Jabo should have done automatic pixel shader feature detection, and get rid off the "Legacy pixel pipeline" option.

Hi...
I have a problem with some textures in Zelda MM, in the older version of Jabo plugin the fairies fountain looked good now they lack the water, a similar problem occur in town with some section of the floor..
I have activated the "Legacy Pixel Pipeline" in the Advanced options , but nothing, also I must enable the "Direct 3d transformation pipeline" to be able to see the sun and the moon in the clock in the botton of the screen.
Look the screenshot...

Is there anything I can do or my video card is just to lame...?

Who says he doesnt? That option is just there in case the shader pipeline has problems and the non shader pipeline doesnt :) We didnt get a chance to test out the new shader pipe with *everything* out there - we do have lives... so there's a good chance the shader pipe might break something accidentally :p.

I believe that is the same reason you added a "Software T&L" feature to your plugin before? -- Just for the sake of compatibility.

Well I'd say try updating drivers and see if that helps you out, you might want to check with the manufacturer of your laptop for updated drivers or download the latest from www.nvidia.com

The problem is I dont know which would be better or if it would help... That is a mobile graphics chipset and I have no idea what features nvidia added or removed that might cause problems... Still, try updating the driver and see if that helps. If it doesnt then either try 1.5.2 or stick to using Direct 3d transformation pipeline to where ever it helps.

Just had to sign up to post about this release. Great stuff. :bouncy: Although, of all the improvements, I kinda wish more attention had been paid to Mario Tennis (it's definitely one of the better N64 games, IMHO). There are some VERY major graphical glitches that render the game near unplayable. I'll see if I can get some screenshots up in a bit, though you probably all know what I'm talking about anyway. Seriously though, even Jabo's Direct3D6 seemed to handle it better.

Edit: Screens.

Did check the GameFAQ, believe it or not. Jabo's Direct3D8 doesn't have Force Normal Blending or Force Depth Compare options through, so I don't know wtf to do. :/ I'm willing to live with the messed up replays, but having an in-game screen like this does get on my nerves (and the entire screen gets obliterated when Lakitu's close-up of one player is supposed to be displayed in a frame in the corner).

Anyway, If there's ever going to be another release, just thought I'd say that, in my opinion, this should be focused on. :p

The Direct3D6 plugin has those options, I believe in Direct3D8 they are called force alpha blending and force z compare. that works ok.

Its still not perfect though, I know of no solution.

Shouldn't really need to, it should work with that option off.
No, the screen flashes wildly white with screwed up colours at teh bottom.

Alrighty, it works, but I had to take off AA and the copy --- to RDRAM thing.

unfortunately i found a pretty bad bug in pilotwings... when u use bird man mode its some sort of deformed bird/hang glider that takes up most of the screen. makes it unplayable. :( the other three pics are of the squares under the boats and people when over the water, which isnt a big deal at all, but i thought i'd post a pic for people to see.

EDIT: so after messing with it more, i found out the birdman glitch only happens if you get bird man by flying into a star in a level. if you choose it from the EXTRA menu, it runs fine. also the squares under your character over water are only if you have the jetpack. so no big deal.

From memory; Force Alpha, Force D3D Transform Pipeline (more performance maybe) + Force filtering/2xsai

But yeah use the older plugin, it tends to work on the whole a bit better.

The plugin jabo 1.6 requires too much of the pc with Ogre Battle 64 and the background appear sometimes. In my pc most of the time the cpu works 100% with this game. I have played another games and they didn't require too much how this game.

Sometimes the PJ 64 close by itself when i open or restart a rom when i already have a emulation. And sometimes the video plugin seem to be interfering in the sound plugin.

CPU: Pentium 4 2.0GHz, Memory: 256 MB rambus and Vídeo Board: GeForce 2 MX (64MB).

Thats why the Rom Browser says: [video] error(s) various; use d3d6 (see GameFAQ) the GFAQ issue page refers to that :) please check RDB Browser notes in future

I have many problems with directX plugin. But after lot of test I have found that a driver problem. In my personnal test best driver for Geforce4 MX or GO is 53.03 and for geforce2 MX or GO is the 45.23.

For win2k/XP try this link to download driver http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp-2k_archive.html

Hey pounch, have you tried 47.19 for geforce4mx? It seems to have gotten rid of all the graphical glitches for me under jabo's direct3d8. Not sure how it compares to 53.03 though

About the source code

I don't think many people did much with the 1.4 source because it was outdated.

I'm not suggesting you release the 1.6 source, because Project 64 is perceived active
many won't do much with the source knowing the Project 64 team will have better versions in the works and will likely do a better job

but if Project 64 were to stall again, releasing the latest source could gain a lot of interest
