  • Most issues reported these days stem from users not enabling their emulators to use the required amount of RAM.
    We also tend not to use the search feature but post our issues within the texture pack release page.
    Failure to load a texture pack should not be posted in the release thread unless you have already patched the emulator.

    If you don't have the resources to use Large/HD texture packs please do not attempt to do so.
    Users should have a minimum amount of System RAM not less then 4GB's.
    If you have less then 4GB's of RAM do not post about how your emulator crashes,
    RAM is dirt cheap so invest some money into your PC.

On to a new Area

This time I'm workin on LonLon Ranch, which is rather difficult because of a single wood texture that is applied damn near everywhere. My texture doesn't exactly look good on everything.. However, as plainly obvious, this is a picture of my current progress with LonLon Ranch. I re-textured Malon's hair to be finer and look overall better. My Link has brown hair :p I'm dying for oldschool Zelda. I still have to fix the top corner of the Ranch house, I had a board issue, but it's not too problematic. I realize that the grass seems a bit green, that's because I have the same map applied to both grass textures. I will toy with this later to see what results I get.

By the by, is someone still working on Sky cubes? I had a go at Hyrule Castle sky globe and failed horribly. Hyrule's looking great in hi res with a nice blurry sky :]

Corrupted menu in Zelda

Hi,
first af all my congraturations for the exellent work done so far,if I had any exuse to not play the game on more time trough, now they are all gone !!
However I got a few issues with the menu screen.
Just take a look at the pic:

I am using PJ1.6 and Rice 6.1.1 beta 10 and my system specs are

Windows XP Home Edition v2002 SP 1
Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.80GHz 1.50GB DDR RAM
nVidia Geforce 6800 GT 256MB
SoundBalster Live!

I serched the faq but couldn't find anything.Am I missing something ?

That has nothing to do with textures, it's a computer/rom thing. Almost everybody has that problem with this game...or at least everyone I've talked to.

I love the pics its look s awsome but when I download it, it completes at 2 or 4 MB insted of the full 20mb Im useing DSL on Aol 8.0 browser I shall try Firefox now. and by the way q_armand your emulator migh be corupt try redownloading it and reinstalling it. I had that problem with pJ64.

That's a problem with the framebuffer emulation of rice's plugin. If you want to use hires/cel-textures you must play with the options to get better results (which are also not brilliant), live with those problems or try gln64, my favourite n64-gfx-plugin written by orkin, which has no support for enhanced textures atm, but orkin is working on it...

Ok now I got it to Download with Firefox but 7-Zip wont unzip it I am getting anoyed lol but I dont know help me please I want to play this so bad!!!!!

Can anyone give me a dump of all of Kakariko Village's textures in uncompressed pngs?

I take back what I said, if I can get all the textures as all.png (for some reason I only get the 8-bit dumps with all the textures) I will not only continue Kakariko Village, but finish it and have it looking awesome.

Yes I have it, but when I dump the textures I get some that are only extracted as the 8-bit BMP with indexed colors. For example the ones that are in the zip of Kakariko village. If I had the uncompressed png of them I wouldn't have saved them like that, but I don't get them when I dump.

Now im confused I put the too DLL files from rices video plug in the System 32 windows folder plus the PJ64 plugin folder, and I put the BMGLib in with them. Then I set the video plugin to rice 10. When I load pJ64 rices video plugin comes up But I dont see a place to set the directory for the textures or any place it says in the Text file that came with your file. So I went to the Setting tab under options now it says unable to find Msvcp71dll, unable to load ricesvideoplugin.dll what should I do. Can someone explain this more too me I kind of new to this sorry.

I must admit that yours do look more like the original in terms of transparency. But i like the effect of mine, when the heart is filled.

I think that Fed's hearts look better filled and Zeytok's empty, so that should be the combination :p

Perhaps I should quit since nobody seems to be very supportive, feels more like I'm being ignored :| Anyway, here is Lake Hylia, took me all day to find the proper textures and re-do them. Overall, I'm happier with the way Lake Hylia turned out in comparison to LonLon Ranch. The Lake hasn't ever looked as peaceful and pristine.. even the intrusion of a Tektite or a Sea Octorock can't disrupt the lakes beauty.. Anyway, someone please let me know what they think based on the images.

Kakariko Dump

Dave, here is a dump of all of Kakariko's textures. I had to include bmp's as well, because most of the house textures were only as bmp's. So the ones I have are PNG's with Alpha, and ci_bmp, so if you have to edit an alpha channel for something, you can. All textures are named properly for instant editing and usage. I look forward to your release.

Kas, you work is good. It looks to be in between cel-shaded and realistic - kid of like a painting, or a well-drawn anime. Perhaps you should create your own thread, as it does not fit precisely with either pack.
Actually, come to think of it, its style is more similar to Twilight Princess' style. Perhaps your work could be what mdtauk will test his Twilight Princess HUD on.

Anyway, good stuff with the new pack. Finally, true hi-res dialogue and menus! w00t!
And let's not forget the new world textures and HUD. Maybe this project will gain momentum again.
