What's new
  • Most issues reported these days stem from users not enabling their emulators to use the required amount of RAM.
We also tend not to use the search feature but post our issues within the texture pack release page.
Failure to load a texture pack should not be posted in the release thread unless you have already patched the emulator.

If you don't have the resources to use Large/HD texture packs please do not attempt to do so.
Users should have a minimum amount of System RAM not less then 4GB's.
If you have less then 4GB's of RAM do not post about how your emulator crashes,
RAM is dirt cheap so invest some money into your PC.

I would like to say thanks to squall_leonhart
    for posting this Solution.

Hey can someone tell me where I can download the updates? Or am I suppose to re-download that 77MB file again? Sorry, but it's hard to keep track of a 52 page thread.

I just thought I'd be a little more clear on that so people know what i'm talking about. The ground in hyrule market looks kinda like it's slanted downward. It's just a minor perspective problem though, not that big of a deal. Here's some screenies of it.
WHAT

Djipi retextured Hyrule Castle Town? It doesn't show up on any of my emulators...I thought there was that whole pre-rendering problem. Wasn't there?...

Same here, I just went to the very first page and re-downloaded the 77MB files and everything looks exactly the same. Is it s plugin problem, or did I download the wrong files?

looks nice...but there's still the problem that those floor stones look like a flat wall...it doesn't look 3D, you know what I mean? Isn't it possible to make the stones at the bottom of bigger and the ones further up smaller?

That might be very hard to do, since most of the ground is just one single texture. The N64 takes care of whatever perspective correction is needed, which might not work well, if the original textures are altered drastically.

That's great Djipi! Retexturing the market has been attempted by a lot of people, and although they got some good results, none have been as good as yours. It makes sense that you would be the one to retexture it because it will match your other textures.
Engeljaeger was right though- the perspective of the ground tiles isn't right. Also, the sides on the little grass-box things don't align perfectly, and there are also some slight overlap problems with the tree behind the building. Otherwise, it's an excellent WIP, keep it up! :)

P.S. It helps, when making a 2-D picture look 3-D, to exaggerate the shadows (which creates depth) and make things in further away darker and blurrier (although Anisotropic Filtering probably will affect this).

Mollymutt, when you made that marketplace, you made it in photoshop, right? if so, did you use different layers for things? If I can get a psd of the panorama, and that stone is on it's on layer and i can edit it without affecting anything else, I may be able to do something.

Djipi, I retextured the ground with a better perspective and added shadows in the background. It's kind-of crude right now, but I just want to show people what a difference it makes. I'll be glad to a lot more on the 2-D environments, but since I couldn't find the exact textures you used, could you please PM me or post the ones you used. Thanks! :)

u must apply anisotrophic (sp?) filter to fix that messed texture, well from the way I see it it would certainly work

(sorry for my bad grammar)

edit: some screeny on how 3D graphics looks without and anisotropic(sp?) filter

Okay, so none of the pre-rendered stuff is in the texture pack?

Brilliant, I look forward to it. But we still can't see any of the static pre-rendered textures, right? Like mdtaulk's freaking genius Temple of Time? *grumble*

YES!! First you should start with mdtauk's renderings of the temple of time and the market place entrance and any others that he did!! Please, they look like they actually came out of wind waker!!

@djlarz:
1. Uncheck "Hide advanced options" under "general Options".
2. Check "Load hi-res textures if available" under "Texture Filters".
3. Put the new textures in the plugin folder:
"...\Plugin\hires_texture\The Legend of Zelda"
Thanks a lot! I'll try that when I'll get home from school. :)
