  • Most issues reported these days stem from users not enabling their emulators to use the required amount of RAM.
    We also tend not to use the search feature but post our issues within the texture pack release page.
    Failure to load a texture pack should not be posted in the release thread unless you have already patched the emulator.

    If you don't have the resources to use Large/HD texture packs please do not attempt to do so.
    Users should have a minimum amount of System RAM not less then 4GB's.
    If you have less then 4GB's of RAM do not post about how your emulator crashes,
    RAM is dirt cheap so invest some money into your PC.

AFFECTED, not EFFECTED. Sorry, I'm a stickler for grammar, and that one just kills me.

Color looks better on the second version, chaos. I'll wait and see what happens with stef's version of the beveling before I say anything about it.

@stef--when you're done, can you upload the PSD file for chaos, so he can see what settings you used for your bevel? No better way to learn than by seeing how someone else did it, and trying yourself.

could you upload a savestate from the room where the texture is displayed. i have finished the texture but i need to check it before i upload it. d--d , you were saying that the textures should have a big dip like a step instead of a ridge like chaos's weren't you?

@d--d: LOL. I can't beleive you took that blade seriously. It was a joke. I thought its glaring lack of quality was self-explanetory. Thanks for the tutorial though.

chaos, whats the file name of the original texture? the only thing thats stopping me from testing it that i have no idea what the original was called as yours is just called v2

i messed up the bottom layer completely and accidently merged a few layers then saved lol so ill explain what i did with the bottom layer. with the bottom layer i simply copied and pasted bits ontop each other ,then fiddled around with the layer options and blending effects, giving a stair effect . i then took the bottom bit with the shadow and copied that and flipped it round and put it above the other bit as the original for some reason had shadows on both sides lol

Very Nice skins. God I missed out on so much. This is kinda a random question but will there be a V5 pack?
Plus I'm getting a problem. I have the textures for the Brown Treasure chests, but as the cutscenes shows Link opening them, the sides of the Treasure box is still the N64 graphics, while the front of the treasure box is hi-res. I have the textures for the sides, but does anybody know the problem? Should I post my Computer information as well?

death--droid is planning to release a v5 pack when a significant amount of new work has been contributed... which he's said multiple times in the last few pages.

d--d, can you put something in the first post about the v5 pack? Might cut down on the number of times you get asked about it.

Alright, here's part one of my weekend update. I've revisited last week's textures with another revision. I've darkened, desaturated and increased (slightly) the contrast of the cave walls to the temple entrance. I reworked the shell carving to add a little more lighting. I also changed the way I was recoloring it, so it's a little more dynamic. I also edited Zeckron's stone blocks, which I'm not thrilled about, but it seems like no one's thrilled with how they look here. I kept his base textures and shapes, but increased the bevels and added a shadow to show extra depth. Hopefully they look better, because I'm not really comfortable with changing them much more than this. Anyway, screens:

Edit--I probably won't work on these textures anymore this weekend, otherwise I'll never make any progress on the INSIDE of the temple. But that doesn't mean I won't work on them again next weekend.

Shouldn't have messed with the other layers, messed it up it :p

Lewa made some blurred lines(from what I can see), is what you wanted DD?

also I just started watching THIS, looks good so far 12 mins in, I'll edit once I finish it
P.S. it doesn't play in Media Player Classic or Windows Media Player, but VLC runs it just fine.

@Chaoszerox yes but more alot more thinner like the original texture(Keep your previous one just in case it doesn't end up looking that great)!

I keep PSDs of all the saved versions(and only when I make decent, positive progress) of ALL of my work, and I never delete ANYTHING. If any1 ever wants one of my PSDs, just ask, but credit should be due if you use it :p also I'm not uploading it all LOL
BTW this is no new work, it's all old stuff.
