1964 randomly locked up and thus was required to terminate 1964.exe with Task Manager. :( Thank God that Windows never crashed!!!

It's probably not my PC, because it's Prime95 stable and 3D Mark 2001 SE stable!!!

Only gotten the above symptoms with Conker's Bad Fur Day.

The ROM is a good ROM, AFAIK.

All of this happens to me also. I'm also having lock-up issues in DK64.

The main development Im happy about is mystical ninja!

Mystical Ninja is one of my favourite games too. But it's been emulating 100% perfectly for 2 years now...
