And note that if you Blu-ray OR HD-DVD you would miss out on one, plus it would increase the price of the system AND make it more likely to break. Oh wait, maybe they should include BOTH? Oh, that's an idea! ...But it's too expensive.
Even so! Both formats are too new. We'll get a player when the time is right and you'll bet they'll be a lot more compatible and less buggy than the one included in PS3.
Ahhh, so just because it's not DVD/CD, means it's more likely to break. Funny thing is, with all it's problems, the Dreamcast (which used a new format) had less problems with it's drive than anything else. Ironic, isn't it? And for some people, that time is now. People have been buying HDTV's now for a couple years, why have a game that can't put that shiny new TV to good use?

Well, there's plenty of good titles available for now.
That will only last so long....

No, DVD on TV looks great and hey, even a DivX (or XviD? I don't know what it was) looked good too. No problems. No subpar quality.
Wrong again. DVD doesn't magically make the TV's resolution any better. It's 640x480 interlaced, no matter what's being played on it.

In your imagination, yes. It means developers can do the same as on other systems in less amount of time.
Yeah, because they've had so much practice at making those same games last generation, they don't need to learn to use new technology. There's just one drawback: that makes the Wii have NOTHING but a gimmicky controller over the Gamecube.

Don't be so sure. In the future, it will probably take 5 years to get a new title. Or wait, 10 years! Is that how you want it? Oooh... maybe we'll have to pay a little more to play our games, like Grand Turismo! Yes! Isn't that wonderful? Well, get used to it - because that's what's happening because of Sony and Microsoft's approach.
Given the price of the disc is like $1, you don't lose much with Gran Turismo HD. Nobody says you have to buy EVERYTHING available.

Yes, idiots who didn't get a proper childhood. Like you. They have preconceptions about everything that doesn't match their way of doing things. Like those who bully people on the school yard. People who cannot see past their own way of thinking. I'll stay away from such retarded places, thank you very much.
And you remind me of those holier than though, stuck up, prissy girls that nobody liked in school.

But fancy this...
Hypothetically, in the future there are only TWO game consoles: The Revolution and the PS3. Imagine that all the good games you wanted ended up on the Revolution and not the PS3. Would you still buy the Revolution even though it's "wacky" controller?
Remember, this is hypothetically.
It won't happen, because the games I want are already slated for release on PS3.
As a side note, this little tidbit comes from a Wii owner that posted his opinion about the console at
General Emulation. Now keep in mind, Nevermore (maker of this post) is a neutral party, and isn't even aware that I'm sharing this with any of you.:
