Fun Game. Try to list no more than five games games that are much more enjoyable emulated than on the N64 console. When I mean way better, I mean WAY better. Of course any game that is 100% emulated can be consider better (improved graphics, can save anywhere.) But I want those that are really significant. If you can say why. There's only one rule: It's all up to your personal opinion and experience. ( Oh, and you don't have to have owned or played it on the console.)
Now that that point has been beat upside your head. Here's mine.
Mace- The Dark Ages
N64: Average fighting game that seriously sacrificed frame rate for eye candy. While it has it's cult following, I thought it was too lethargic for my taste.
Emu: Merely crank the counter facter up by one and it feels like a whole new game. The combos feel like combos and all that crap in the background starts to matter more. Also some of the characters (particularly those with long weapons) don't feel as useless anymore.
Improvement: C- to B
Turok 2- Seeds of evil
N64: Great game. One of the best on the system. However, it had two fundamental flaws: the lack of save locations and a laglike framerate at some of its most intense scenes.
Emu: Yes, I know I said saving anywhere is pretty much a universal improvement for all emulated N64 games. But this one in particular just cries for it. Anyone thats played it knows what I'm talking about. Unfortunately, you lose the map functionality and I refuse to bump down the graphics for a smoother playing experience.
Improvement: To hell with the map. After I leave level one, I leave those little yellow diamonds laying around to guide me and just have no need for a map. A- to A+
Knife Edge-Nose Gunner
Improvement: Can play with the mouse. D- to C
Sorry for the long post. Just thought I'd contribute to this board for a change. Also, wanted to break up the monotony of people asking for help only to be harrassed for their system specs, and then immediately told to use the search feature. :saint:
