  • Most issues reported these days stem from users not enabling their emulators to use the required amount of RAM.
    We also tend not to use the search feature but post our issues within the texture pack release page.
    Failure to load a texture pack should not be posted in the release thread unless you have already patched the emulator.

    If you don't have the resources to use Large/HD texture packs please do not attempt to do so.
    Users should have a minimum amount of System RAM not less then 4GB's.
    If you have less then 4GB's of RAM do not post about how your emulator crashes,
    RAM is dirt cheap so invest some money into your PC.

I've dumped all of the appropriate textures, the ones that haven't been made hi-rez yet.

I'm giving it a shot myself...if I can do it, I'll be done by tonight, and have the completely English pack up in the morning.

EDIT:
I've done almost all of it (I ended up making over 100 extra textures from scratch! :bouncy:), but I'm having a couple issues.

1. Glide64 refuses to dump the menu names for these textures: Fish, Bug, Empty Bottle, and Kokiri Forest. By menu names, I'm referring to the name that appears in the text box at the bottom of the window in the menu. For example, if you had the selection box over an empty bottle, it would say "Empty Bottle" at the bottom of the menu.

2. The items whose name changes as it is upgraded (Quiver and Bomb Bag) will not always be textured. I need dumps of all different forms of these to texture all versions (for example, Quiver that holds 10 arrows, 20 arrows, 40 arrows, or 50 arrows (I just made those numbers up, so they may be wrong, but you get the point)).

3. I need dumps of temporary quest items, such as the egg and the chicken.

If nobody provides these before the release of the final pack, then I'll add them myself when the final pack comes out since I plan on playing throughout the entire game again upon the final release. The same goes for 2.

4. I'll upload the new English pack when I get the dumps for 1&2.

5. I'm also trying to make the "Would you like to save?" menu hi-rez, but that also refuses to dump. I need the textures that say: "Would you like to save?," the "Yes" and the "No," and the "to Decide" at the bottom.

That's all. If anyone can provide me with these dumps, I can finish up the English section of OoT, and we'll be ready for the final release. :matrix:

On a side note, I changed some of the textures that ctatumt made for inclusion within the pack in my signature because some of his textures on the main menu did not blend in. It was a big blue box with some white text within it that stood completely out. I also completed the menu textures, and now all text concerned with erasing/copying files has been re-textured (ctatumt, it turns out that we were both wrong. There's THIRTEEN total English textures associated with those two actions. Surprising, hmm...?).

Please don't take offense that I replaced some of your textures ctatumt...it just didn't blend at all. If you want to use your own, you can replace mine in "English - Main Menu."

On another side note,
Djipi, do you plan on updating the outline for the magic bar?

If you can provide me with every German texture, then I'll do it and even include it within my pack.

If you need a reference as to the textures I will need, take a look within the English folders in my pack.

If anyone could dump the "Current Position" and the names of the positions such as in the following screenshot (it wouldn't dump for me):

Then I will also retexture that.

I have the English version of the current positions. But, I renamed then for Master Quest. I have to go to work right now, but I'll rename them, and send them to you.

I am. I would highly appreciate it if you send me the font that you used so that I could edit the main menu textures to match yours, that would be great. :)

With both of your fonts (maybe they're the same, they're pretty similar), I could get everything to match up.



About my inability to dump ALL textures with Glide64:

The reason that I didn't dump my textures using the Rice Video plugin (maybe it's a problem with Glide64?) is that whenever I checked "Dump textures to files" it immediately unchecked itself whenever I loaded the OoT ROM, and as such, I couldn't get it to dump. It'd be great if someone could provide insight on this...then I could dump all of them myself.

Aristotle builds give me an error, it says that loading the plugin failed when I go to settings to change it. I tried updating DX, and Rice Video works fine, but Aristotle is useless atm.

EDIT:
All builds from v6.1.6-6.1.9 fail. The only build that works properly atm is the Debug for v6.1.7 (I'm fairly sure that was the version).

However, this is not my computer. I will try the Aristotle builds when I get back home. These are pieces of crap (don't even support FSAA), so I'm not surprised that I won't be able to work on these.

Will give an update on whether it works or not in ~8 hours (I'm a Junior in HS).

It would be great if both of you guys could send me those fonts by tonight (not to rush, but I'd love to polish off the English section tomorrow).

On a side note, now that I've dumped some textures and made my own, it's easy to see how much work Djipi has put into the project.

It took me about 4 hours just to redo the English text; I can hardly believe that Djipi had such dedication to redo the entire game (almost now).

EDIT4:
Not only does Aristotle refuse to dump textures (same problem as Rice), but it won't load my hi-res textures either (crashes upon loading all hi-res textures).

I don't think I made the current location files. I must have a different version of Djipi's pack than you do. Because I swear that mine had the menu text and the game select text retextured. I upgraded my PC, so I had to redownload all of my roms. Unfortunately, my version of Master Quest won't load my files, so I can't tell for sure if the text works. I may just rename everything back to The Legend of Zelda so I can see what I have.

I don't think I made the current location files. Even if I did, I don't remember what it is. I'm going to rename all of my pack, and upload it for you, so you can compare it with what you have.

OMG!

After HOURS of trying to figure out how to dump textures with Rice, I've FINALLY figured it out.

It turns out that you check the "Dump textures" box AFTER you load the ROM. *Suicide*

Is there any hotkey to turn this off and on?

I've managed to dump all the textures I need! :D

Once someone gives me a font that I can use, I'll upload the pack that is entirely retextured in English. :)
