And I pray that you will someday realize your state as a fundamentally corrupted creation that cannot be fulfilled by anything you seek to satisfy yourselves with.

Jesus Is My Lord My Saviour And My GOD
He Is The Only GOD And All Will Bow Before Him
And No One Will Take His place
Yeah whatever now let me fill you full of the same bullshit:

A rock in the garden is my Lord, my Saviour and my God
He is not only my GOD and will bow down before him.

This is how GARDEN ROCK created the universe, first off he began as a huge chuck of GARDEN ROCK and exploded because he got too big. now there is pieces of our saviour in everyones gardens. The Spitit of the god still lives on within that small mindless GARDEN ROCK.

All hail the mighty GARDEN ROCK, let it be forever stoned and guide my path to the light. The GARDEN ROCK is love... the GARDEN ROCK is all knowing, the GARDEN ROCK is the ultimate inanimate object because I can hurt people with it and break into cars... but I would not do so because the first law of my religion requires that GARDEN ROCKs be treated with dignity... yes i'm afraid we have to use a brick to break into cars.

You're in for a shock when you die and you see a giant GARDEN ROCK in front of you for all enternity. Oh yeah did I mention to pray to our lord the GARDEN ROCK you must first bring him several bags of sugar? if you do not he will be displeased and may cause bad weather to happen.

Now supposed I pass this story down my family tree and convinced them so heavily, with books and other mindless nonsense... would they eventually be like you? a drone with the ability not to think on his own... because that is what religion is to me, you "NEED" a guiding hand you "NEED" to worship something, why? why the hell should I have to worship anyone based on a book which is about the length of Lord of the Rings and equally as believeable.

Oh and trust me, if you stay christian any kids you have will also be and they will also be ignorant, but I guess Ignorance is bliss eh? and when you can't win an arguement they will resort to absolutely stupid attempts to convert people... I have an unbelieveably large amount of facts to base my belief on what do you have? a book that was copied so many times that its twisted and changed.

I think faith is important because without something to believe in, our life is basically worthless; a mere speck in the universe.

As an atheist, I do not require a meaning or faith in order to find life enjoyable and worth living.

As an agnostic, I'll finnaly join to the discussion and express my opinion:

1. This guy Alchemist is nuts saying that evolution doesn't exist and the world is 10000 years old. Not even a cathlolic priest would say that nowadays. In fact, I made an interview last year to a priest, you won't believe the things he said about sexuality, for example.

2. Any modern priest says that the "seven days" that God used to create the world are merely a metaphor. And they have no problem with evolution theory as they said God took a lot of time to made the human being.

3. The Catholic doctrine is not based in the Bible, anyone who says that is an ignorant. There is the cathecism, and a lot of texts that are released by the Vatican

4. Lots of things has been banned from the Vatican in the past and now are accepted. For example they didn't accepted that the Earth wasn't the center of the universe, and sexual pleasure was considered a sin even in married people. Now sexual pleasure is seen by catholic authorities as something healthy and a God's gift (only if you are married and don't use anti-conception methods) according to the Priest I interviewed last year. So this means that things that catholic authorities approve changes over time.

4. John Paul II said that hell and heaven are not physical places, so there are no eternal flames in hell ironically according to catholic authorities

5. Yes, Carbon dating tests have lower accuracy when measuring a lot of time. That's why there are uranium dating tests.

6. History tell us that religion has been the cause of many wars.

7. Jesuschrist in fact existed. Yes the guy existed, there's a lot of documentation and historical facts that prove that, however there are still a lot of things missing of him. He' still a subject of study for story makers, the guy still has an important role in our current society.

8. Einstein once told that science can't tell us if God exists, but it can also deny his existence.

9. The origin of the universe is still a mistery. I myself never believed too much in the Big Bang theory. I believe that currently the human being doesn't have the mediums or technology to calculate the age of the universe. And that goes for the origin too. Big bang is not a theory, is just an hypothesis for me. God is just an easy and poor way to explain the origin of the universe in this case, but Bing Bang is ironically for me the same thing.

10. Yes I rock, and I think this thread should be closed, there should be just one religious discussion thread for a year. We have enought

Only problem is we're talking about the christian faith not the catholic faith, theres a difference... but ones as dumb as the other... you said yourself science can't disprove god but that is no reason to believe, science can't disprove a universe made entirely out of spagghetti but thats still no reason to believe in such non-sence.

Jesus may have existed but I doubt he was anything more than a mere man like the rest of us...

All hail the mighty garden rock.

As an atheist, I do not require a meaning or faith in order to find life enjoyable and worth living.

Don´t you have faith in yourself, in your power to change your life or to influence positively the life of others, it is the power of positive thinking, the knowing, without evidence, that you can do something gainst the odds, thjere is no God implied in that.

10. Yes I rock,...
5. Yes, Carbon dating tests have lower accuracy when measuring a lot of time. That's why there are uranium dating tests.

If you rock so much...Can i test something using uranus.

Jesus may have existed but I doubt he was anything more than a mere man like the rest of us...

That left some nice thoughts about love and equality like Ghandi, Buddha...

All hail the mighty garden rock.

Yes, my Lord!

I was happy to be insulted, derided , and to disgust you because it affirms that which I believe in the first place. You hate me because you hated Christ first, and I am humbled to be known by his name as a Christian. Though you may be older and more knowledgable than myself, this can only strengthen my resolve to hold my beliefs intact and learn how to better understand your views. You have not dissuaded me, neither can you, neither will you; For him whom I serve cannot be triumphed over by anything, let alone mere men.
This is my confession, that Jesus Christ is Lord.

First, I never had the intention of insulting you, I, just like everyone else here, am only defending my view about this subject. But if you felt insulted by something I said, all I can say is "sorry, I won't let this happen again".

Second, I do NOT hate you or Jesus neither have motives to do so. I just want to live my own life, taking my own decisions. If you believe that god is the reason of everything, you don't need to search for knowledge, since you already have this idea in your mind and you don't need to prove anything. That's why the scientists are always researching about life and how we "came" to this planet, because they aren't satisfied with just theories about gods (since they are too incertain, there's a lot of gods in the world, how can you tell who is the right one??).

Third, my objective is not to dissuade you, neither any member of this forum; as I said before, everyone here is defending their view about religion. Of course, some of them went too far, but the way to treat this subject vary from each people, so you have to tolerate each ways, don't you think?

I've created my own religion, around the humble garden rock - here's the start of a tale like you've seen a thousand times before:

...and so the mighty garden rock came down from the heavens to sit in your garden, absorbing the mud and warmth of the air. John decided to test his faith one day and throw the garden rock away - the very next day the garden rock was back to reveal his cruel twist of fate. "John, You have broken the highest law of my being..." Garden rock told John with a menacing rumble on the ground.

"From here on out you will be the lord of the underworld, your fate is to torment all those who would dare defy me and throw me away..." and sure enough... garden rock had created hell... no longer would people disobey their lord and saviour... the almighty garden rock.

"God needs sugar, and lots of it" garden rocks first commandment.

Don't blame me, garden rock said so.

Christian religion? Catholic Religion? Please! Catholic people follows an example, Christ, they are Christh followers and believers, so they are christians as well. For example if you believe too much in Freud theory, you are called a freudian.
Religions has always many subdivisions, Muslims haves for example, as you guys can see in the news, many subdivisions. It's different so say christians, muslims or budhists, and all of them has divisions

The Christian faith and the Catholic faith are different versions of the same story, they have subtle differences but needless to say the largest one would be that the Catholics have more kids than the christians because they don't believe in birth control... its sinful but what isn't? Catholics also go confess their sins regularly while christians don't directly do that in the church.

Some Religions are harmful to our society because lets give you one example, if you're a child of a Johovas witness they wouldn't donate blood or any body part to save your life based on their beliefs... thats morally wrong. You get some problem with your body and you're screwed basically.

I think buddism is the only religion that I have limited respect for, mainly because it isn't about pleasing your god its about your path and your path alone to enlightenment... if I didn't renounce all of them as pure rubbish when I was younger I might've been one of these.

Like I said earlier, i'm not going to worship anyone, I'll do whatever the HELL I like! (no pun intended).

I don't have faith in myself, and I don't need it. I know there exists no "god" and that the nature works by its own means. We are animals and were supposed to be and although we deny it, we are still animals and some of our "animal insticts" have not yet vanished from us.
I simply believe that we are living a life and we must do with it as we want.
