  • Most issues reported these days stem from users not enabling their emulators to use the required amount of RAM.
    We also tend not to use the search feature but post our issues within the texture pack release page.
    Failure to load a texture pack should not be posted in the release thread unless you have already patched the emulator.

    If you don't have the resources to use Large/HD texture packs please do not attempt to do so.
    Users should have a minimum amount of System RAM not less then 4GB's.
    If you have less then 4GB's of RAM do not post about how your emulator crashes,
    RAM is dirt cheap so invest some money into your PC.

The Sun

I can see why no 1 has re-textured this before, but the moon has been re-textured.
The Sun(normal) and The Sun(dawn and dusk, both use same textures) both are composed of 3 textures each, making 6 total textures.
These 3 textures are so wildly tiled, most of the time making the texture was dealing with the tiling.
It really wasn't that hard for me, but for someone else it might take hours I could easily imagine 0_o
I've only done the normal daytime Sun right now, but I will get on to the dusk/dawn sun (I think)
I spent a little extra time making sure it tiled absolutely perfectly at least on my system, so tell me if you notice any tiling issues on your system.

Anyway, what I really want from YOU reading this is to tell me if you like the sun, or should I remake it with fewer rays, shorter rays, and/or something else about it that would make it better.

EDIT:fixed a very minor tiling issue, only move something by 1 pixel, you might not even spot it in the screeny
Also can't wait to see the completed mag. hammer icon texture ^_^

Good job Chaoszeox but the inner white bit(Circle) needs to extend out near the tips, also the lines need to be uneven like in the original sun texture..

Definitely, definitely, going to redo the bottles at some point. My old ones look so hand-drawn...I've learned to use the ellipse tool (and pen tool, and channel-blur-levels) since then.
I just noticed that the milk bottle texture(s?) in the v4 pack don't have the blue "MILK" label the originals had, can't wait to see your new bottles :D
I'll work on that Sun again (normal version), and make a final version before I split it up and spend my time re-tiling it again.

I will finish my rug textures...just having more fun doing this ATM :p

Not really sure what to do about the rays...I used a photoshop brush I downloaded to make them. Here's v2 I'm working on, on a background color the same as the sky in the v4 pack

Is it good, if not I think I might need some ideas to make the rays better...

Better now just make the lines uneven like some short some long unless that is to hard.

added 0.7 guassian blur to the rays and made them less even. Does it need more of something?

lewa since you're uploading them as PNGs why not show is the transparency insead of putting it on a background. The original has transparency on the bottle itself right?

@Lewa the top of the bottle needs to look more cylindrical as at the moment it kind of only looks like a bottle cut in half..
@Chaoszerox that is a lot better.

It depends. Is it supposed to be nonfat or whole milk? :p

(I'm hinting at the second one BTW.)

Looks pretty good! Would love to start on it. But is it possible to render it on a transparent background?

EDIT: And antialiased? If not, then just do a huge render and it'll antialias when I scale it down. Will also be able to fine tune the details on a bigger canvas.

You could just render a brown handle if you want, I can make it clothy.

i will do it when i get home. I think the flat side of the hammer could also need some reflections. Perhaps you can do it. I could also help you with the glass if you want.

Yes glass is giving me a terrible time. Never learned how to do it, neither in photoshop nor in Povray. COuld never get the photons right...

Hey droid, can't get avatars to work, keep getting an error message. "Unable to move/copy file." Want to get ridda my annoying sig but want an avatar for readability.

EDIT: What am I thinking, thought you were a mod!

That's very nice Lewa, one note you don't have to make it smaller, its fine at the size it is.
EDIT:
Woops i think I know what you mean, you mean it being scaled down to the size used in game....
