Then quit talking about it and show me where you've done your research. Last time I asked for a site, you claimed you hadn't done the research, now you're changing your own story and saying you have. You're getting less crdible by the second.

Okay, I'm confused. Where did I say no loading times? I said "very little." Not 15 seconds. Plus it also does it in real time; you can fool around in the game while it's loading.

Gran Turismo from XMB to ingame was about that same amount of time.

But how many games were online? One or two?
Weather and news aren't import, but they are part of the new console, see? Extra functionality for the Revolution. Oh and, I THINK that weather might come in handy... I don't have to wait 20 secs for the computer to boot and visit a weather site to see today's weather. And before you ask, I never watch the weather on TV...
Just because you can't SEE there is no horsepower doesn't mean there ISN'T any. Besides, it is a FACT that the Revolution is more powerful than the GC. I kid you not. Check the specs.

Fact is, online support is there, but a good way to push people on the same promises of online play, but in order to really have it this time, they have to buy the new console. Because even though the old one has it, somehow it's not as good as the new one. Here's what I really think as it concerns you. If Nintendo had put a DVD player in the Wii, and Sony hadn't put any kind of movie player in PS3, then you'd use it as a way to state the Wii was better. But since that's not the case (and with you being such a Nintendo fanboi and all), you choose to downplay it and pretend it's not important.

I see it as a trend. Games are becoming like movies. Movies are expensive. Movies often need strong backing up of a big company or need sponsors. Either way, there is a lot of commercial involved.

If that happens, then that also kills your theory of producing hi res/hi power games putting game devs out of business.

Right... maybe you're just jealous because they find the Revolution has something else than just horsepower.

And the Wii has nothing that the Gamecube doesn't or couldn't do.

No, it's definitely true. It IS and WILL put companies out of business. And make it even harder for smaller companies to produce games. Thank Nintendo for the emulation - that will probably (maybe) be their salvation. They can make old games. They don't cost as much and entertain nevertheless.

Well, I never intended to get into a heated discussion about this, but somebody needed to point out the fact that just bashing the PS3 without evidence was unnecessary. I'm happy with what I like, and I don't care what anyone else has decided on when it comes to the new consoles. But when people start getting insulted for simply showing interest in their choice of console, I don't mind getting my two cents in as well.

This is an emulation/gaming community, with gamers of their own preferences. There's more than enough Wii love going around, so what's wrong with tye stik liking something else? He didn't bash Nintendo to express his opinion, yet the typical fanbois jumped on him like a pack of wolves to raw meat, simply because his preference was different than theirs. grrrrrrrr........ Why Sony fanboys exists? Clements explanation about the Cell tells everything about PS3. Cell processor is very powerful but is not designed for a game console. The results: a more expensive console that won't ever use its theoretical potential.

So many PS3 fights threads? How many times I have to say that Blu Ray is totally unnecessary? Uncompressed and useless for gaming whoa!

I guess if Plot was used to traditional controllers, he didn't liked the SNES controller because it added the X, Y, L and R buttons. And he never used the analog stick introduced with the N64 and later with the PS1.

About Wii, mmm I won't probably buy a console but if I buy one it would be a Wii. BTW I'm not complaining that the Wii doesn't have DVD movie playback, but including it won't be a bad idea, and it's not so expensive as many people are posting. In fact in late 2007 a newer Wii version with DVD playback included will be released and I don't think that it will cost a lot more of money...

I recall reading something about gaming fanboy but i was wondering if you are the gaming fanboy you claim to be wouldn't be worth playing the games on any particular console before you decide the PS3 is the best. Hardware aside theres a huge market for the kind of stuff the Nintendo Wii is doing and of course the Xbox360 is a lot cheaper and does more or less display the same kind of graphics the PS3 does.

For example in the era of PS1 there was two consoles more powerful the N64 and Dreamcast however the PS1 maintained a huge lead.

Another such example was the PS2 based purely on specifications was the least powerful console this generation but was the most popular out of the lot.

No one can predict the events that are likely to occur I mean back in the 90's the battle was between Sega and Nintendo and who would have ever thought a newcomer to the market like Sony could become the leader of the field.

From reading some of your posts you did list games that were PS3 exclusive and most likely they are going to be good games however being the gaming fanboy that you claim to be wouldn't it be a better choice to play games regardless of the format ?

I personally have no preference or brand loyalty at this moment in time however price for me is holding me back otherwise knowing that the PS3 is going to be well supported I would have made it my main console and then the Nintendo wii for the opportunity to play new types of gameplay.
However with the price being the deciding factor I'm more cautious this time around because I want to see if the PS3 will be more supported than the Xbox360 because if near enough the same games come out on both consoles then for me the PS3 won't be worth the kind of money I'll have to shell out for it.
So while the PS3 may well be hailed as the most powerful console it remains to be seen if its worth buying over the Xbox360 because as you said its all about the games.

And sorry the PC's not up to par for what you consider to be the standard of what a gamer should have, but being a single dad with a kid in school, I don't get the luxury of dumping all my money into new toys every week. That's why I have to be picky about what I do buy. I can't afford all 3 consoles, so I'll just go with the one that has the best games. Side note, the PC is getting an upgrade, I'm expecting a Conroe in the mail any day now.
