  • Most issues reported these days stem from users not enabling their emulators to use the required amount of RAM.
We also tend not to use the search feature but post our issues within the texture pack release page.
Failure to load a texture pack should not be posted in the release thread unless you have already patched the emulator.

If you don't have the resources to use Large/HD texture packs please do not attempt to do so.
Users should have a minimum amount of System RAM not less then 4GB's.
If you have less then 4GB's of RAM do not post about how your emulator crashes,
RAM is dirt cheap so invest some money into your PC.

Hi ppl ;3

I'm want to try texturing some places in zelda OOT, however I can't find all the original textures from the game. I really can't edit anything without it.
does anybody here know a link where I can download a zip which contains all the textures from the game.

I hope anybody can help :3

Well, I'm sure you understand how to dump textures. Normally, it only dumps a texture when it loads in the game.

But if you want a pretty complete set of textures, you can download Djipi's cell mod. It has most everything in it. However, for this project, I sorta recommend starting with the original textures, since we are trying to stay roughly within the original style.

hmm yes :/ I already downloaded the celda mod but I don't want the cartoony textures. and I have no idea how to dump textures. What I'm looking for is a zip file just like the celda mod but then with all the original or maybe even the high-res, textures

:stupid: (just kidding)

Yes, after you download and get one of those working - WAIT.
I recommend downloading the 1964 video plugin that Zeckron posted for me a page or so back. EDIT: Link: http://www.mediafire.com/file/nixnxkmzq2j/1964Video.zip

Okay, so after you get that working, let us know if you need more help. It's a bit tricky getting started, but once you have it, it's not that difficult.

If your computer can run glide64, its the better of the 2, no argument (glide64 supports all the FBE and proper LOD), if not Rice Video offers more compatibility.

sorry, my computer got occupied. I just downloaded lewa's link. however I still don't know where to click on when starting up the rom. another question: lets say I want the shadow temple textures. do I have to be at the shadow temple to dump them.

better question, how do I use those downloadable plug-ins to dump textures?

Thanks Lewa. Yeah on this 2nd revision i lowered the contrast, saturation, and softened it a bit. And I agree I think it looks too flat, but I thought the original problem was that it was too sharp so that's the direction I was going.

Death--Droid, is that what you mean? Was the 1st revision too flat? B/c on that one I really jacked up the contrast and lowered the saturation. So I think I'm confused

The bricks are a lot better and yes it was to flat.
The wood is just about right now as well, nothing wrong with it :p

Hey guys I found out about this project about two months ago and downloaded your texture pack. I got excited about it and went to work compiling a master texture pack. I combined your world textures with some of Ferreldi's textures and character and interface textures from the OoT twilight princess texture pack. Since then I have been picking up where the project left off. I created my own version of Dondago's Cavern prior to your release and re textured zoras domain, Lord Jabu Jabu's interior, the sacred forest meadow, and the forest temple so far. I also expanded on your kokari forest textures to include the lost woods. I have been picky to only include textures that will look good in 1080p so all my locations should appear crisp. That said this is a work in progress and I'm still fairly new at this so feel free to comment on textures that don't look right. I am posting a link to download the textures for the locations listed above. I have chosen not to post my entire texture pack due to it's rather excessive size but it will be available on request. I would very much like to contribute to the N64 Redux project so have a look and see what you think. I am particularly proud of Lord Jabu Jabu and the forest temple but constructive criticism is always welcome. Ocarina of Time is classic and I'm glad you guys are giving it a second wind which hopefully I can contribute to.

Awesome, going to check this out. Much respect to all you guys for all your hard work. Please keep it up :)

For some reason glide doesn't load all the textures for me. I'm using a texture pack I found on here that combines this one with a bunch of other custom textures but glide doesn't load them all.

I have no idea how they load them but it appears the ones that aren't loading are all with a certain name - the ones that end in ciByRGBA which are the same as the ones that end in 'all' (32bpp). I'd love to switch to glide but until I get them working, I can't. Any ideas?

Welcome to the thread wybornya.

I won't personally have an opportunity to load your textures you referenced until later this weekend, but I look forward to it.

Your help and expertise would be most welcome here, as long as you follow the main themes regarding the project:
1) Try to recreate the original artist's concepts and ideas in your retextures, but of course in higher rez (some "creative licences" are allowed, but try not to go too far; I have personal experience here)
2) Submit your work (and screenshots will help too) to the community for opinions and comments, whether said comments are negative or positive.
3) Death--Droid is currently leading the project, and this is his brain-child. So in a nutshell, what he says goes, and so far I've agreed 100% with all his decisions. He has a very good eye for artistic work, and is invaluable in this regard. Please pay him the appropriate attention when and if criticism is offered on his part. He's a very busy person, and therefore he can't give long and detailed responses to all submissions.
4) Have fun! Honestly, this is the most rewarding experience I've had for a very long time. I am by no means an expert in retexturing, but have learned quite a bit from the comments offered in this thread. Please enjoy yourself!

@Phillip, sorry I have no experience in Glide64. I've heard good and bad things about it. I personally use Aristotle&Mudlord's Rice video plugin with PJ64. With the proper configuration, I have few problems. Maybe one day I'll give Glide a shot. Squal-Leonhart is the Glide64 expert in these parts.

@Death--Droid

Death--Droid, please let me know your preferred method of uploading my revised textures. Specifically in this case, those for Lake Hylia / Lakeside Laboratory. Do you want me to upload *just* the corrected textures? Or would you prefer me to re-upload the whole pack with the new corrected textures included?

I'll use your response as a basis for any and all future packs I create.

you shouldn't combine packs at random, this will cause problems.

All of the ciByRGBA textures load for me, they make up the Deku tree, Zora river and links textures (among others).

make sure you have the latest glide64, which is napalm Wx

@wybornya What exactly is included in the zip file.
@Zeckron My preferred upload would just be the updated textures.
@Squall XD Those textures shouldn't be there.

I know this isn't top notch work (I'm not very good with metal), but for now I wanted to do this because it was irritating me:
THE_LEGEND_OF_ZELDA_2E196C54_2_1_BFA1BD44_ciByRGBA.png

And since most everything else is done on Death Mountain (except ominous clouds), I'll just post this by itself. I think it turned out really well, actually:
THE_LEGEND_OF_ZELDA_3C78F1AF_0_2_all.png

EDIT: And I was just thinking, wouldn't it be awesome to change Phantom ganon's light orb to a tennis ball? Then it'd be just like tennis. Just with swords.

I just included the textures for Dondago's Cavern, Lord Jabu Jabu interior, Zoras Domain, the sacred forest meadow, a revised kokari forest, and the forest temple. You can disregard most of it I would just have a look at Lord Jabu Jabu and the forest temple as they are my most recent efforts. I think they came out really well but I should note that I'm very new at this and lack sophisticated photo editing tools required to make complex textures so a lot of the textures are borrowed from other locations and projects. I am going to continue working on the game as a little side project but if you guys decide you like what I've done I certainly wouldn't mind submitting more of my stuff.
