Yeah, I was getting around to trying 1964 eventually. I did just now, and unfortunately it is also affected.

Wow this all looks great - I have checked the whole thread and an eagerly awaiting the new RDB release - to be honest my intrest in emulation has defleted somewhat so to have this - The new Glide Plugin - 1964 and Azimers plugin in the works is cool - Add to this nemu - Maybe and emulation is still as exciting as before PJ 1.4!!!!

whoah, easy there, we arent really making anything better, just documenting the situation. frankly, things will never again be as exciting as before PJ 1.4. lol.

Anyway, DK64. At first glance the story skip issue seems to be plugin related, given that the same exact type of lock-up occurs in PJ64 and 1964 (right after K Rool's ship appears, with DK in the water able to swim around???). Then I tested the 1.2 and 1.4 cores of PJ64, both using the D3D6 1.2b plugin, and here's what happened. In the 1.4 core the lock-up occured identically as before. In 1.2 though, the lock-up was much sooner, as the camera flys through the "head" of DK mountain. DK himself did not end up in the seen when using 1.2.
What do ya think? My money's on the core being at fault.:plain:


My money is on the core aswell, because... what we are seeing is a loop in time, the video plugin is only processing each display list as it arrives from the CPU, it has no memory... so by my reckoning that could not possibly be the video plugin. I need to consult a higher authoritaah.

I use the new video plugin with PJ64 1.3 and I cant figure out if the crashes in 1.4 are from the core or plugin issues with the new core??? Hmmmm.. well lets only hope... :)

i've used video plugin's of 1.2 1.3 and 1.4 on Zelda OOT [!] and they all crash at this one point in the great duku tree where your crawling under this wall... but since save states are compatable with pj64 1.3 i could load it in there get past the crash point and everything works in pj64 1.4 after that.

Ive been playing Castlevania 1 for some time and it seems to me totally stable...no crashes and very few graphical gliches.Im using everything default

you agree with that? anyone? ive crossed City Tour GP off cos ive got no evidence it ever worked (though i have a hunch it did).


and just 2 games that are better on older vid plug?:

Smash Bros (1.3) (are some people ok with 1.4?!)
Iggy's Reckin balls (1.2)

crossed off G.A.S.P Fighters cos it dont work right on any v.

smash brothers works with jabo 1.4 if you hit start to skip the intro... 'cause sometimes the intro crashs pj64... some gfx bugs but ingame overall looks better in jabo's 1.4 plugin

EDIT: they say the same thing in a ini on 1964
