if you want me too, i'll get a digital camera pic of the line on the nintendo logo to proove it's not a glitch, although it's up there for a slightly shorter time on the real n64 version so it'll be hard for me to catch it, i'll try to have a good one in a few minutes though

I guess that the crash with opengl plugin could be system and video card dependent. The crash happens when the plugin was closing up the OGL resources at rom close. OpenGL requires to be uninitialized in the same thread as the OGL instance was created. If OGL resources are to be deleted in a different thread, my ATI 9600 drive would fire "invalid memory error" and crash the plugin. I guess drivers from other vendor could just fail the OGL function call, instead of crashing the application.

glN64 could be fine because (as I remembered) it creates its own thread to get around this problem. Somone could still remember the rom close problem with tr64 ogl plugin. It was caused by the same reason.

No matter OGL crash or not, the plugin cannot close up. Unreleased resources could build up and eventually crash the system.

wow it's hard to get a good picture of a t.v. screen, all of my pics are blurred. but the line is there, the only problem is that it goes diagonal and not straight up and down, but i like the up and down better. sorry if i confused anybody

No problems pacers7isback, thank you for clarifying :) And yeah I like how it is at the moment, looks correct even if it isn't, lol

The games I've tested were Zelda MM and Zelda MQ. I just risked turning it fullscreen, and all is working fine, so I guess that's not much of a problem.

Fantastic, I've been a long time fan of N64 emulation and am very happy to see this new release. I might post a few screenshots later :p

I think this picture shows a small bit of the diagonal line at the end of its path. I know it's not very good and probably not worth posting, but...

1.6 Issues

I would have to say that with this new release PJ64 has become the best n64 emulator out there. I was especially surprised by how well Killer Instinct Gold ran in this new version (as far as I know no other emulator has been able to pull this off yet).

The only problems I have experienced with pj64 1.6 :

1080 Snowboarding ran perfectly smooth on my PC in version 1.5 but in 1.6 the framerate has dropped to a stuttering 20 FPS. Music & sound also extremely choppy.

Same problem with Perfect Dark. Smooth framerate in v1.5 extremely low framerate in 1.6.

I turned off the Limit FPS option in both cases but this didn't remedy the problem at hand. Is it maybe that this new version has higher system requirements than the last for certain games ? Anyhoo, truly amazing work guys ! The PJ64 Team are true geniuses ! I am blown away ! :bouncy:

P.S. This is my first post on this board, so I don't know if my specs will appear at the bottom of my message. So just to be sure...CPU : Pentium P4 2.40 Ghz...Graphics Card : Intel 82845G...Memory : 256MB RAM...

in Perfect Dark the music in the Level1 intro video (which also plays after the game intro) doesn't have the music it has on my N64, totally, the rumble is bugged and doesn't work properly at all.
drunken vision in beginning of conker is bugged as is the pause screen

Here's a screencap from a NTSC N64 using Svideo and Zelda OOT.

The logo doesn't appear to have horizontal lines through it like Rice's plugin has, and the shine effect on the word nintendo is a white diagonal line that passes over it going right.

KI: now only playable with Jabo plugins ?

it crashes with glide64 and Rice video plugin now

:(

Tested and confirmed, it doesn't seem to boot with any other plugin - however if you make a save state after the game has loaded with Jabos, switch plugin then load the save - it works fine.

At your service, dood!
What's the deal with a horizontal line through the logo? I like it... and how does this affect your gameplay?! pretty petty excuse for a bug if it is one.

I think it was actually there in the real thing, but i am too lazy to get my oot or mm cart out over this :p

Great job Reznor007, now we know how the logo should be displayed. Conlusion: neither Jabo's nor Rice's is perfect here...
