What's new
  • Most issues reported these days stem from users not enabling their emulators to use the required amount of RAM.
We also tend not to use the search feature but post our issues within the texture pack release page.
Failure to load a texture pack should not be posted in the release thread unless you have already patched the emulator.

If you don't have the resources to use Large/HD texture packs please do not attempt to do so.
Users should have a minimum amount of System RAM not less then 4GB's.
If you have less then 4GB's of RAM do not post about how your emulator crashes,
RAM is dirt cheap so invest some money into your PC.

I would like to say thanks to squall_leonhart

What is the error?

Have you tried refreshing the fileplanet page?

"FilePlanet: Error in your request

I tried with IE7-Opera 9-Firefox 2. So far no luck. All of them are in their default settings, emptied cache, etc. If you can shed some light on this, great.

I'm guessing you didn't feel like adding the new item graphics that people have made, it is only your work that is included.

You guessed correctly. Like I said, it is just the same stuff that I released before, but condensed into one pack. I haven't even had a chance to look at the other peoples stuff yet. But when I do, I'll see if it's good enough (not hard when it's just item graphics) and put them in update packs.

My guess is that he is no longer re texturing with Rice's Plugin, and that all of the newer work is being used with Jabo's unreleased beta plugin.

Awesome, very nice work Xeno. Are you planning on converting all these textures over to Jabo's once the public release is available?

Converting all of the textures over to Jabo's plugin would take up too much of my free time (free time that I could be making textures with). So, any new textures that I'll be making will be made from and for Jabo's plugin. Some work had been done with the first pack to make it compatible, but that's about as far as they got.

Well, at least I know that when 1.7 comes out, I'll also have this pack to look forward.

Any possibility that you could explain why it's so difficult to convert them? Obviously he's using a different technique than Rice, and I'm interested (though I certainly understand if you can't).

Zelda Hi-Res Texturer
more WIP.

any views on this are most welcome :)

btw, anybody know of some free texture resources? I really don't like my bark texture, but all the trees near me are the same kind....
I'd have to walk a fair way to find a different type of tree...

I am not sure if you are drawing these, or modelling this environment in 3D, I know I attempted it for Djipi's Cel Zelda pack with limited success in getting the render to match the ingame tiles.

When I did it, I used Screenshots taken from Kokiri Forest for the window and doorway, and added a branch to the window, to match the model of the exterior of the house. Same with the Gravekeeper's hut, but thats a Full Size backing which we now know cant be replaced.

I also did some other bits, and even attempted to do the Market entirely in 3D, but again, the panoramic camera thing, I just couldnt get right!!!!:borg: :borg:

Anyway, I am attaching images of What I Did, incase anyone wishes to work with it in the project, or if it offers ideas and inspiration.

Man, those look awsome. Do you know if Jabo's new plugin will be able to load the overhead textures, or the temple one?

I think so, but due to emulator issues, I have sort of abandoned Jabo's Plugin and the new PJ64...

well Project 64 doesnt run so well for me, and there is talk of moving to DDS formats and stuff, so I have given up on re-texturing for Jabo's plugin for the time being.

I'm beginning to think that it's going to be vaporware like the cell shade plugin. I stopped retexturing to wait for Jabo's, but at this rate, nothing will ever get finished. Maybe after I finish Twilight Princess, I'll start up again.

The Skyscraper

72 Hours. What will you do?
mdtauk, let me just say that your WIPs of the static environments are gorgeous, and that I wish you the best in finishing this project and managing to import the newly done static environments into the game via PJ64 1.7 or some other nifty plugin. Keep up the awesome work, and even though many people are like "MORE! BETTER! FASTER!" I just want you to know that your hard work is much appreciated! :satisfied

Those are not for this pack.

your path would be something like this:
'C:\Games\N64\1964\099\plugin\hires_texture\THE LEGEND OF ZELDA'

Hmm for some reason none of the fire animates, not in the torches and not in the cutscenes. I'd try PJ64 1.7's hi-res texture loading but I still haven't figured out how to load the textures on 1.7 lol

Im Bored

lol@censors
Hopefully the quality is good enough to be used, and if theres any tips anyone can give me itd be appreciated (although its hard to tell from just screens i spose).

Ive pretty much finished the area Lord Jabu Jabu is in, save for the big fish itself and made a start on Dodongos Cavern.

(Im having troubles dumping textures for Jabu Jabu himself though. One of the eye animation frames just will not show up; I can get two of them fine but theres a third with his eye completely closed, which will not dump. If anyone can post up a zip of all his textures, thatd be useful.)

Will post a small download for every area that I get finished.
